Highland Homes was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. They were always professional and yet personable knowing it was my future home they were constructing. I found the construction managers to honest to the highest degree and were always attuned to my concerns and issues. Regular contact and updates as to the construction status was greatly appreciated, as I was living out of state prior to my move. The quality of construction is exceptional and clearly superior to other builders in this same community. I highly recommend Highland Homes.

As compared to other builders I have dealt, the Highland team was top notch. Very attentive to me as a homebuyer but also making sure that they communicated effectively along every step of the way. The quality of the finished product far exceeds what wwe expected and friends and familly that have beenover have been wowed to the point of considering Highland for their own future homes. I HIGHLY recommend Highland Homes.

From the first time we visited Highland we were impressed. We visited several different locations in Colorado and Texas. The sales teams were very professional and friendly. We finally bought in Wildridge in Oak Point. The entire process was handled very well from contract to close. The building timeframe was quick and despite weather issues, our home was built within 30 days of the original estimate. Design team was helpful in the selection of the many options for tile, wood, paint, etc. Building construction managers were amazing, providing regular updates and status reports. Sharing my experience with the builder right from day one, I decided to go with this builder based on past reviews in YouTube videos. I had read in a few places that they were one of the best in the price range I was looking to buy our home. However, my experience turned out to be bittersweet. The first discussion and contract signing process were too hurried due to high demand and limited available lots. The sales agent even threatened to cancel the contract if it wasn't signed the next day. Moving on to the design studio, there weren't many choices available. The IBB design studio appeared disorganized, and the designer consultants seemed focused on rushing through the process. They stressed the importance of finishing the design within a stipulated time, or else we would be charged extra per hour for any delays. Then came the building process. Initially, our builder seemed nice, but after the concrete foundation was poured, they started rushing everything. They would threaten us to confirm certain selections immediately, or they would default to the standard builder-grade options. Many selections were not offered or given a choice, such as tinted bathroom windows. Our corner lot with a bathroom facing the main road could have benefited from a frosted window, but this option was never discussed. Another example was the insulated garage, which was offered to some buyers but not given as a choice to many, even though we were willing to pay for it. These are just a few examples, but there were many other missed opportunities that are difficult to cover. There were also construction inputs that were overruled or ignored. For instance, there was a sharp wooden stair end that posed a safety risk, especially for crawling babies. Lighting fixture and kitchen selection processes were confusing, and neither the builder nor the salespeople had a clear idea of what would be provided versus what was available. The building quality was average compared to other builders, as we often hear squeaky floors on the second floor, which indicates a lack of quality. Unfortunately, this is not covered under the warranty. The lawn was very poor, with hardly any topsoil. We noticed that sprinkler pipes were above ground and openly lying on top of the lawn. The backyard was uneven, causing water to not flow properly. Additionally, we opted for LVP flooring on the first floor, but in several places, we can clearly see that the flooring is floating and sinks down when stepped on. The builder informed us that LVP flooring would be floating, but the execution seems flawed. Overall, we noticed that our builder did not maintain a consistent standard for building homes. They would offer certain things for free to one buyer but charge the same amount to another buyer. They were not consistent across buyers and showed favoritism. Building a home is a big and lengthy process, and while we understand that each model comes with its own selections, the lack of consistency was disappointing. The electrical selection company, Highland Homes, was also a disappointment. They did not provide any choices and failed to educate many new buyers on what was needed or advise on certain selections. I will preface this message by saying our experience with the sales counselor, Thea, and on site construction supervisor. Chuck, has been positive. However, I don’t believe that our Highland home was/is a good value. There were issues before we moved in. There have been issues that we continue to deal with and new items of poor quality and craftsmanship seem to surface almost daily. We had heard very positive comments about the quality of Highland homes, and I believe in other homes, that’s accurate, however, this home does not appear to have been built in the same manner. My list of items to be addressed continues to grow, but we really would like someone at the corporate level to either come to our house or talk with us directly about these ongoing issues and overall poor quality. This marks our second experience as homeowners with a Highland Home. Our initial encounter with a Highland Home was around 2013, a few years after we tied the knot and embarked on homeownership together as a couple. Following the sale of our first home, we consistently found ourselves measuring subsequent residences against the standard set by Highland Home in terms of quality, space utilization, and overall aesthetic appeal. Everything was great, both Denise and Nick were great. Home is spaced and functions as expected. I appreciate the build quality and workmanship. The house was expensive, but what isn't these days?

The sales councilor (Pat) worked hard to get us in this home with all the features and upgrades we asked for. The construction managers we worked with were hard working and helped make the upgrades materialize as we wished. The only downsides with having this house built is the yard is not smooth and lower around the back porch than it should be. And is also too low around some of the fence, allowing big gaps for the dog to get out. The house was not as clean as we hoped for when we moved in. Definitely not up to the mark. Being premium builder the cost is definitely higher than other builders in same neighborhood but we don’t see that difference in quality or features or finishing. The main complaint is the amateurish finishing overall and clearly shows that care was not shown and was rushed. They are good in responding to service requests.

We love our new home

We embarked on a journey with Highland Homes as our semi-custom builder for our first home; we had selected them due to all the positive reviews online, and we wanted to see it first-hand for ourselves. The experience didn't disappoint - we had a fantastic sales counselor (Traci) and a phenomenal construction manager (Neil). Traci was open, honest, and easy to work with during the contracting phase, and Highland Homes offered a competitive package (incentives, interest buy down, etc.). We understood what we were getting when we signed the contract. The design selection phase also went smoothly - the designer (Deborah) was super helpful, has a keen eye on style, and was an absolute pleasure to work with. The construction phase was also relatively smooth. The construction manager (Neil) was on top of things and always quickly addressed our concerns. We had a weekly call with the construction manager, and were able to understand where we were on the build process, and what type of challenges were ahead of us. The build went slightly past the scheduled date, but still within our move-in timeframe. Highland Homes was accommodating and made sure the build process met the date that we needed to move-in by. Overall, the quality of construction was pretty good. Of course, you can never control the crafts 100%, so sometimes you'll get the lousy craftsman, but Neil would always address it and get it fixed quickly. Fantastic management by Neil. Lastly, after move-in, we had punch-list items that needed to be completed after closing on the house. They were all relatively minor and have been resolved to our satisfaction. Great value for the money. The construction quality could use some improvement though. Sales manager was good and responsive until we got into contract but never heard back after that. Would have appreciated a more engaging team.

The Sales staff at Highland Homes were extremely helpful to my wife and I. From picking out the designs and the details of the house. To finalizing the house projections. I would like to thank Mrs. Deborah, Mrs. Susan for helping us.

a lot of care goes into the craftsmanship of the Highland home we purchased. when there were problems, they were addressed. no questions asked. they explained everything we needed to know.

Rich was awesome and made sure the buying processing and closing went smooth as possible. I was able to place contract and close within 30 days.Tyler is always responsive and educates you in the entire home before and after closing. Highland Homes really made this process smoother than my previous home purchase.

Our overall buying experience was good. We were thoroughly informed about our options throughout the process and our sales rep always handled himself professionally, being plenty patient with any of our inquiries. Where Highland Homes becomes “just another builder out to make a quick buck” is with the integrity that follows moving in. Every builder misses things, but we figured that given Highland Home’s reputation, things would be different when it came to home repairs. We were wrong. We have been dealing with an issue concerning one of our appliances tripping a breaker. Initially, we were told by our project manager that Highland Homes has been experiencing this due to a new code being passed. They sent an electrician and he “assessed” both the dryer and their breaker. They “swapped out” a breaker and left it at that. The dryer continues to trip the breaker and they have now pivoted to asking that we either replace a wire on an appliance that was previously working perfectly, or better yet, have that wire completely removed, making it a fire hazard. The luster of being a new homeowner via Highland Homes has quickly faded. So be warned if you expect them to live up to their word. It truly is a shame that people operate this way, especially after such a meaningful purchase, but these companies are always ultimately out to make a profit and look the other way when held accountable.
