I was able to place contract and close within 30 days.Tyler is always responsive and educates you in the entire home before and after closing. Highland Homes really made this process smoother than my previous home purchase.

Our overall buying experience was good. We were thoroughly informed about our options throughout the process and our sales rep always handled himself professionally, being plenty patient with any of our inquiries. Where Highland Homes becomes “just another builder out to make a quick buck” is with the integrity that follows moving in. Every builder misses things, but we figured that given Highland Home’s reputation, things would be different when it came to home repairs. We were wrong. We have been dealing with an issue concerning one of our appliances tripping a breaker. Initially, we were told by our project manager that Highland Homes has been experiencing this due to a new code being passed. They sent an electrician and he “assessed” both the dryer and their breaker. They “swapped out” a breaker and left it at that. The dryer continues to trip the breaker and they have now pivoted to asking that we either replace a wire on an appliance that was previously working perfectly, or better yet, have that wire completely removed, making it a fire hazard. The luster of being a new homeowner via Highland Homes has quickly faded. So be warned if you expect them to live up to their word. It truly is a shame that people operate this way, especially after such a meaningful purchase, but these companies are always ultimately out to make a profit and look the other way when held accountable. Like any new construction, you will find things that need attention. They will address it, no questions asked.

Right from signing to closing, always met happy faces at sales office, design center and at construction site. Amy and John were very accessible and provided honest responses to questions and concerns. Took care of our service requests in timely manner post-closing. Overall great build quality and experience! Will strongly recommend Highland homes !

Issues with cabinet paint and wood floors. Still trying to get repaired.

Everyone we spoke with was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the process. There were a few issues that needed to be fixed that were noted before closing. Upon closing and moving in, we noticed a lot of issues. The paint, trim, cabinets, and drywall work was very messy and it has been frustrating working with these vendors to get the work corrected. They are relatively minor issues, but are issues that would be pointed out by the next buyer. It’s an incredibly beautiful home, but we wish there was more attention to detail.

Everything during our home buying was extremely smooth from initial meeting with the salesman Zach in which case he is the absolute best to close. We couldn't have picked a better builder than Highland homes. Once our home was completed it was far above and beyond our expectations. We closed about 45 days ago and are still noticing little details in design that are absolutely fantastic! Highland is the way to go for a brand new home buying experience.

We thought we were buying a good quality home from a trustworthy builder, but we were totally off, it's been really painful starting from the permit submission that was not done on time and even worst the person accountable lied about it... We moved almost 8 weeks ago and still have pending thing to be fixed... The house floor plant is so beautiful but quality and how Highlands manages materials is a shame. Worth to highlight the Engineering interest to fix things but unfortunately he has too many things to do. The builder should reformulate it's strategy and try to get things done right first time. ... Working with Hector Duenas during sales negotiations and contract signature was very smooth. He was very helpful, responsive and solution oriented. Dealing with Highland Home Loans was not very pleasant. We had to work with 3 different people for several months. We asked 20% mortgage of the house value and at the last minute, 4 weeks prior to closing, our application was rejected which put us very stressful situation. There is a room to improve the screening & approval process at Highland Home Loans. In our case it should have taken 30 mins to accept or reject our application rather than months for a person with a basic financial knowledge. Our project manager Jonathan Mayfield was excellent. He explained us all civil & mechanical details related to the house, addressed any concerns or minor quality issues timely. He is very professional and supportive. It was a great pleasure working with Jonathan. There are few things to improve on quality & layout in or around the house. My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Highland homes. The builder went above and beyond from start to finish, and in particular, the construction manager, John was very detail-oriented and professional. The result? A very well constructed home that met all of our expectations and that we look forward to enjoying for years to come!

My experience hasn’t been good. I choose Highland because of their reputation, however they have NOT stood up to their name. There has been many errors and oversights throughout the entire process from incorrect ceiling heights, bathroom flooding, missing lights, texturing, painting etc., corrects are still being made which is NOT good howbeit some major and some minor. The contractors Do Not take pride or care in their work, their craftsmanship is poor which makes for a poor quality home. Maybe the more expensive lots have better builders and contractors but my experience has been awful. I’m sadden to say because this is my home and investment and I expected better or at least good but instead it’s just ok. I would not recommend this builder. ... More

Buying experience was awesome….Highland Homes are great homes as expected with their modern designs…our construction manager Juan is great with helping us with any questions as needed…the closing date was on time or earlier as promised….overall we are very happy with our builder Highland Homes and would highly recommended to future buyers

This is to be our final home to retire in and it was important that it was built the way we wanted it and with quality. So glad we chose Highland! Everyone on their team has been fantastic from beginning to end. Avery Turek was an awesome salesperson. She saw our vision of what we wanted and worked hard to get us what we needed. Once building, Whitaker took over and took us through to the end. Sure there were bumps in the road along the way but Highland always stepped in and made things right. Marion, my builder, has been very responsive taking care of my concerns, which haven’t been many. She genuinely cares about satisfying her homeowners!

For the price I paid and the interest on the loan, they should have taken more time to perfect the completions; have more space in the bathroom design, more patio space, and even a study room. Also, for the cost of the HOA we should have an indoor pool that we could use all year round.
