They were responsive to our requests and concerns.

My timing was not ideal with being between three holidays Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Regardless the responsiveness and the handling of all the issues from the construction manager was outstanding. Many thanks to him for making unpleasant situation bearable.

we believe we made the right decision in choosing highland homes. The best thing is that they fixed, corrected all the items which were reported in inspection before the closing. Their work wise we don't have any problems, it might be too early to give a review bcos it takes more time for us to see if we have any concerns about the purchase. But we would definitely recommend other to highland homes.

We had looked in the Wildridge community for quite some time - at all the builders. We had decided to go with one of the other builders until we just happened to go back to Highland and learned of a new floor plan we had not seen. Not only was the floor plan perfect for our needs but further looks at the build quality showed us it was a touch better than what we had been looking at. All in all we are well pleased with the build out, time frame, communication, desire to please and get it right and have been in for a couple of months now. Workmanship and the quality of contruction not up to par. Small details out of places; such as, broken tiles, outlets not align, scratches doors, hard to open doors, yard work not ballance etc...

Concrete and brick work is very sloppy. Not what you would expect for a new home. Also a few issues inside like widows not being square.

The issues we have are all post move-in for and finish and the lack of responsiveness and caring. Things were told to us that never occurred or multiple tickets were submitted for the same issue over the course of weeks. At week eight there are still unresolved issues from move in.

I have used Highland Homes on three different occasions with the previous home being built 30 years ago. All three previous experiences were very positive so selecting them last year for my 4th home was a no brainer. I didn't even show around. I realize building standards are not the same as it was 30 and 40 years ago, but this most recent experience took my off guard. Covid really took its tole on the building industry back in 2020 with equipment and materials being in very short supply and the workforce down to skeleton crews in many instances. Four years later the industry has definitely recovered, but with some disappointing changes. The first eye opening experience was during my selection process. The standard options were selections that were sub-par and in many cases, outdated. Upgrading to a more dated selection cost dearly, even for a slightly higher material. Due to the high prices, many times I kept with the standard selection and scarified what I really wanted. After a short time I felt like I was in the middle of a bait and switch scheme. It became almost laughable. By the time I completed the selection process I was very disappointed and frustrated. The next eye opening change came with the cabinets. If there was a corner to cut - literally - it was taken. The width and depth are much much less than in any previous home. Case in point, there are drawers in the master bath that are 2-1/2" wide by 3" deep - just enough room for a tube of toothpaste if you place it on it's side but not enough room to include your toothbrush. If a dollar could be saved, they were sure to take that route. There were additional upgrades I had not considered until that particular phase of construction was in progress. For example, the plumber was installing the plumbing fixtures when I realized the standard size garbage disposal was a 1/3hp unit. I am accustomed to a 3/4hp so I asked what my cost would be to install a larger size. Their markup was 300% above a reasonable price! Requesting any upgraded material or equipment during construction was at least a 300% increase! This was extremely frustrating. Eventually I purchased upgraded materials and equipment on my own and hired a contractor after closing to install for significantly less than if I had let Highland do the work. Personally I believe this is wrong on so many different levels and is unacceptable. And finally, I believe there were a few subcontractors that were not at the level I had expected from Highland. There were times I felt they selected a different subcontractor just to keep the project moving because their usual sub was not available. This is merely my opinion and may not be the case at all, but it sure felt that way with a few "high profile" subcontractors. My field superintendent was a great guy! He did everything he could to satisfy my requests. If I was disappointed with the installation quality, he would have them re-do it. The builder made many promises to correct some issues. Never completed!

The buying experience was good.

Overall we are happy with our home but we do have some things we are very disappointed with. This is the first home we did not build from the ground up and we know things won’t be perfect but there are issues, the dining room light isn’t centered which will look bad when a table is properly placed in the room. There is paint all over door knobs and stoppers, the quality of the paint job on some doors and trim is very poor with dried paint dripping showing. There is a big texture patch in the laundry room where they either got the texture applied wrong or had to patch the area and didn’t texture good. Some doors are warped. Some door trim cuts do not align or the boards are damaged. In the master bath above the mirror there are sunken anchors in the wall above the mirror as if they had something placed there before but then removed it and then they painted over the anchors. The landscaping is a hodge podge of various plants with no rhyme or reason to them. These are all things we have discovered after being in the home, we did do a walk through and MANY things were addressed and fixed before we moved in but there are obvious things that can be missed during that walkthrough and that is what I am describing in this review. ... Sales team is good and the experience was great. The building team is not as responsive. Overall, the quality of workmanship is good.

I do love the Dorset townhome but there were some issues like shower and toilet backing up because a test ball was left in the plumbing. Roof leaking after a couple of days of rain. These were the worst problems. All others were minor. When I purchased my last home I received a manual with detailed information on my home. Take note Highland.

It seems like the building managers might be stretched thin, affecting the response time to certain concerns. Enhancing this aspect could further elevate the overall customer experience. Our experience with buying a Highland Home was great. Walter, Danny and the sales staff did a very good job explaining the process and showing us the home. The builder, Dakota, was great and continues to assist us with questions! A piece of advice - spend 2 trips at the design center and take your time. Be very specific about what you want and make no assumptions.

We bought our home in 2023 and it seems to me a home over 535K shouldn't have particle board kitchen and bathroom cabinets instead or wood and vinyl tile flooring instead of real wood floors. Every room has the same exact light fixtures in the ceiling. There just seems to be a lot of cost cutting in the build. We'll find out how energy efficient the home is this next year.

Wade our builder was great at keeping us updated during the build process and responding to our concerns. Went above and beyond in some cases and really appreciate the work that was done. However after close it's been a bit of a different story, the punch list that was supposed to be closed within 30 days is still outstanding. Some of this I understand is because he is busy and getting the trades aligned.

For the most part, the experience was pretty good. Whether it was the sales person or the loan officer that was all a great experience. What was not a great experience was the sloppiness of following up on actions needing addressed prior to and after closing (entry light crooked, master tub faucet leaking, etc.) and the lack of quality painting throughout the house. We spent an entire day scraping paint droppings off of our tile floor just so that we could seal all of the tile throughout the house. I assume it’s hard to find good painters, but someone should’ve followed up after the painters finished and made them clean up after themselves. With the amount of money that was spent to purchase this house, I expected better. On a different note, all of the warranty items that I have requested action on, have been followed up on very promptly, and they have been doing a very good job in this area. ... More

The staff at Highland are amazing, very trustworthy and responsive. The quality of the house is medium - I believe because they are building so many at one time, the time to ensure details (i's dotted and t's crossed) need improving. I would suggest they ensure a team at highland is conducting a thorough check before the house is released to the buyers (lots of details - paint especially was not well done, and comparing to my former custom built home in a different state - material quality is low). It is not as stressful because the staff is very responsive to ensuring 100% customer satisfaction, so that makes a big difference. ... More

Beautiful Development and community, my protect manager Bryan has been great to work with, every week sending an email to give me updates on the progress. I love the house however I been disappointed in some of the finishing touches and the workmanship of some materials, I know eventually everything will be fixed.

Materials used are great. People working at HIGHLAND are very respectful and responsive. Quality of workmanship is below average. Not sure if this is related to Pandemic labor shortage. Overall a good experience buying and closing, except workmanship is not upto the mark.

Home was delivered slightly ahead of schedule and at the agreed price. Project Manager (Chase M) did an outstanding job of keeping us informed of progress and responding to any issues that came up after closing. Home is well built, although some materials could be of better quality. Paint team needs some work and required numerous touch ups and cover ups. Seemed like the painters simply wanted to be in and out as soon as possible instead of doing the job correctly the first time.

Overall, we are quite happy with our new home. The sales team and construction supervisor have been easy to work with. Supply chain issues and labor availability have caused problems but those are being sorted out over time. All in all, we would recommend Highland Homes as a builder, but in today's environment it would be advisable to have a flexible move date.

We love the home, but now have those nit-pickey items that need to be finished. I hope Highland responds well. So far, so good
