Make sure you get your own home inspector!

Our sales counselor Meghan was very easy to work with and did a great job explaining the various aspects of the home. Chris, the construction manager, was quite knowledgeable and responsive to our questions after closing. We couldn’t be more pleased with our purchase experience.

I had awesome experiences with sales (Val) and walk through with the builder (Mike). Mike and Val have been responsive to all my questions and completed any actions that were needed. Val has made me feel welcome in the community with her kindness, reminders, and holiday greetings. More than happy with my new home.

From Virginia/Bonnie to Andreas and Will, my experience has been wonderful. I love my home it is so beautiful from the plan to the choices the designer made in the home, the backyard—the width and the depth of the backyard. everything is beautiful. Andreas and Will have been responsive and very efficient. I’m thrilled. I couldn’t be happier… Will is the best such a doll. He cares. I’ve never seen such responsiveness and follow-ups. This is our 2nd highland home. Both our builder and community manger were awesome. They helped much with all my change requests and really got us the home we wanted. I would have asked for various changes way after contract signing and all these changes were accommodated. Ever after closing, my builder was very helpful in taking care of fixes that home required. Great team and service; very honest and trustworthy.

Our family felt prioritized and taken care of when purchasing our home. If we had questions, then they were answered. The team is very supportive and understanding. Thank you!

Sales Team was exceptional. From the day I toured the model homes to the day I moved in to my new home, the builder's team members were very attentive to my needs. The quality of the home is well worth the price.

My family homebuying experience was personally the smoothest out of all the homes we have purchased despite issues with the in house lender approving and rescinding the approval closer to our original close date. Nichol C was excellent from the start until our closing date. He’s truly an asset to Highland Homes because he really took it personal when it seemed like the deal was done. Just when we thought it was over officially he helped us navigate through this tremendous hiccup & led us to such a wonderful person. Natalee D who was able to assist us in getting this deal completed. Mattew B was awesome as well despite us not being able to get the deal done with him. Highland Homes would not consider moving light switches lower or making bathroom doorways wider to accommodate federal ADA disability requirements. A compromise was offered but required an unreasonably large deposit. As a result, our elderly relatives who use a wheelchair have difficulty navigating our new house. Builder misunderstood change order for placement of additional outdoor lighting. We were charged nearly $600 for them to make the correction. Builder has very responsive to minor defects since taking ownership. One issue persists, though, causing our kitchen to smell like raw sewage whenever the dishwasher is run. We will continue to watch for signs of water intrusion on the interior, likely seeping through weep holes in the brick, which is causing window frames to be wet inside the walls (discovered when drilling pilot holes for drapes). ... I find Tm and Dalton to be very helpful in the process. Any issues that have come up Dalton has been amazing dealing with it.

The manager was fantastic even after closing he helped me.

it was our first new home buying experience , from the day we saw the house and met Tim and his team, we are in love with Highland homes..they did great job both in communications and quality of work. we started to value more as we learn more on other builder issues and look back with ours..we appreciated much. thank you HighLand - Homes team (Tim team) and HighLand - Home Loan team (Hank Team) you all are awesome

Builder associates, construction manager and workers are very good in responding to the requests and had a very really good experience. But the quality of the material is not good and very much disspointing.

The experience overall was very stressful, and it didn’t need to be. There was a lack of communication; questions never answered, problems not addressed in a timely fashion that would have saved Highland time and money, and would have given us an enjoyable experience. The quality of materials used and craftsmanship of the installation of the materials was mostly poor. Very disappointing in such careless, lack of pride for their trade and other trades. Most tradesmen didn’t know their craft. Nor did they respect the home of the future buyer or us the buyer. An example would be wood trim and cabinetry warped, still finding counter top dings (that is now not covered in warranty), uneven walls, and not all the warped wood was removed and replaced. I would tell a new buyer to document everything, take lots of pictures, hire your own inspector before close and before your year is up while you are still in warranty. Going forward it is questionable if I would buy a highland home. Maybe…with the right building team. ... More

I love the floor plan options, the experience with the sales team was simple and straightforward (no pressure). The construction project manager was awesome and very responsive throughout the construction and was very accommodating to my needs. When it comes to the quality of contractors' work, only a few were careful with their quality of work. Most of the contractors (painters, carpenters, dry wall people etc.) very VERY SLOPPY. I just don't understand how they would simply miss the spots that were either damaged during the construction or didn't get textured/or missed paint. I had to point out a lot of things that shouldn't have been there to begin with, and even then had to call back the painters a few times because they still kept missing regardless of the blue tape. While I am happy with overall purchase, very dissatisfied with the quality of work. However, I do appreciate the construction manager because he still takes care of any issues that I point out, and that really makes up for the sloppy work of the contractors. ... More

Highland homes used cheap third party companies to do their work like plumbing etc. it’s all lazy work and we found many issues after we moved into the new house. They didnot fix any issues that we have raised . They just say yes to your request and will not implement them later. Totally waste of money and we are extremely disappointed with the purchase. Please stay away from highland homes even when you are getting a better price because you will have to pay for repairs due to cheap quality

Colin was able to address our issues and concerns immediately. He has great communication and gets things done promptly. We really appreciate all his efforts to ensure we are satisfied with our new home.

Cabinets are worse than off the shelf Hone Depot or Lowe’s . Typical drywall and electric issues that a production builder does. Minimal oversight and although some stuff gets fixed, the overall house is way overpriced. At least we did not spend more for the same builder in another community.

Builder was very responsive to any issues I needed them to address. The selling agent was also always available and interested in our needs. The product was very good, except that some of the subs may have rushed. The door was not put on with a screw large enough to keep it from sagging, so until that was fixed the deadlock did not smoothly engage. The down spout pulled off the wall on the side of the house after the first big rain, and the paint on base boards around the floor blistered mysteriously, possibly cause by very small amounts of water (perhaps particle board?). However, Highland quickly acted to remedy all of these problems and was sympathetic to my concerns -- so I am satisfied. Even though Like the company, I have to be honest so I could not give them a 5 on quality of workmanship & materials. Perhaps this sort of problem happens with all builders. ... More

great home building company with exceptional customer service

Home buying experience with loan department and realtor was very pleasant. Felt as if they were trying their best to allow us the best opportunity to purchase the home, and made the loan process straight forward. Greatest challenge during process was working with Jason the project manager. His response time was poor, and was very inflexible in finding a time to meet with him. I had to do his ONE OPTION, and my concerns/schedule was of no priority to him whatsoever. The walkthrough was condescending how he instructed and went over the home features, and if anything discussed prior needed to be done I had to reach out multiple times just to have a change of it getting done.
