The materials used in the house are acceptable, but there is no good construction team to bring out the best in them. There are too many areas in the house that need improvement, many walls do not look new, and the attitude of the house inspection supervisor is extremely bad!

Ok, I have been buying total of 7 homes so far in my life. This is only home builder made me recommend my home builder to people. Sale office staff was amazingly professional and updating every single thing so I didn’t have to check on the progress. The sale staff did go above and beyond truly. And the home was very well built. I bought 2600 square feet 2 story home. Highland didn’t waste any space in the house. High quality finishes. The best part is the warranty care. After I move in, there must be little issues but the project manager Eric baker has been amazing. He personally takes care of every little thing within 24 hours. It was pretty much same day service for warranty repairs. I was so amazed. I never seen the service like this. Best experience I have ever had building a home. This was my 5th time building a home and had the best time doing it. No stress no worries the process was seamless thanks to Kim Edna Beth and Dave. The quality is more than what I expected and they were willing to listen to the changes I wanted to make this my forever home. I can not say enough about Highland Homes and the team I worked with.

Entire team was very responsive from the beginning to closing. Responsiveness continues as we have had a few small warranty items that were addressed very quickly. Can't say enough good things about the entire experience with Highland Homes.

I recently purchased a new property from Highland Homes, and I must say, the experience has been extremely disappointing. Here's why: 1. Poor Workmanship: The quality of the construction is far below what one would expect for the price. Numerous issues have arisen, from uneven flooring to poorly finished walls and faulty plumbing. It’s evident that the craftsmanship is subpar. 2. Low Quality Materials: The materials used in the construction of the home are of low quality. Doors, windows, and fixtures all feel cheap and have already begun to show signs of wear and tear within a short period of moving in. 3. High Prices: The cost of the home is exorbitant compared to the quality delivered. You are essentially paying a premium price for what amounts to substandard housing. 4. Poor Responsiveness: Trying to get issues addressed by the builder has been a nightmare. Customer service is unresponsive, and when they do respond, the solutions are either inadequate or delayed significantly. 5. Lack of Trustworthiness: Overall, the experience has left me with a deep sense of mistrust towards Highland Homes. They make grand promises during the sales pitch, but fail to deliver on almost every front. In conclusion, I would not recommend Highland Homes to anyone looking for a new property. The experience was the worst I have ever had in buying a home. Our realtor, Hector and my finance person didn’t get a long, they were pointing fingers at who was at fault, Hector went so far to add me and my wife on the email chain, and the result ended up causing us to miss closing and having to move twice. We emailed Hector’s boss about how unprofessional this was and his boss still to this day has never acknowledged or responded.. No one cared that all the unprofessional behavior cost us, the buyer, thousands of dollars to move and store our items until we could get closed. The VA inspector reached out to Hector for a week, with NO response, then when Hector finally responded and scheduled the inspector the home did NOT have appliances. The house has had several issues, that if anyone really looked they would have been fixed, 2 doors with door handles uneven, one much higher than the other. Underneath cabinets paneling falling off, paint was sloppy, the painters have been back several times. The yard has an open ticket now, our grass is dead, we noted this in walk through. I would never buy another Highland home or recommend Highland. ... More

The purchasing process and initial negotiations were fantastic. As newcomers to the US, we received substantial support and guidance on how to navigate the home-buying process, which differs significantly from what we’re accustomed to in our home country. Once the terms were agreed upon, things proceeded relatively smoothly. However, as the closing date approached, our experience took a turn for the worse. The initially agreed-upon numbers suddenly increased significantly, with a considerable hike in the total house value causing a major dispute among all parties involved. Despite the challenges, we persisted, and at the last minute, the numbers came down closer to the original agreement—though not quite the same. The Construction Manager has been excellent, addressing our concerns and providing support when needed. Overall, Highland Homes is a reputable company with an impressive sales process and diligent construction follow-up, albeit with some room for improvement in materials and a less-than-ideal lender company. ... my family truly enjoy new house. Quality of materials is great. appliances, faucets are perfectly selected by a builder, well balanced cabinet colors. Also worth to highlight seamless communication and positive experience with a construction team. Guys, you're doing great.

Jon, the salesman, was shady and would tell us whatever he thought would get us to sign. Fortunately for us, we always recorded and/or had a witness present to validate our statements. We had to deal directly with the regional lead to finally come to a resolution, including intentionally misleading us regarding the 20k incentive. He was just as deceptive regarding what changes we could make (we wanted a circular tub). After our earnest deposit cleared, it came to light that we couldn’t do that. He also misled us by 2 weeks regarding closing (the date changed within a week after we went under contract and the construction manager had no idea why the salesman had fabricated the completion date). After we moved inC we had continuous issues with the air conditioners and plumbing (hot water would either take more than 6 minutes to actually get hot, or we would lose the hot water mid-shower). It took at least 3 attempts per issue to make progress. We will see if the latest bandaids work or not. Of note, the construction managers (David and Caleb) have been amazing through it all and are the only reason we haven’t already filed suit against highland. ... More

Things not completed on time. Poor workmanship. Poor delivery. Poor quality of craftsmanship. Poor commitment to homeowner! No ETA. After 3 months into the home, still have so many issue pending. You have forced me to decide that I don't want to live in this house for longer than I have to. No one even thinks like that for a rental home.

Overall we are happy with our home but we do have some things we are very disappointed with. This is the first home we did not build from the ground up and we know things won’t be perfect but there are issues, the dining room light isn’t centered which will look bad when a table is properly placed in the room. There is paint all over door knobs and stoppers, the quality of the paint job on some doors and trim is very poor with dried paint dripping showing. There is a big texture patch in the laundry room where they either got the texture applied wrong or had to patch the area and didn’t texture good. Some doors are warped. Some door trim cuts do not align or the boards are damaged. In the master bath above the mirror there are sunken anchors in the wall above the mirror as if they had something placed there before but then removed it and then they painted over the anchors. The landscaping is a hodge podge of various plants with no rhyme or reason to them. These are all things we have discovered after being in the home, we did do a walk through and MANY things were addressed and fixed before we moved in but there are obvious things that can be missed during that walkthrough and that is what I am describing in this review. ... We just bought a highland home in crosswinds and the overall experience has been great with Highland homes. I would definitely recommend buying a Highland home to all my friends and family.

Love the design of our home but it’s been an absolute headache dealing with so many issues that need to be fixed. Tired of having workers in and out of my house nearly 3 months after closing. Many of these issues could have been avoided with just a little competence in project management. I’m sure we’ll love our home long term but the process getting there has been terrible

The materials are cheap. Replaced light fixtures in bedroom with ceiling fans and the fixtures were plastic and could not be more than $10. This is throughout the house - I could go on. The warranty department is non responsive. Still waiting for a response and have left serveral messages. The air conditioner is not working properly and will be the 3rd call directly to the company they picked.

From the initial sales visit with Brittany….. weekly progress reports from Brittany and Hunter…,.. now follow up on minor issues with the home, couldn’t ask for better service and responsiveness. So happy with our home and the location!!!

It was an overall great experience from start to finish.

The sales rep,Ginger, was delightful and helpful. Highland homes was willing to do a contingent contract and give us time to get our house closed. The builder rep, Luis, was extremely responsive and helpful. He wanted to make sure we were totally satisfied with our home and experience. We LOVE our home; it’s beautiful!
