Quality of workmanship is not all that great.

We liked the highland home quality and their service. home has all the nice material used with granite counter top. One thing we are not happy with it with minor details that can be improved in workmanship like loose connections, visible gaps in some of the portion of patio which can be home of insects.

The Highland sales team was very attentive. We never 2nd guessed our choice to hire them or to purchase their product. The building process was 90% smooth, and where we ran into a slowdown, it was resolved as soon as the vendor made the right product available. Although he was VERY busy, our building coordinator made time for us as best he could. We never felt neglected. When building this many homes, there are certain to be minor workmanship issues, but we have 12 months to work those out!! Happy with Highland!

The home buying process was a little overwhelming but we are loving our new home now that it’s over. We live in a neighborhood with several builders and Highland homes is what we always hear people recommend. In our experience they were professional, used good materials and worked on some great finishes. The layout is extremely convenient and many details within the home such as electric, piping, storage, etc, were just planned in an efficient manner, they didn’t ask us and we didn’t think of those but now that we have the home is clear they knew what they were doing. Due to supply chain issues they did have to replace some of our options, but for the most part they stayed true to the items and styles we picked when designing the house. Price wise it falls more on the higher end and within our neighborhood we’ve seen some beautiful houses from other builders at much more affordable price. Personnel - sales, project manager, financing - were all responsive, responsible, professional and transparent, even after closing. ... More

Our buying experience was truly awesome! The sales associate provided all the required information for us to make an informed decision. The design center person was not as helpful as I preferred. All of our interactions with the builders have been remarkable and extremely positive. I would strongly recommend purchasing a home with the Highlands family.

Thea, and Patty the sales representatives were both SUPER and went out of their way to make the buying experience a positive interaction. Tanner the building superintendent has been very responsive and cured some new home issues in a prompt and helpful manner.

As a first time home homeowner. Highland made the process seem less and everyone on the team truly cares. The community is great and the team is very responsive to all issues i have had. So far my only complain will be the floor plan design. I think it could be more user friendly. The home is beautiful and very modern but lacks and office space and small things like under the sink trash cabinets

Their company culture is centered around trust, and each employee has an equal opportunity to have a stake of ownership in the company, which drives their shared and vested interest in ensuring each customer is happy with their new home. Highland, like any builder, has its own challenges managing sub contractors that are inevitably the ones actually building your home, but Highland’s warranty, commitment to excellence, and absolute focus on building a trusting relationship with you as a homeowner absolutely overcomes the smallest issues as well as the minor near unnoticeable defects that anyone finds in their new home. From start to finish, they’ve been excellent. Even our realtor was like “I don’t ever feel like I earn my commission whenever I work with Highland, they make the entire process so easy, it’s undeniable they’re the best in the biz to work with!” Someday, I hope Highland opts in to build individualized homes on parcels of land individually purchased. Build was fast and easy. Quality of material lacks and would have really liked a final clean to have the House ready to move in.

Best part of the whole experience has been how quick and responsive Austin has been. If there’s been any little stuff that needs fixing, he’s been there either same day or next day.

By purchasing the model home. We did find some odds and ends that was damage which we understood because the house was a model home. But the garage was new and broke in a couple weeks. I can say Highland did not Wasted no time making sure the contractor took care of it ASAP. Other then that we love our home.

We were very happy with our homebuilding experience. In an era of shortages and delays, everything was on time and on budget. Our contact at Highland Homes was very knowledgeable and they were willing to work with us on some floorplan customizations that really made the home ours. We are enjoying getting settled!

We had a great experience with Highland Homes. We had a tight moving window, and our house was finished and ready to move in right when we needed it to be. Thanks to all the Highland Team for making it happen!

The sales staff are really wonderful and helpful, especially Layne. I was under contract for well over a year before my home was completed. He was very responsive to any questions or concerns. My construction manager, Aaron is also great. He kept me updated on every stage of construction. My only complaint has been the overall sloppiness of many of the subcontractors. There were paint splatters/drips everywhere on every surface, construction debris left in the yard, landscapers installing grass and flower beds over debris and rocks, scratches on several windows, etc. Aaron is continuing to have the subs come and most of these issues are slowly getting corrected. Bought a spec in the drywall stage. ’ll admit, everything wasn’t done perfectly. There were several things that were issues and we felt like we weren’t getting a return on our investment for the quality of work being performed. I’ll also admit, that Highland Homes did everything in their power to fix every issue we have had. And some of these things were big things. They didn’t hesitate to make it right, and continue to strive to make it right until we are satisfied. We bought with highland because of the customer service reputation, and they have met and exceeded my expectations on that front in every aspect. Enjoyed the experience with the sales rep.

From beginning to end we were told honest answers to our questions. There are a few different builders in our neighborhood and we have seen many homes go untouched for weeks and months, but Kel set the expectations every week and followed through!

The overall experience has been great including our local rep: Troy and construction POC: Layne. The only area we have to be honest about is the Quality of workmanship & materials...

You can tell when you look at other builders homes and divisions that Highland build quality is better. The homes are all brick and come with a lot of extras. The sales agent was excellent (Brittany) in keeping us informed during the build process. The homes are more expensive but you get what you pay for. They do not change the price upwards like many builders are now doing once you have contracted your home.
