Very happy with our new home. From sales to customer service/support, all personnel have responded quickly and gained our trust.

Sheetrock in living room was poorly installed. I had to move my furniture four times while they tried to fix a botched drywall job on high slanted ceiling. That I was promised would be re-done. They kept patching it. Now the head guy is saying ‘it’s not in the warranty.” They rush through everything. Was walking on the carpet and had a tack stick me in my barefoot...I gave them a 3star on responsiveness because they got back to me a 2days-week later. Trustworthy: The sales team were great...the builders that’s another story. I don’t trust them. I think I got a good deal on price and extras...I just wished they had done the house right the first time. I can still see waves in my ceiling. Drawers on cabinets are too small and narrow for anything (Kent Moore design). Overall, I like the house. But, I hate my ceiling. ... More

Highland homes made our first time home buying experience a breeze. Great customer service!

The finish work of our home was below par. The building manager did a great job addressing the items. If I could do it over I would not have closed until the majority of the items were corrected.

House quality is great but there are always some of what I would call normal things that pass through during inspection that we have to open warranty claims to get it fixed. And the response time is not ideal... Sometimes the builder will try to push you an easy solution for you to fix or take advantage of your lack of technical knowledge... Having a hard time to have the builder recognizing that my backyard mow has a lots of imperfections which my 3 yrs old son twisted his ankle due to holes between grass sods. Also there are several types of grass so the backyard grass is all colored with different types of green and grass textures as well. Had issues with backsplash installation as well... After many attempts they did it right although I had to accept few minor defects as I was already of people coming to my place after I moved in. ... More

I had a great experience with the Highland Homes team! I would definitely recommend them to all my family and friends!

First 2 weeks had good response as to items that need attention. The last 6 weeks response was good from contractors that Highland Homes contacted, but not from Highland Homes as to items that would be handled directly by Highland Homes.

My construction manager was responsive and kept me informed every step of the way. Everything progressed as they said it would.

Highland Homes may have built it’s better reputation in the early 2000’s for innovative, functional and almost high end quality materials. But in the recent years it’s quality and workmanship seems to be faltering. It’s been 86 days in our new house and there are already numerous issues of workmanship and quality of products installed. Had it not been with the construction manager and sales agent. I would rated it 1 star.

I probably would've have had a better experience with a another builder. They just want your houses done quick no matter what the condition. No communication after 1 month there was a big 10×10 hole in the middle of my yard and no one said anything about until i had to complain of course and 3 weeks later and the hole is STILL there.

The sales people are awesome and stay in touch with you. The project manager was quite responsive throughout the process. However, the drywall has multiple cracks in the corners of many walls and the material used for the baseboards seems cheap or old. The caulking dried and shrunk in less than 2 months and several nail pops appeared right away. They don't be appear to be covered under the warranty.

From the beginning of the process, December 2019, Megan, our sales rep, went above and beyond to answer our questions or concerns that we had. We purchased our property before our section of the neighborhood had been started and before Highland officially started building in the neighborhood so there were growing pains associated with that. The whole process could have been streamlined had we known every option that was available from the start. Throughout the whole process we had to essentially inundate our sales rep with questions about things we could have put in the house, things that are now readily available to all purchases, ie. Black exterior and interior windows. Megan did her best to get our questions answered asap but it seemed like corporate didn't have the answers themselves. Again, Megan went above and beyond and did an amazing job. Overall quality of the house...some aspects are good and others not so much. The trim work around the house is sub par and cheap. The caulking used to seal has already started splitting, seams and taping on the drywall have started splitting, which was explained to us by our construction manager is not covered to have repaired by highland since its from settling. Correction tape and floating issues are covered but not seems in the caulking and nail pops. One of our corners in the kitchen trim is wonky and not plum, neither is the wall. Exterior paint job is spotty and shotty and the trades used throughout the process have zero respectability in their work. Touch up done on trim around the house was not painted properly after repairs were made to it. Stain in the master bathroom tub hasn't been able to be removed. Cracks on the corners of walls, and the list goes on. For a company that I've heard nothing but good things about some of the work quality is lower than builder grade at best. Need to be more attentive to the trades they hire and be on-site more to make sure they're doing their jobs and cleaning up their trash. I should not be finding fragments, large fragments at that, of brick and trash throughout my yard under flower beds and sod. ... More

We loved going through the home buying/building process with Highland. They made everything stress free and communicated with us great. I would absolutely recommend using highland if in the market for building a new home. The house turned out wonderful! Its everything we wanted.

Our salesman Ethan was very responsive, knowledgeable, and caring. He was very helpful throughout the entire process and was eager to solve any and every issue that arose throughout. The construction manager Dylan was the same until the very end when there were some issues with door frames, when brought up he tried to talk his way out of solving the issues by going as far as saying it would push closing back two months. After going to his boss and pushing back it was resolved within a day. My family and I love the house and are very happy in our new home. Our experience with Highland homes was absolutely fantastic! Lynn and Linda in the sales office were so helpful and accommodating. I don't say this lightly, but their integrity was one of the biggest reasons we went with Highland. Every interaction we had, we walked away knowing we could trust what was discussed. One person who I really can't thank enough throughout this was Blake, our Building Manager. That guy made the experience fun and exciting. He listened to what we had to say, provided us with some great feedback, and kept us up-to-date with everything that was going on. He was very professional, but made it seem like you're just talking with a good friend about something they're extremely knowledgeable about. Because of Blake, I can absolutely trust that the quality of our home is something I won't have to worry about. I also wanted to make note that we started the construction of our home just before COVID hit. Once the foundation was poured, that's when the first shutdown started. I really can't thank the team over at Highland enough for staying on top of things and letting us know what was going on every step of the way.
