Great process from start to finish. I would highly recommend highland homes.

Even after I closed on the house, Angel has been great with getting problems resolved

We bought a spec home already under construction so we were not allowed to go to the design center, which didn’t give us options for add-ons such as blinds, adding exterior lighting etc. We were not told that the standard paint was flat, nor were we given the option to “upgrade” the paint. Flat paint is the worst! Our appraisal came in $33,716 UNDER list price and we were told they would not negotiate it and we were stuck since we had already sold our previous home. We have had so many issues and have had the contractors in and out more than a handful of times. Have only lived here for 2 months and have already submitted multiple warranty claims for various things, which go unresponded to, until we follow up on them ourselves (the 7 day to respond clearly is false). Finally, the kitchen. I don’t know what to say. We are currently waiting on nearly every door and drawer to be replaced as they are all damaged, dinged, scratched, or the paint is peeling off. I’m not sure who was responsible for quality control / visual inspection on our home, prior to our ownership, but they take zero pride in their work, and it shows in everything overlooked! ... More

Wish our house was built like others. We have major aesthetic brick issues that lingered for months (may to sept) and the construction manager kept on saying it’ll get fixed l. At the 11th hour before closing got rid of all the excess mortar all over our house and ruined the front of the house with excess acid wash. We were put in a hard place bc we had to be out of our old house. The brick is so horrible, and we put eves lights and u can see a wave in all our brick in the front. I would say they are responsive on warranty request, but our house didn’t get the highland quality we thought we were getting and the brick work was the worst I’ve ever seen. ... More

We had a Highland Home in San Antonio from 2010 to 1018. We were extremely pleased with the builder and his attention to detail. I believe largely because of the great number of houses being built and issues with obtaining materials that in some cases cheaper materials were used, but we also had a couple of substitutions that were in higher categories as well. Highland has been responsive in working the punch list for warranty items since we moved in 9/1. All in all, we are pleased with the home, but the experience was different than our first Highland Home.

Despite the crazy housing market, material and supply shortages, Highland Homes was able to finish and close on our beautiful home on time! The entire Highland Home team was great to work with. We are so thankful that we chose Highland Homes and we highly recommend them based on our personal experience.

Tiffany made the purchasing process simple, smooth and welcoming. Sam made the construction process very worry free. He always made sure to check in with us and answer any concerns that came up. Tony has assisted with any issue that has arose since we've moved in.

Would highly recommend Highland Homes

Did not follow through on work or promises. Awful work ethic, many mistakes were made and not fixed. Poor work quality, things were left out and messy, extremely unprofessional.

Great experience working with them

Highland designs a beautiful house, but they can't finish it with quality. No attention to detail, no pride in the finished product, and every time an issue was corrected, something else was damaged. Their painters should never be allowed to paint a Highland Home again. The employees are very nice, but their job is 10x's harder because of the subpar trades. Options are WAY over priced and they missed our estimated closing date by 3+ months. They can only blame COVID so many times before it just becomes poor planning and execution on their part.

We have been very impressed with the quality and detail Highland Homes puts into the home. Their response to warranty issues or after sale issues has been great.

My overall experience with highland homes was great. Kathi, the sales counselor, answered all of our questions. She continued to help us even after closing on our home with some issues we were having. John, our lender, was very knowledgeable and easily accessible throughout the process.

We had a great experience with our Highland Homes buying experience and our home. They provided transparency in the entire process, telling us what they could and could do and allowed us to be involved in every aspect of the process. They upgraded materials, as needed, without question or additional cost that resulted from the current supply chain issues, The construction manager even came out on a Saturday evening to address an issue we found during a visit to the house. We would highly recommend Highland Hames as your builder.

I assume because the rush, the home finishes are not god. ceiling shapes out of alignement, a lot doors handle loosed, some paint finishes in bad shaoe, paint drops in some places. The grass planted came wit a lot of herbs on it. Precesence of ants even into home detected few days after moving.

We had several issues that stemmed from a lack of communication from the design side, like door trim that has known issues with the doorknob hardware, a kitchen island that was both more expensive and not what we we told we were ordering, and options like pre-sealed grout that we only learned about after the fact. That coupled with some issues like, tile needing to be regrouted because it was done poorly, and flooring being stained by banister varnish, left us feeling frustrated by the process overall. We understand that our home was built during the covid pandemic, and we always tried to be patient and understanding, but a lot of the work felt rushed, poorly done, or needed to be redone. We really appreciated our second building manager, who really seemed to be focused on trying to get our house back on track. ... More

Edna was absolutely amazing from start to finish, we adore her. Our builder Lonnie, worked tirelessly to get things done despite the shortages of both materials and workers post pandemic. We are really happy with our overall build process. Would highly recommend!!!

Entire Team worked together and communicate well. Makes process easier. They make the Client feel like a priority and not just an address.

This is our second build and first time with Highland Homes. Very impressed with the whole process from start to finish. From sales to after- closing service, they have been very accommodating, responsive, and professional. They have built us a beautiful home.

i dont think there is a square wall in this house. We previously had a home custom built and buying from a big box builder has lived up to their build fast and not accurate reputation. the sheetrock is crumbly, the paint falls off the wall if you touch it, the door paint has runs in it. We've had the electrician out three times. The person that we contact if something is wrong, has been fabulous. It's just when you pay close to half a million dollars for a home, you expect it to be top notch not sloppy.

Been here for two months and still have issues that’s been addressed - but nothing done! Very disappointed!!!!

The loan process was very smooth and easy.

Buying a home can be stressful. Highland Homes walked us through the entire process and it could not have been easier. We initially went with another lender but switched to Highland Home Loans because of their customer service. Friendly, kind, patient, and willing to help anytime. Would highly recommend!

This was our second Highland Home and the fit and finishes inside where not done as well as our previous home. We were not allowed to change much of anything in reference to colors and options. There was also a lot of trim and paint problems such as doors and drawers not fitting and closing as they should and fitting was off in numerous places. You expect better quality for the price point.
