This is our second time building a home. Everything wasn’t perfect, however it was much better than our prior experience. Everyone we worked with were genuinely good people and anything that wasn’t right was corrected. Definitely a great experience!!

I like my house…best part is the fact Highland follows up on all my issues so far and has gone beyond to make sure we are taken care of. Any time my wife and I have an issue - all it takes is a phone call or a text to get a construction manager to quickly tend to our concern. What we really appreciated is ensuring - as simple as this sounds - we had our yard mowed for a month after moving in for free just to make sure we had some extra time to unpack and get situated after a tumultuous move. Well done

I had a great experience buying a highland home . it was a smooth experience right from signing the contract to closing the home . all he issues raised by me before closing and after the closing has been duly followed up and fixed by the warranty manager. Overall i had a great experience

At time of Final walkthrough there were +30 line items of things that needed to be done(e.g. All tile needed caulking, baseboards needed to be painted, melted outlets, chipped tiles, pantry shelves without supports) We pushed our closing date back for Highland to work on the house and we were told everything would be ready before the new closing date. We have spent the last 4 months taking off work to be at the house for contractors to FINISH our home... The builder I worked with was very unresponsive and never proactive. 2 of his superiors got involved and it always came across as if they just wanted to try defend the Highland Reputation instead of taking care of the customer buying the house. They were great-from beginning to walking into our home.

We chose Highland not only for the floor plan we liked, but because of the customization options we had available. We made a lot of changes and the home came out great. A home build is a complicated process and can be much more complicated when customizing. Patience and belief in the process is key, along with attention to the construction details and identifying issues before they are difficult to fix. All our issues were always addressed and the end result reflected both our self advocacy and responsiveness by our construction rep. We are very happy with our purchase.

Renee, our sales rep, Javier & Matt, our PMs, and Lane, our warranty specialist, all contributed to an outstanding buyer/build experience and aftercare service. This is a testament of the quality Highland Homes strives to achieve and the professionalism exhibited by my dream team!

Maybe I had too much expectations with highland home. I had so much issues that needed to be redone like the driveway painting the cabinets I have installed has a huge gap and they are telling that is how it will stay. Now I have drainage issue. For a new house the issues are just a lot.

The tile in the master bath was not up to par but he came back and made it look better. the first painters were terrible, there chaucking sucked but Harrison brought in another painter and they were great, we had a problem finding the brick must of the samples they didn't make anymore. All other issues were done except the floor they have it schedule some time in December

Overall great. Really no warranty issues 4 months since closing. Be sure to get 2 towel bars in your bathroom. For some reason they give you one - even though you have 2 sinks and 2 hand towel holders. Very happy with the house so far.

My wife and I are so grateful for our experience with Highland homes. Kim took excellent care of us and our project manager Jose made sure all went well through the process. Even after closing they continue to support us! We would definitely recommend Highland homes !

Wade our builder was great at keeping us updated during the build process and responding to our concerns. Went above and beyond in some cases and really appreciate the work that was done. However after close it's been a bit of a different story, the punch list that was supposed to be closed within 30 days is still outstanding. Some of this I understand is because he is busy and getting the trades aligned.

We are first time homeowners and we trusted Highland Homes for our first house but unfortunately it hasn’t been a good experience. We have been living in our new house for a little over 2 months and we have had people working here pretty much every week fixing things that were just poorly done. We pointed out those things on the blue tape walk through but they were not fixed so we had to go trough a lot of trouble to finally get them fixed. So far we have had 1 shower redone, the whole backyard redone, door frames, door hardware and we are still waiting for our curved island quartz to be replaced, floor tiles to be fixed because of the poor installation and the kitchen cabinet doors to be replaced as well. The quality of houses that HH is selling at least in this neighborhood is very very low and we just wish someone could have told us before buying from them. ... More

We are reasonably pleased. The 7 day in advance of close walk through to point out imperfections and then nothing after close is totally unreasonable

This was my 13th new home. The first by Highland Homes. What a great experience of having Highland Homes through this process. Darren and Jesse are fantastic. Not only is the workmanship and quality outstanding, the sales and building team keep you informed and aware of the stages of development. After living in homes built by other well known builders in the USA, none of them hold a light to Highland.....

I’m verbally your staff have never been helpful at all , we still have some issues that we had addressed when we made the deal , till now not fixed

Kept getting pressured to use preferred lender… My construction manager has came in and fixed the issues in a very timely manner but there’s just a lot of poor craftsmanship in the house and you would think buying a half a million home your cabinets wouldn’t be crooked you wouldn’t have holes in your closet your door would actually lock etc. etc.

Our journey to our Highland Home started when we were visiting Texas from California. My sister had just built a home in Royse City with another builder in a different sub-division and while visiting her, we stopped by the Highland Home model at Creekshaw. We were greeted by a very knowledgeable and friendly sales consultant, Angela C. My wife and I were very impressed with the quality and intelligent design of the home, with no wasted space. We immediately fell in love and did not even bother to visit the adjacent model homes from the two other builders. The highland Home checked off all the boxes. My wife and I both have family in the Dallas area and had been thinking of eventually putting some roots down in the area, but had no intention of building a home for several years. Angela C. took the time to get to know us, did a fantastic job educating us on the area and what differentiates a Highland Home from it's competitors. She was not pushy and always stressed that she wanted us to make a well informed decision. We left to go back home to California and stayed in touch with Angela C., who was always responsive and promptly addressed any questions or concerns we had. After several months of educating ourselves and with Angela C. guiding us through the process we signed a contract to have our home built by Highland. I can honestly say that without Angela's patience, guidance and professionalism, we probably would not have moved forward. Now for the build experience; We were blessed to be assigned Dustin D. as our builder. Dustin was truly a blessing. The pride he takes in delivering a quality home shined through, from the pouring of the foundation to delivering a beautiful home for us. He would pick up on things before we even had a chance to point anything out. Dustin was in constant communication with us throughout the build and made sure we understood every aspect of every phase the build was in. Dustin was extremely patient throughout the building process. He was prompt in responding to any questions we had. Remember, we were in CA while our home was being built in TX. Dustin would send us pictures and talk through any questions or concerns we may have had. Dustin would always say, "I take great pride and getting back to my homeowners promptly, so they are not left hanging". This guy is a Gem and a rare find! Although we build a tract home, Angela C. and Dustin D. delivered a better than custom built home buying and building experience. First off, Ashley and Stephanie in the sales office were awesome! They were so helpful and accommodating with us during the buying process, it was a pleasure to work with them. Sean, our construction manager is another person who I can’t praise enough. He always made himself available and kept us in the loop on the progress of the build. We had some minor issues during construction, which is to be expected. Once identified Sean was on it and promptly corrected. Two issues we still have are with the painting and landscaping. Caulking around baseboards was sloppy and not consistent from one area to the next. Paint is thin and the walls are not saturated at all. As far as landscaping, The topsoil they used under the sod is virtually non existent. There are hills and valleys all over the yard and the amount and size of the rocks I dig out daily are ridiculous. Aside from that, we are still pleased with our home and the overall experience we had with Highland Homes. ... More

Pranay - since we moved to this house we have odor smell issue which is from WWTP and he is beside of our house. While signing I have asked sales team what was that and they have said it is some water plant and they didn’t mentioned about about WWTP. We are getting that smell in our bedrooms. I didn’t expect this kind of customer service with false stamtement before signing the contracts.

Building a Highland home was a great experience! Josh and Edna (and the whole Highland team) were fantastic! They made the process fun and easy. I knew we were in good hands with them. They answered all of our questions, and their hard work and dedication assured us that we made the right decision building with Highland!
