Highland homes really deliver an exceptional product at a very competitive timeline. Their build quality and attention to detail puts them amongst the best home builders in Dallas and their team here at wildflower Ranch really excel. Big shout out to their management team specifically Trey, the project manager and Julie with sales.

My search for a home took some time but I chose Highland because my realtor said that they were the best builder around this area. Some of the choices in design leave me scratching my head but I’m making some changes there. My concern is the quality of the build overall. The home is less than a year old and it has several cracks in the bedroom where the ceiling meets the roof line. My neighbor has a jagged crack inside where the balcony floor meets the living room and cracks in her pantry where the shelf supports meet the wall. That house is also less than a year old. There is also a concern with the way my electrical has been installed. Loose bare wires in units as well as nicks in wiring were found when installing ceiling fans and dimmers. I will probably end up checking all outlets and switches to make sure they’re secure due to issues some of my other neighbors have had. These homes are being thrown up so quickly that I feel quality control is not being maintained. So far issues I’ve had have been addressed promptly except the cracks and I’ve brought that up recently. The entire ceiling seam should be redone. These homes are not cheap and shouldn’t have these kinds of problems so soon after construction. At least it’s still under warranty but what will happen after the year is up? ... More

Did not know much about Highland homes when we decided to buy. Everything was built as scheduled with no surprises. Some of the options available were not very clear until specifically asked. Sales could improve providing information on options like extra bedroom or outdoor changes etc., that are available. Satisfied with the overall quality of the build so far in the couple of months since we moved. The project manager has been very responsive to all minor issues found during inspection and after moving.

The sales rep at Highland Homes was mediocre. Once I signed the contract I never heard from him again. I closed on November 26, and I was just given the information to set up my key pad and alarm system on 1/27/25 from the builder. Shane and the warranty department was great and fixed my issues in a timely manner. I work for a builder and was honestly appalled at the service, considering the great reputation of Highland Homes. The reason why I bought this home honestly is because of the community, my lender Reggie and the house was designed to my liking. We were extremely nervous to buy from a homebuilder again, as our first experience was very unpleasant. Highland worked with us every step of the way, was super responsive, and accommodated our wishes (like our external inspector that came to every inspection). We live in a mixed neighborhood of various homebuilders, and you can tell which are Highland Homes. The quality is absolutely higher. We did lots of Googling and review-reading prior to selecting Highland, and it was a great decision. They are also super responsive after the fact and have taken good care of us. We have had issue after issue. Some of our service requests have been submitted multiple times. We have received a faulty water faucet a total of 3 times! We have still not received our gold lighting that was in our signed contract after 3 months of being in our home. Our roof leaked after the snow day which left our ceiling stained. The buying experience was great but the service sucks! I gave it two stars because our sales consultant was wonderful. It’s after buying the home that’s been the most stressful! This home cost too much money to have this many problems.

Highland builds a great house. There were a few instances where there were inadvertent mistakes made with the incorrect material shipped that got installed. Once Highland found out, they quickly replaced the product to our satisfaction, no questions asked. We get an update each week providing information on what was completed that week and what's on the work schedule for the next week. It's been a great experience and I would highly recommend Highland to anyone looking to build a new home.

I’ll start with the positives and say the ladies (Debbie & Lindsay) in the sales office were amazing. Best experience we had when it comes to home-buying. They were on top of their game and pleasant to work with. Doug Dreiman was great and continues to answer our questions three months after closing. However, we’re disappointed with our home experience after closing. Most service requests have been fulfilled in a timely manner. However, there are details in and outside our home that lack quality and remain to be resolved. We flagged issue before closing that were told were resolved but were ignored. WE have trusses sticking out on our roof and told that’s just what it is. The white trim boards in our home were poorly installed with nails and blemishes that are noticeable. We had a used dishwasher in our home that was registered to someone else, were told no reason to cover up the cracked grout on the foundation because it will crack, and found a broken shower rod in a restroom but was told it’s better to buy one ourselves. Three months into our home and we’re still waiting on items we flagged before closing. I would highly recommend not to close or sign till the house is to your liking. I would also recommend hiring your own inspector, not sure if Highland resolved issues on their inspection report. ... More

The issues we have are all post move-in for and finish and the lack of responsiveness and caring. Things were told to us that never occurred or multiple tickets were submitted for the same issue over the course of weeks. At week eight there are still unresolved issues from move in.

Buying from Highland Homes has been our first new home purchase and one of our easiest home purchases ever. They are upfront, honest, and not pushy. All concerns have been addressed quickly. We are very excited to start fresh near family without the worry of constant home maintenance.

Michael Construction manager and Jonathan Home warranty and the rest of the Highland Home family have given us outstanding customer service. Always professional, friendly, and very pleasant and easy to deal with. The whole home buying process has been very stress free. Highly recommend this Home Builder. This is my fourth home to own and the overall best home.

I had a very positive experience with the Sales person Sia. Not only was he was very knowledgeable about the build process but was very helpful and understanding. Sia went out of his way to accommodate our needs which was very refreshing. I cannot thank Sia enough for working with us and for his helpful nature. The construction build process was a little disappointing since they changed 3 construction managers on us from start to finish. The quality of construction especially during framing process was not good. Several build issues that were called out by the third party inspection report were not fixed even though I was given assurance that it was fixed. The issues were carried over towards the end of the build process and were challenging to fix them at the final stage. The architectural part of the floor plan could have been better in some areas like Master Bathroom, cabinets and front entrance. I strongly encourage for the architects to take a hard look and make improvements. Thanks to construction managers Tim J and Ryan A for being helpful and making appropriate suggestions. Miguel (builder) has been wonderful. He has been thorough, responsive and patient. I feel that he takes my questions seriously and cares about the quality of the home as well as my experience in the entire build process.

The process from the initial purchase to final move-in was smooth and well-organized. The builder kept everything on schedule, and there were no major surprises along the way. They made what could have been a stressful experience much easier for us. The quality of the home is excellent, with attention to detail throughout. It’s clear that they used high-quality materials and didn’t cut corners. For the price, we feel we got exceptional value, and we’re proud to call this place home. The builder’s team was fantastic to work with. They were professional, courteous, and always available to address any questions or concerns. Highland Homes team did a phenomenal job from start to finish! Highland’s construction manager did a great job keeping the home construction on schedule and weekly progress reports kept us informed throughout construction.

Having built a home in the past and later moving to another custom home, we did not see ourselves as ever purchasing a home from a large builder like Highland. But due to a time restraint, we ended up doing just that. Highland is one of the few builders not using stucco and they are responsive, professional and caring.

I signed the home purchase contract on February 11, 2024 and closed on October 10, 2024. I hired an inspector before my final walkthrough. Unfortunately, the gas pipe to the heater was not even connected for testing on October 1. Having great respect for Highland Homes as a Trusted builder, we took their promise that the heater would working and it shouldn’t be a concern. We are very disappointed when I had to suffer 2 days without the working heater for my new home when the temperatures plunged to 19 degrees outside. The house inside temperature dropped to 49 degrees in the morning and finally reached 51 for the high on January 6 and January 7, 2025, which caused us great pain and suffering as I was concerned for my 87 year old mother, who I care for ,living in such a cold conditions. ... I have used Highland Homes on three different occasions with the previous home being built 30 years ago. All three previous experiences were very positive so selecting them last year for my 4th home was a no brainer. I didn't even show around. I realize building standards are not the same as it was 30 and 40 years ago, but this most recent experience took my off guard. Covid really took its tole on the building industry back in 2020 with equipment and materials being in very short supply and the workforce down to skeleton crews in many instances. Four years later the industry has definitely recovered, but with some disappointing changes. The first eye opening experience was during my selection process. The standard options were selections that were sub-par and in many cases, outdated. Upgrading to a more dated selection cost dearly, even for a slightly higher material. Due to the high prices, many times I kept with the standard selection and scarified what I really wanted. After a short time I felt like I was in the middle of a bait and switch scheme. It became almost laughable. By the time I completed the selection process I was very disappointed and frustrated. The next eye opening change came with the cabinets. If there was a corner to cut - literally - it was taken. The width and depth are much much less than in any previous home. Case in point, there are drawers in the master bath that are 2-1/2" wide by 3" deep - just enough room for a tube of toothpaste if you place it on it's side but not enough room to include your toothbrush. If a dollar could be saved, they were sure to take that route. There were additional upgrades I had not considered until that particular phase of construction was in progress. For example, the plumber was installing the plumbing fixtures when I realized the standard size garbage disposal was a 1/3hp unit. I am accustomed to a 3/4hp so I asked what my cost would be to install a larger size. Their markup was 300% above a reasonable price! Requesting any upgraded material or equipment during construction was at least a 300% increase! This was extremely frustrating. Eventually I purchased upgraded materials and equipment on my own and hired a contractor after closing to install for significantly less than if I had let Highland do the work. Personally I believe this is wrong on so many different levels and is unacceptable. And finally, I believe there were a few subcontractors that were not at the level I had expected from Highland. There were times I felt they selected a different subcontractor just to keep the project moving because their usual sub was not available. This is merely my opinion and may not be the case at all, but it sure felt that way with a few "high profile" subcontractors. My field superintendent was a great guy! He did everything he could to satisfy my requests. If I was disappointed with the installation quality, he would have them re-do it. That level of customer satisfaction went a long way with me and I was very grateful for his consideration. The four and five stars given in my review were because of him. ... More

After dealing with a horrible builder (Centre living homes) Highland homes was a breathe of fresh air. I highly recommend them customer service was incredible.

I love the quality of my home. Buying process was easy, professional and cordial. I was carried along through out the building and buying process. I love the after sales service which I need as a first time Home buyer. Will do investment property with High Homes.
