I have been pretty happy throughout the process. Several of the issues I have logged were resolved quickly. The only outstanding issue is one of the biggest. There is standing water on both the side and back yard far longer than acceptable(48 hours). I have requested resolution since the day I bought the house but the issue has not been resolved. It is a good thing it is not against the directly foundation but considering the size of the yard it is not acceptable to have standing water in those areas.

Gracie and Genie were exceptional to work with. They addressed our concerns and fixes in a timely manner.

The sales and superintendent personnel were awesome, extremely responsive and accommodating to our needs - could not find better people to work with. Some of the work done in the house was a bit sloppy, but when we pointed out something that needed to be addressed they were on it immediately.

make sure you are happy with the construction manager as they are instrumental in the building process.

This is our second build with Highland and again completely satisfied.

My search for a home took some time but I chose Highland because my realtor said that they were the best builder around this area. Some of the choices in design leave me scratching my head but I’m making some changes there. My concern is the quality of the build overall. The home is less than a year old and it has several cracks in the bedroom where the ceiling meets the roof line. My neighbor has a jagged crack inside where the balcony floor meets the living room and cracks in her pantry where the shelf supports meet the wall. That house is also less than a year old. There is also a concern with the way my electrical has been installed. Loose bare wires in units as well as nicks in wiring were found when installing ceiling fans and dimmers. I will probably end up checking all outlets and switches to make sure they’re secure due to issues some of my other neighbors have had. These homes are being thrown up so quickly that I feel quality control is not being maintained. So far issues I’ve had have been addressed promptly except the cracks and I’ve brought that up recently. The entire ceiling seam should be redone. These homes are not cheap and shouldn’t have these kinds of problems so soon after construction. At least it’s still under warranty but what will happen after the year is up? ... More

The quality of materials are getting worse year by year, but prices are getting higher. Old houses was better. At least Hıghland still quick responder for issues.

Overall we did have a good experience with both our Highland Rep and the builder. We were disappointed that we did not get the specific model that we wanted, but understand the limitation with repetitive designs. We would indeed work with our rep (Ashley) our builder (Shane) and would buy Highland again. The flat pain on the walls is probably the one issue we had as it marks up very easy and required significant touch ups after moving in. Had other, minor fixable issues when we moved in but overall very satisfied with our home.

Jake and Branka were both professional and pleasant to work with. They were attentive to our needs and worked with us as we relocated from another state.

My experience with Highland Homes is as below. Positive experiences - Good plans. I found Highland Homes plans quite good. I think they have made good use of the overall space and good amount of light in the homes. - The construction material is generally good, with some exceptions as highlighted below in the negative section. - The home was delivered before the promised timeline, which was quite helpful. - The Sales Team was quite good and responsive. They were helpful in making some minor changes here and there, although, everything was through a change order. Negative. - Design Center experience was not up to the mark. The available options for upgrade were limited, especially in the case of wood flooring/Laminate. There were barely 4-5 options for laminate flooring and relatively few wooden flooring options. - Quality of workmanship. In my experience few places the supervision of the work was not adequate. E.g. the tiles in the master bathroom were not in perfect level as a result you can feel the edges and not much can be done about it. Also the sod in the backyard was laid without proper levelling as a result there is lot of uneven surface, which is an expensive proposition for the customer after closing which could have been avoided with little supervision. - Material. My observation on material quality is particularly with framing. I noticed in few places the studs used were not very good or strong. I had a hard time installing TV wall mount as some of the studs were damaged. This could have been avoided with supervision. There was a noticeable difference in the framing as compared to some of the leading builders. - Responsiveness. The response from the project team has not been up to the mark. While it was addressed to some extent, but it went down after the closing again. - Value for the price. The upgrades in general were very expensive, including the listed price, while some promotions were applied but there was little adjustment for the steep price drop right after the closing. Overall, I am happy with my home as it built before the promised timeline and like the plan, but there is a lot of room for improvement in the overall customer experience as highlighted above. ... We loved that highland had more options to customize our home compared to other builders.

The home buying experience was good. I enjoyed it.

Highland homes is a great builder but with this community having to deliver too many homes in short time, construction managers have too many homes in their hands hence some of the things are not being looked upon. My CM - Dillon was awesome and hence I got a good home, but I have seen my neighbors homes where the CMs are completely ignorant or MIA, and their homes are not up to the mark. Request Highland homes to assign more CMs to this community so that new homes constructed as per buyer's needs. I, personally do not have many complaints.

I love the floor plan options, the experience with the sales team was simple and straightforward (no pressure). The construction project manager was awesome and very responsive throughout the construction and was very accommodating to my needs. When it comes to the quality of contractors' work, only a few were careful with their quality of work. Most of the contractors (painters, carpenters, dry wall people etc.) very VERY SLOPPY. I just don't understand how they would simply miss the spots that were either damaged during the construction or didn't get textured/or missed paint. I had to point out a lot of things that shouldn't have been there to begin with, and even then had to call back the painters a few times because they still kept missing regardless of the blue tape. While I am happy with overall purchase, very dissatisfied with the quality of work. However, I do appreciate the construction manager because he still takes care of any issues that I point out, and that really makes up for the sloppy work of the contractors. ... More

There were some things that were supposed to get done off the final walk through but they were not. We are still getting those things done over months later after moving in.

We are reasonably pleased. The 7 day in advance of close walk through to point out imperfections and then nothing after close is totally unreasonable

We’re enjoying our new home and really are impressed with the neatness of the neighborhood common areas !!

Overall great design and high quality but there have been a few issues that have come up. Most have been resolved in a professional and timely manner or hopefully will be soon. One outstanding item that we discovered was an issue with the property line and placement of the retaining wall and fence. Unfortunately, Highland was made aware of the issue but never brought it to our attention. We actually discovered the issue while hiring a pool company and a company to install and whole house generator. I brought this up with Highland management three weeks ago and am still waiting for resolution or a plan for resolution. With how tight the lots are it is a material issue for us, but we are hopeful that Highland will resolve the issue soon so we can continue to get the work done and enjoy our beautiful new home. I can't stress enough the great design and overall quality of the home which is what made us buy it. Highland Homes was very easy to work with from the sales process to the construction management. We are happy with the home to this point.

The 40 ft lot is just too small. The house needs just a few feet more width for the rooms to not be awkward sized. The garages are very small. There are a lot of nice features as well. Builders is very responsive to warranty requests.

My experience with my new home is good and could be better if the list of pending items are not so high! When I bought the house, the seller mentioned the inspection process and every item that was not in accordance with my expectation would be fixed. I walked through the house, and we found lots of items that needed to be fixed and unfortunately lots of the items were not solved and even after 1 month, we still have items to be fixed. My second point is related to house cleaning. The carpets, garage and attic were very dirty with dust, and material left behind by the crew. My expectation is that I will receive the house cleaned. One of my frustrations is regarding the sprinklers, because when I bought it, it was mentioned that I could manage the sprinklers through the app on my phone, however it was not mentioned that I need to buy the network card. It was set an expectation and when I wanted to see working, it was communicated that I needed to buy a card to see working, so the expectation that was set created a feeling of frustration and disappointment. My last comment is related to the good Job that Andres is doing to fix all pending items that I have to work on my house. My only suggestion is Hinghlands implement an inspection process with superior quality because some of the rework can be minimized and overall client satisfaction will be better. ... More
