Since closing on our home in August at Bulverde, TX, my wife and I has received excellent customer service from the Highland Home representatives: Mark, Keith and Ms. Debbie. Perfection is a subjective term that every builder strive for!! Highland’s team at this location continues to collaborate with me addressing all concerns that appears to be imperfect. I know that I haven’t been the easiest customer; however I have alway been respectful. My attention to detail is quite different from most. No matter how minor it maybe, my perception was never belittled. They were all rationally addressed and we came to conclusion. My satisfaction appeared to be Highland Homes’ priority!! My wife and I wake up every morning thanking the Lord for blessing us with a wonderful home and guiding us to choosing Highland Home for making our dreams of a beautiful quality home come true. ... First time homebuyer and could not be happier

We have encountered numerous issues ranging from cosmetic to a leaking roof. On the bright side Highland has been quick to respond. But it has been disappointing that a new home can come with so many problems.

The sales office was unreliable--missed scheduled appointments, never in the office. Every change order had to be revised multiple times because it was so wrong, math was off, double charges, and lack of attention to details.

House Orientation to be better and to show all homes is advisable

The whole experience was handled easily and professionally. The warranty issues have been minor and handled quickly once I submitted them online. Good company to business with and would recommend them to anyone looking to buy a new home.

We purchased our home three months ago, and have had severe plumbing issues ever since. Our construction manager has been great, but they had to dig a hole in our guest bedroom, they pumped a brick out of the upstairs plumbing and removed wood and debris from our downstairs plumbing. We were without adequate plumbing for nearly 2 months. And had construction workers in and out for nearly a month. We had to stay in a hotel for several days and were displaced for quite some time. We also have not been offered any compensation other than them fixing their mistakes. I have called the office, and left messages via their contact us links on the website. No one has called back. When you are buying a house at this price point you definitely should not be having these types of issues. ... More

My experience was horrible had some problems at the house that were supposed to be taken care of and our builder never answered our calls anymore

We are not too happy in the beginning when we looked at purchasing our home from highlns. The problem is that I believe this was a bit oversold in terms of trying to get us in the home. We initially made contact with a salesperson back in April 2019 and was told the home we were purchasing would be completed in late July. It was a play on the excitement in our eyes to have something ready shorty after arriving in San Antonio. Well to our surprise and without any delays that were mentioned to us... the home wasn't completed until late August. Meeting with the program manager and conversations with the Sales Manager seemed to be working in our favor, but it was frustrating. We were frustrated with not getting information, timelines and the changes in construction manager. The next constructions manager was better at responding. It was almost like the salesperson knew we were in a rush and we had to contact lead Program Managers/Constructions Managers all the time just to get updates. And the problem with that was contacting the office in the local area. I had to call the office in another city just to get through to the team in San Antonio. I called an office in Dallas to get transferred to the main officer here in San Antonio. There was little communication and finally we were able to get information on when the home would be completed and ready to move in. It was a rough few months especially with our daughter in the NICU for a few months.. and as we were not in the area to check in at times on top of having a newborn without a place to live was really frustrating. I know that we were upfront with letting the salesperson know that we would be in San Antonio the first week of July. I know that we mentioned that we wanted the tub a certain way. I know that we had GREAT communication with our realtor, but it appeared that the only people not responding to our questions or not listening were the team at highland homes. We frequented the property when we arrived and found a few areas of concern which we were told that would be addressed and taken care of as soon as possible. A new salesperson who was only here temporarily was very knowledgable about everything Highland and we so wish that we would have had her initially. This was a rush of emotion and frustration that would have been a lot easier had there been some clear communication from team Highland. Im that we initially trusted Highland homes to the fullest extent. The lack of communication and with the salesperson telling us this home would be completed in July kinda made it hard to ensure out needs were met and questions were answered. I appreciate Highland Homes building a great house and taking the time to make sure the little details were done right! We opted for high end floors, media room, large lot, and unique elevation and love the way the house came together. I am not a first time new home buyer and my standards are high. The sales and project teams worked hand in hand to ensure all communications regarding the house were documented and verified. Their process for checks at various stages and during closing made us more confident on their project. The closing and post-close follow ups have been great too. Would highly recommend highland homes to my friends and family.
