The Process was easy from start to finish. They built us a great, quality home. Overall, they were very accommodating for our needs. They made it clear that some things were impossible due to supply chain issues, but they always seemed to make something work for us. I would absolutely purchase another one in the future if we had to relocate.

Materials used are great. People working at HIGHLAND are very respectful and responsive. Quality of workmanship is below average. Not sure if this is related to Pandemic labor shortage. Overall a good experience buying and closing, except workmanship is not upto the mark.

Sales co-ordination was great. Construction timelines and updated were perfect to begin with. Halfway thru, I had to check on the progress almost every week and point out issues. Final walk was rushed enough, hours before closing and with pending works. We moved into our house end of June 2022 and still dealing with issues, which should have never occurred or should have been fixed by construction manager well before closing. After moving in, I got to know almost half the workmen team to fix issues. To name a few - cabinets, counter tops, doors/trims, sheetrock, vent team, electrical, appliances and painters. Although highland may have a stunning plot plan the management of contractor craftsmanship and quality is severely lacking. Aside from their plot plan there is absolutely no difference in this builder from any other cookie cutter neighborhood home. It’s clear to see that each contractor has less respect for the home than the last. Spending half a million dollars on a home should yield more quality and excitement when moving in. Our blue tape walk items are still outstanding 2+ months later. The longer we live in the home the more we are blown away by lack of craftsmanship, quality and the amount of corners cut to “complete” the home. You should NOT have to deep clean construction mess after closing as the homeowner nor should you have to waste your time with the quick patch/bandaid jobs for items that have no reason to be left as outstanding. I’ve researched Highland Homes before I moved to Texas and found this company is buy far the best builder. My concern is the sub-contractors and following up with the quality of their work. Every phase should be checked and the homeowner should get weekly reports or visits if possible to their home. I have a few concerns that is being addressed immediately by Highland Homes warranty, but these noticeable concerns should have been fixed by your construction manager by doing his/her due diligence for the best builder in this state of Texas. I recommend Highland Homes to a friend of mind and they’re having a home built in San Antonio, Texas as I write this review. There completion date is February 2023. The initial experience with HH was fantastic. Sales lady is an amazing person overall and was very helpful throughout the process. The second superintendent assigned to my house was easy to work with as well, but that's about where the positives end. My house was rushed (finished 2 months "ahead of schedule") and it showed. Poor painting, very poor trim work, and floors not adequately protected while contractors still in the house leading to cosmetic issues. The grass was laid prematurely causing uneven ground and poor drainage, lots of trash left on the property after "completion", and just overall a lack of attention to detail. The superintendent assigned to my house 4 days before closing was stuck with a pile of junk and desperately rushed to fix the issues. I had to do the final walk through after I closed and all of the issues weren't resolved until 5-6 weeks after I moved in. I take responsibility for not pushing back on the close date given the state of the house, but I was continually promised it would be completed. Ultimately my experience showed me that the employees you will deal with on a day-to-day basis are amazing, but it is lead by a management team who is completely out of touch making poor choices and putting their employees in a bad position with the home buyers. ... Very professional caring and considerate. The whole process was great and stress free.

We signed a contract on a fully framed house at the end of November 2021 to close in April latest May and we ended up closing in mid August, 2022. It’s almost as if they were stringing us along for 9 months hoping that we would back out and sell the home for a higher price. After 9 months of waiting, we are in a “new” home that has electrical issues, AC issues, and a bunch of things done in hurry that looks unfinished. One AC vent started to rattle so loud in under a month it’ll wake me up at night. The driveway looks like it took some damage and they just threw concrete at it and didn’t even smith it out. Everyone on the block (including those with the same home design) has an additional side garden and we don’t. There is only one spigot attached to the home and it’s not even conveniently placed near the garden or back. Maybe it’s for the neighbor to use. Not thoughtful at all. They cut a lot of corners and it shows. ... More

Highland Homes...I can't say enough about them. Even though it took a year to build our home, because of the rest of the world's current state, Highland was incredible! Communication was great, they fielded a lot of stress before it ever hit us, so the entire process was so smooth. I knew I could trust them in every area. Jared went above and beyond for us and has even been a support to us post-move-in. Everything they do is high quality. We built our dream house and the building process was a dream come true! We’ve been in our new home almost two months and have had issues with getting our punch list items resolved since moving in. We have been in touch with our construction manager, and he has been responsive towards us about the fact that they are “working on it”, but at this point even items we have submitted a warranty for are going unamended. Our walkthrough was rushed because of a pushed back closing, but with the idea that a walkthrough takes place a couple weeks before closing so the punch list can be taken care of, it’s frustrating that two months after moving in we are still waiting for this punch list to be completed. We love our home, but it is still incomplete and it seems at this point that we are being given the run around so that issues will be forgotten rather than fixed. ... More

It was a great experience and the builder/construction manager were great!

Had a horrible experience with Highland being a first time buyer. The construction manager assigned neither provided any status updates nor picked up the calls. He also never responded to numerous emails and texts sent. There were numerous issues during the house built and even after 2 months of closing, Highland is still working on resolving those. Had to escalate every single time and I essentially worked as a construction manager to supervise my house built. Construction manager also made racial comments saying "which part of English I don't understand" after I asked him on the status update after house closing. He got agitated as he lost the affidavit containing the list of issues signed during closing. Highland is now trying to make things better and also did some damage control around the closing time by involving the division manager. However, its not the experience anyone would have hoped for, especially from a reputed builder like Highland. Would recommend persistently asking to change the construction manager if one is not happy with him/her even after the push back from builder. ... More

We had a HORRIBLE experience through the build. This was our second Highland home, and while we are happy with the quality, the attention to detail and responsiveness of the supervisor was horrendous. We were told we would have weekly phone calls for updates and had 3 phone calls over 4 months. Items would be noted to be repaired/amended and then would be completely disregarded. Even 2 months after moving in, there have been several items that were noted multiple times through the building process that have not been fixed. Overall, I would rate Highland's processes poor and this will be our last home purchased/built via them. ... More

Overall a good choice for my family

I know that a lot of the trades have taken a turn downward as far as quality because of who is out there actually willing to work but there are somethings that I feel should have been caught and were not. Over all the quality of the home is great. We are pleased with the structure but there were somethings that we just felt didn't live up to the quality that you come to expect with a Highland Home.

Highland Homes delivers an excellent home at a very competitive price. The value received is great. Highland Homes provides many features and resulting benefits that you will not find in other production builders. The ability to customize is very helpful in designing your dream home. I really wanted to be in the development I built in "Davis Farms". and having made that decision and having met with every one of the builders in Davis Farms it mad my decision easy. Only Highland Homes would provide me with the quality, with the choices and the confidence that I would get the home I wanted. The house was not completed before closing and it was frustrated to ask them to come back the house for fixing stuff. My builder manager is bad at responding and following up with us about when stuff will be fixed or done. The dishwasher got fixed by them at least 3 time but still had not worked until we called the manufacturer people. The living room does not have the outlet behind the TV where we need the most, but the 4 bedrooms have it all The area in front of garage door is too dark and we dont have a light there. My friend’s house is exactly the same house plan with us but she has the light there without any asking or upgrading . Her builder did a lot of extra thing for her that he think they are necessary for the house. I think it is depend on who is your builder person that is responsible for the house. Overall I am not happy about the house and dont want to call them anymore so I just leave it like it is or fix it myself ... More

In general, Highland Home’s houses are beautiful and therefore the prices are high, but the details of the house are not perfect and need to be repaired many times. They will fix for you but the time they respond to my requests is very slow. and sometimes they will not time. From our first interaction with Thea, who sat with us for hours to spec out a home that we weren't even sure we would build, to working with her partner Patti that would provide updates just as often as Thea, to our construction manager Ryan that came in toward the end of the build but got things done to get us to the closing table, to the project manner Tanner that escalated issues as necessary, every single person that we worked with was top notch x2! We've built homes before but Highland Homes is leaps and bounds better than any builder we've worked with. No build is perfect...there will be things that pop up but our Highland Homes team addressed those things as they came up. Dakota the Construction Manager provides excellent customer service, even in the time that doesn't go in my favor. He would take the time to explain to me the reason why he also make it right for the customers. I think without Dakota as my construction manager, I would probably have had a bad experience. The company need to give this guy a promotion.

They were excellent in all avenues of the home building process. We've been in the house now coming up on 2 months and they have delivered on everything! Would highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy a new home.

From the first day meeting the staff to final closing, the entire home buying process was extremely pleasant, highly professional and by far the best home buying experience we have had. Sia, Miya, and Brandon always went out of there way to take care of us and always produced extraordinary results. Truly the best team in the business.
