From the sales team to the builder everything was great. Couldn't have asked for a better buying experience for our first home purchase.

Sales and office employees were very "customer service" oriented, which was a nice change from what I've experienced in the past with a particular homebuilder. The construction manager is awesome and goes out of his way to accommodate and fix any issues.

We purchased a new Highland home in Denison which closed in November of this year. Since house was already under construction, and had fallen through twice, we were unable to make any substantial changes. On the plus side, we did not have to pay any closing costs due to the generous offers from the builder and lender. We were in the right place at the right time when the house became available, and we got the lot we wanted. It is an attractive house with a good layout, and the kitchen layout of out model has a good amount of storage. There really is not a lot to be critical of. I would say the Highland Homes has positioned themselves as a more upscale option in the housing market. With that in mind, it would be nice to see more attention to the small details. Some of the work was not up to what they were marketing themselves as. One design complaint would be that the master suite behind the family room and kitchen area has no sound insulation. Anything going on in that area, or the TV mounted on the common wall will prevent anyone from sleeping in the bedroom. Overall, it is a very nice house. Reggie ... More

This is my second Highland Home purchase. I will say that Cris and Spencer are both great to work with. They provide great customer service and are proud to work for Highland …. And it shows!!

Our builder Garrett is very professional and helpful. We really enjoyed working with him and had a very good overall experience in this journey.

The Highland group was very easy to work with. The construction managers were knowledgeable and courteous in answering our concerns. We didn’t have dealing with a sales team because we chose the house early in the construction phase, emailed the sales office and bought the home. However, that office was also easy to work with. I would recommend Highland to all who are in the market for a new home.

We have had numerous issues with the warranty work being completed, in addition to issues that have had contractors sent out needing multiple repeat visits (4-5). Eve after those repeat visits fixes still haven't been made. We have contractors showing up at out house at all random hours without notification which seems odd that they would just show up without being scheduled. However, the builder says "I didn't schedule them". The additional "supervisors" he sends to supervise the contractors don't even actually supervise or observe. There has been a huge disconnect in follow up and communication. I am very disappointed and had hoped this experience would prove better. We still continue to have constantly put in for work to be done on at least a weekly basis. Seems to me it's also a waste of money highlands part to not just get the job done right the first or second time. ... More

Highland buying experience was great. The build manager was very trust worth and addressed every issues in a fast paced manger. The sails councilor and build manage did a very great job and gave us an amazing experience. The build quality and inspection of each phase was scrutinized for quality. Although with every new builds there are issues, but the build manager was always on top of things to resolve the issues. Overall I would highly recommend Highland for family and friends.

Drake was wonderful. Kind, patient (answered even my smallest questions; then said it all again when a friend wanted to hear it). He was thorough and made me feel like he worked for ME even though I was so happy to be buying such a beautiful home. If something wasn't exactly to my liking, he got it fixed or moved or whatever the case was. I would buy from Highland again in an instant.

They seemed liked they cared and wanted a very happy customer.

We love our new home There are a lot of little things we felt were not up to highland standards. Like using higher quality light switches and having handles and pulls on cabinets. Seemed to take short cuts on little things.

Really pretty house overall. Some issues when closing on the house but Highland seems pretty reliable in fixing these issues so far. A buddy of mine used Drees and he is struggling to get them to fix the problems that he is having. Thankfully, thus far, it has been the opposite for us.

My experience in buying a Highland Home has been pleasant from the start to move in. Highland was very responsive to any questions or issues that might arise during the building process. You can not go wrong in purchasing a Highland Home

Highland delivered on its promises and exceeded our expectations. Home looks and feels amazing. Timely response to minor items is beyond professional. This is our second build with highland and we couldn’t have been happier Best builder

I was not as happy with the quality of my Highland home as I was my last one. The mason work was sloppy and the cabinet work was also not the best. My sales person was non-existent, only talked to him 3 times during the process. Didn’t help advise and wanted upgrades but were not aware. Our contractor Alex was amazing. The closing was painless. Overall I would say average to moderate experience.

Overall our house is beautiful. Several issues that i need to mention. Building it took a year to finish( delays due to HOA not approving our choices of exterior color of bricks). Safety issues during the actual building of the house such as sheet racks not properly piled and nails lying on the floors. Upon moving in several bathtub faucets are loose and one was actually leaking. Wirings for internet was not working ( was spliced during construction). Doorbell was put to low for cameras to be installed and wires were knicked and touching each other that apparently caused chime box to short circuit and almost causing a fire. Cracks on both 1 car and 2 car garages seem to getting bigger. Home pro security key pad not sensing all the sensors in the house 1 day after it was installed so as of this time we have no security alarm when doors and windows are opened and it takes 1 month to schedule repairs .Jim has been very receptive to all of these issues but for the price of the house most of these issues should not happen in my opinion. Our experience has been very good, but not excellent. The builder has been responsive, but many items have been delayed due to supply chain issues and by contractors being overwhelmed. Our engineer has been very responsive and helpful. Our biggest issue is the lack of quality control. The material a very good, but the quality control of assembly is not there. In all fairness, we have noticed the same issues with other builders after talking with our Neighbors.

Thank you Saddle Star team for making my first building experience so awesome! Trevor was knowledgeable and so easy to work with. My neighbor who bought with the competitor commented on how nice my construction site always looked compared to their homes. Trevor went above and beyond during the entire process. Mary and Deb were so pleasant and helpful. I love my new home!!

I had a great experience with Highland Homes. The sales consultant, Brittany, was excellent at answering all of our questions and was beyond helpful throughout the whole process. The construction manager, Jonathan, was prompt with every question we had, detail-oriented, and made sure everything was taken care of for us throughout the long construction process. I love the professionalism and trustworthiness the Highland Homes employees depict. Our family is loving our new home. We couldn't be happier and it was also nice to have different options to customize and upgrade.

Highland Homes passed the buck for not having Internet to the Developer. Either way they should have been able to make sure that their new residents get Internet, a basic necessity for work from home folks. They didn't provide any alternatives for this either and their contract states that they are not responsible for making sure Internet is available at their homes. Apart from that they have been very responsive to fix things, and their workmanship seems above average. They charge extra considerably for having rocker switches instead of the toggle switches ($650), adding recessed lights in the bedrooms that should have been included in the original price. Most importantly, one of the windows needed re-glazing and they removed the window to measure it but did not seal it back with silicone due to their negligence. This heavy window fell inwards due to the wind m and almost missed my wife and infant baby by seconds! Would have paid a huge price due their negligence and we just got lucky. Still angry about this incident. The window smashed in so hard that it would have been fatal to my infant and wife. There is no lock on the owner's bathroom, and apparently this is standard with their plan. Any toddler or pet can just push the door open. Apart from all of the above, the house has good finishing. But the window incident and the lack of internet have soured our experience greatly. ... More

As a realtor, I have been a huge advocate for highland homes and will continue to be. Their floor plans are roomy, well designed and efficient. However, we experienced the following concerns. Your experience may differ so please take it with a grain of salt. 1) multiple construction delays and changes in construction management personnel. This may have improved in recent months. 2) strongly recommend separate property inspection. Align with the builder on what needs to be fixed before closing and make sure they do. Otherwise, You can expect to have month long delays and multiple follow ups before issues get resolved 3) do a checklist on all the change order from your design options with the construction manager. I was not ready to buy a house but the amazing Team I have met throughout the process especially Edna and Lonie, the quality of materials used, the finishing of the house, the outstanding customer experience left no room but do business with Highland Homes. Highly recommended !

The entire process with the builder was amazing. From receiving a recommendation direct from Viktoria C. to working directly with Tony N. Harrison K. the Project Manager was very knowledgeable through the construction process. He had a high level of professionalism. He responded to my phone calls and emails in a prompt manner. Harrison also made sure that all of my questions and concerns were handled with the best solutions within a timely manner. The Sales Team members were kind, humble and very patient with me during the entire process. Pedro L. was amazing with great knowledge of the Model Homes along with the highlights of the neighborhood. Tony N. This is the first home we have ever built. The process was less stressful than others warned us it would be. Highland Homes finished the house ahead of schedule, however not everything was complete. After walking through the house with the construction manager, we had developed a list of issues that needed to be finished. The construction manager signed a contract to have the issues completed within 14 days. It has now been 7 weeks and only half the original list is complete and we have made a completely new list of issues we have noticed. We were also told in writing we would have traditional mailboxes and Highland did build them. Apparently they did not have approval from the USPS which wanted community style cluster mailboxes for the 19 homes being built. USPS has refused to deliver our mail for 7 weeks now because of it. We have to drive 20 minutes each direction to the post office to wait in line for another 20 minutes to receive our mail. Highland has stopped updating on this issue or any of the problems with our new home. ... More
