The house is very nice. Every person I’ve worked with was a wonderful. I feel like there was some things that were too rushed through and was some visible. When I asked for something to be done, though, everyone listened and explained the situation and took care of what I needed.

We purchased our Highland Home sight unseen, and from day one we were lucky enough to work with our construction manager, Lane. For months, all of our communication was over email, and he consistently impressed us. His responses were always incredibly in-depth, clear, and timely. He went above and beyond in problem-solving, and even with some last-minute changes, he remained patient, accommodating, and solutions-oriented. When we finally met him in person, I was genuinely shocked—based on his level of knowledge, professionalism, and communication skills, I assumed he had at least 30 years of experience. He’s that good. Highland is truly lucky to have him. I also want to give the biggest thank-you to Renee. Lane and Renee were the absolute dream team. From the moment we were connected, she made the design and selection process effortless. She always went out of her way to help bring our house dreams to life—even letting me text her with questions—and she responded quickly every single time. 10/10 for both of them. I bought a Highland home because of their wonderful reputation however, I was disappointed in the quality of work and the oversight. While I love the home itself there were many issues during construction and after. The finishes of the house are poorly done and it feels like cheap labor was used just to complete the job. I thought Highland was known for great customer service however, was disappointed in being brushed off by the construction manager. If you choose to buy a home with Highland, you need to keep a close eye on every single detail and make sure you bring it to the attention before closing. ... More

My husband and I worked with Tyler (Sales, 6 Creeks in Kyle) to purchase our home. Tyler made working through the details of the process easy and efficient -- and transparent. There we no surprises or stumbles along the way. Mark, the builder, was available at our convenience to make sure that the move in process and orientation to the home were all successful and met our expectations. We have built 7 houses over the years but have always been local during the build. Not this time. From touring the model homes through the sales process and closing we had a really great experience.

My wife and I have built 7 homes, prior to this working with Highland. Renee, our Sales Counselor and Hunter, our Construction Manager made the purchasing, construction and Move-in experience the best we have ever had. During the construction, we would stop by the sales model and the sales team would were very gracious with their time as we were deciding feature details and decorating ideas. Also, during this time, we would drop by the construction site to see progress. Hunter, would go out of his way to stop by and say "hello" whenever he say us. Both Renee and Hunter did an excellent job of communicating status and progress on our home. The Highland team had a well documented phase process which set expectations for us. This process was instrumental in delivering a quality home on the scheduled they committed. Both Renee and Hunter were responsive to our change requests, while still staying on schedule. Hunter was very responsive to questions/concerns raised during and even pointed out a couple items we failed to identify during the selection process (kitchen accent wall, kitchen beams and 2nd bedroom bath frameless shower). Hunter offered to add at no charge nice features like 1) curtain rod bracing, 2) garage attic decking and 3) reduction in use of media room glue and tack strips (we /owner planned to remove this carpet and install rubber flooring for a gym). Whenever their was ambiguity on whether a feature was included, Highland "owned it" and provided the feature at no additional charge. To summarize, my wife and I had an excellent experience working with the Highland team. Building a new home is always stressful. As experienced homebuyers, my family and I were eager to embark on this journey, but it proved to be a mix of challenges and positives. The process highlighted varying levels of service across different stages, which I’ll detail below. Ultimately, while some aspects fell short, others exceeded our expectations, leading to a completed home we’re proud of. The sales phase was unfortunately the most disappointing part of our experience, primarily due to our interactions with Kelly. She was consistently non-responsive to emails, often taking days or weeks to reply, if at all. Verbally, her information was inaccurate, and she frequently contradicted her own statements in follow-up emails regarding the sales process. This lack of consistency eroded any confidence we had in her guidance, making the initial steps feel chaotic and unreliable. In contrast, the contracting and construction phases were handled exceptionally well by Jonathan, who restored our faith in the process. He was highly responsive to emails, texts, and phone calls, addressing every concern promptly and thoroughly. Jonathan invested significant time sitting down with us to ensure all specific details were accurately captured and implemented. His respectful and understanding approach in every customer service interaction made him the standout highlight of our Highland Homes experience, and we would wholeheartedly recommend him to others. Financing and closing were smooth and efficient, thanks to Nancy’s outstanding support. She excelled in communication, providing timely and clear updates throughout. Her accuracy with data and documentation gave us peace of mind during these critical final stages. We appreciated her professionalism and would be happy to work with her again on any future endeavors. In summary, our Highland Homes journey had its ups and downs, but the dedication of team members like Jonathan and Nancy made a significant difference. To rate the key individuals: Kelly receives one star for her poor performance, Jonathan earns five stars for his exemplary service, and Nancy gets four stars for her reliable assistance. Renee and Lane were great to work with and made the experience significantly better.

The sales agents were great to work with during the buying process. Also, the finace agents were great to work with. The construction manager got changed during the process. I am not happy with the following items: 1. The towel rod is in the master toilet room, not placed next to the tub. Reason from the manager: The trim person is not allowed to drill into tile, because it could crack. This maybe true, but the window blind installer did it and the shower installer did it. This made think about the skill level of the workers. This is a high end home builder, therefore they will have very skillful workers. The manager should get the shower installer put in the towel rod. 2. The light switches in the master toilet room and the second bathroom are placed far away from the door, it got placed more than 2 feet away from the door. Reason from the manager: There are studs in the way to move the wires. Yes this is true, but it can get rewire. 3. The keyhole for the interior garage door is upside down. Reason from the manager: This is how we build all of the homes. The process to change the keyhole is very simple. I had to do it, it took 5 minutes. I would not have purchase this house, if I knew that the above items could not get resolved. I feel it should have be caught early in the building process. ... More

I debated between Highland Homes and another builder. Very glad I went with Highland though the cost ws a little more. Ii feel ike I received a quality home and the builder Mike and thee agent Kira seemed to make every effort to make sure I received a quality home and had an easy process. They were both helpful with suggestions which I appreciated as I had never had a home built before.

Quality of the construction could have been better. I have seen a lot of minor issues within the first month of moving in. However, I do appreciate the responsiveness towards fixing the issues.

The buying process was great. Sales people worked well with us and our realtor giving us much incentives and access to the home to check and review it. At move in our project / builder manager was always available ensuring details were addressed and fixed. All working as expected. Nice to have the support as you move in and get familiar with your new home.

Lots of ups and downs with finalizing the home. No fault or disrespect to the highland team. Michael was fantastic to work with and was very responsive with issues that arose and resolved them as quickly as possible.

Everyone we have worked with at Highland Homes has been incredible!! We purchased at Cross Creek West and originally met with Virginia at Jordan Ranch and she was absolutely incredible! We needed to buy a quick move in, so we ended up finding the right one in cross creek west with Manny! He was fantastic as well! I would highly recommend either of these sales professionals!!! David was hands down the most patient construction manager I have met and super detail oriented!!! Douglas with the loan was seamless! We purchased an inventory home from Highland that was about 95% complete when we went under contract. With a 30-day closing, there wasn’t much time between completion and move-in. We only met with the builder once prior to the final walk-through, which took place just a few hours before closing. During that walk, I identified several issues that needed correction before closing. Unfortunately, after closing, most of those items still hadn’t been completed. I had to take additional time off work on multiple occasions to have those items addressed. That said, the overall **quality of the home itself is excellent**, and I would still **highly recommend Highland for their craftsmanship and product quality**. However, the **builder and sales team’s communication and follow-up could definitely be improved**. We also had a disappointing experience with our sales representative. After our loan approval, we never heard from her again—no updates, no congratulations, not even a message on closing day. She wasn’t available to hand us our keys, so we had to pick them up from someone we’d never met at the model home. We’ve even seen her since, showing nearby homes, but she still hasn’t acknowledged us. In summary, we love our new home and the quality Highland delivers, but the customer service experience fell short. ... More
