Highland Homes is a known high-end home builder which is what attracted us to this builder and Artavia location. Our experience with Kelly, our salesperson was fantastic. She was very perfessional, knew all the home purchasing details, and gave us every opportunity to make a sound decision. Once we purchased, our experience with Jimmy, our home construction manager was also a great experience. He kept us informed throughout the build process and answered all our questions. Our appointments along the way were timely, very informative, and gave us the opportunity to discuss and address any concerns we may have had. Buying my home with Highland Homes has been one of the best home-buying experiences I've ever had, and so much of that is because of the incredible team I worked with. My Construction Manager, Brendin, has been outstanding from day one. He is always available, incredibly responsive, and consistently follows through on everything he says he'll do. He genuinely listens, takes the time to understand any questions or concerns, and makes you feel like you're his top priority. It's clear that he truly cares about the quality of the home and the experience of the homeowner. My Sales Counselor, Kyle, was equally exceptional. From our very first conversation, he was upfront, honest, and transparent. He gave me real numbers—no surprises or sales tactics—and helped me make informed decisions throughout the entire process. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was seamless, from helping me find the perfect home to guiding me through financing. What impressed me most is that his support didn't end at closing. He continued to check in afterward to make sure everything was going well, which speaks volumes about his commitment to his customers. Building with Highland Homes was one of the best decisions we made. From the design center to the day we received our keys, every step of the process was organized, transparent, and enjoyable. Our construction manager (Dave) was exceptional—communicative, professional, and genuinely committed to building our home the right way. The number of items we've had to flag both before and after closing, and the amount of subcontractor follow‑up required, feels unreasonable. It's starting to seem like a broader quality‑control issue, which is really disappointing.

Sales rep, Troy, is an amazing guy with a great personality. He made the process tolerable which I gave a star. I expected high quality work and since moving, there have been multiple issues, albeit, minor issues but worries me that there may be major issues down the road. Initially had rodents in the house because during construction, doors were left open, food from workers was found in the home, etc. A hole was found in the subfloor and was told it was fixed. Carpet was added but when pulled up, the hole was still there (lost stars for trustworthiness). Home is not sealed well around doors and windows. Cracking of caulk already happening just 3 months since moving. Door knobs loose and needed to be tightened. ***** fixtures and areas where paint did not get multiple coats. Landscaping is also below expected standards - back yard is not graded well, very lumpy/bumpy. Beyond the backyard is a breeding ground for rodents, mosquitoes and other pests because of the high grass and standing water/river. The grounds are not very well kept around our area. They took our deposit and had us select our designs from the design center, and then didn't build it for us. Only after pressing them on why our home wasn't being started yet did they reveal to us they had decided not to build on that lot at all. Very disappointing. No other like lot and floorplan were available either, so we never did get to build the home we'd designed. Extremely disappointing and a true trust-destroying experience.

Contracting the home was flawless, property was three months delayed, construction was good except on a Few communication issues and closing had issues (communication between sells agent and finance group)

I worked with Christine and Ericka for sales. They were pretty responsive and helpful. Provides thoughts and suggestions. Then got to work with one of the best construction manager, *****. He was super attentive and knew even a small thing from his memory. He made sure all my concerns were addressed by respective parties. He even provided with suggestions that really matters and helped me save some bucks on useless stuff.

We were under the impression that Highland Homes is the best builder in the DFW metroplex area. Apparently, we were wrong. We have been in our home for approximately 30 days but have been faced with several issues. We have had to call the plumber twice, balance the air twice and multiple paint touch ups. Overall, we feel there was severe lack of supervision from Highland Homes construction team. We have had an excellent sales experience but the construction experience wasn't the best. Our garage door is already creaking.

I'm a month and a half in on my new home, my thermostat was placed in the master bedroom, which is causing humidity in my home. My AC was also installed wrong per the AC company. I would have my thermostat at 69 and it felt like 75 degrees in my house. My toilet seat in my son's bathroom was stained yellow before use. Master bathroom toilet seat has paint drippings on it, just found that. My toilet in the master bedroom was also leaking because the tank was never screwed in properly.

We love the floor plan of single story with very high ceilings. Makes the home feel much larger than it is. Narrow doorways and smaller secondary bedrooms are not an issue. Generously sized windows across the back is the main focus. We love nature and enjoy living with in it.

Big or small we were encouraged to point out concerns we had as we saw them come up. Our builder was very responsive with every concern and questions we had during the building process. Almost every issue he was already on top of when we sent him a message. He has still been very supportive with questions we have had arise since closing.

Professional and friendly communication from Sales, Construction, and Lender. We felt informed and valued throughout the entire process and we LOVE our Highland home!

Our builder was amazing and Mindy was amazing, we almost walked from highland homes due to our bad experience in Celina, but Mindy reassured us that we will be taken care of.
