We love our home and location. The only thing we would have liked during the build would be more attention to detail, quality control and workmanship, all of which would have been taken care of with an on site construction manager. An onsite punch list during the build with each and every contractor/crew for accountability would have alleviated most of these problems. The construction site was Always a mess compared to other builders in the area and a lot of followup work was needed during and after the finish to bring it up to acceptable.

Terrible experience overall. I will say, Mike with the mortgage company needs a mask and cape because he was superman. Tyler, our second Builder has done her absolute level best to correct issues we had so I would rate her 5 stars. If you end up with Eric as your builder, cancel and walk away. He doesn't care at all. He is extremely unprofessional, including having trades eating and sleeping in my home during our scheduled meeting which he was late to. You will not get a quality home if he builds it, request Tyler, she is hands and feet above him in treatment and physicall quality.

Our home is beautiful, but over priced for what you get. Highland still has not completed their final punch list of items that were to be completed prior to move in. We did not want to push our closing date as we had nowhere to go, so we went ahead and moved in. Now we have a list of unfinished items, which they promised they would come finish shortly after we moved in, but haven’t. We have reached out to the builder multiple times, no return calls, no return emails, one time he put a meeting on the calendar and we took off of work for him to no show. It’s funny how once they get their money, it’s no longer their problem anymore. Don’t get me wrong we like our home, but be prepared to chase your builder down if you want them to complete anything they “promised”. ... More

We were so worried about purchasing a home in the mist of Covid, but through the entire process they were safe and amazing. Though there have been things to fix in the early day of moving in, our builder has been extraordinarily. He has made our home perfect in every way. I have heard horror stories about other builders, but thankfully Highland is not on that list. They are the best!!!!!

We had a great experience working with Highland Homes from our first meeting with the sales team, to follow meetings with sales/design/construction, to the day we moved in. We had very few issues during the process or since we've moved in. My only complaint and why I gave only 3 stars on "Responsiveness to issues" is that since have have moved in, we have had a very hard time getting the maintenance/construction team to respond to tickets we've had open for weeks. I believe their team is overwhelmed, and do not expect it to improve as they are starting to break ground on the next phase behind our home. ... More

The house is great. We couldn’t be more pleased.

We had a great experience with Tim our sales rep and Mike our builder. Mike still stops by till this day to make sure there isn’t anything we need with the house!

As our first homebuying experience, we could not have been more impressed with Highland Homes. From the first interaction to well after closing, we were treated with respect and given the highest level of customer service. Their Sales team and Project Manager were all very pleasant to work with and incorporated several changes to our home free of charge before closing. Thank You Highland Homes and looking forward to being a client for years to come.

It is a great neighborhood

This was a tough situation Covid and weather made things go slower than normal. On one hand they were very responsive to making upgrades, changes and things that we were paying for. We did need to rush into the house a little sooner than normal due to the lease we had expiring so there were some touch of things that needed to be done and that is acceptable. The biggest negative I have is with the yard. The sod was dormmate when it was laid down and then the weather hit. It is starting to come around but there are large patches with no grass. Second the irrigation people didn't level back out the yard and there is a valley in the back where water sits and the grass won't grow. I went and bought sod and dirt to try and fix and reached out to the builder. Someone is supposed to come address but noting so far. The one side of the house has standing water always several inches deep and needs a french drain installed. The builder said this will be addressed but still noting back. The last thing is the fact that the builders just buried trash all in the yard. I am finding pieces of wood, plastic fencing, plastic lids an inch below the surface or in the flower beds. I am afraid to pull it up because I will leave a large hole in the yard and tear up what grass I have. ... More

Highland has a stellar reputation for a reason. Our experience could not have been better, especially considering all the curveballs resulting from the pandemic.

Great experience worked great with sales person and construction manager

Highland Homes is a great value for the price. Our home is beautiful. Quality craftmanship throughout is like no other in this area. Brittany and Cody respond immediately to any issues you may have from beginning to end. We are very happy with our purchase.

Highland homes made the building process a breeze. We love our new home and are happy we chose Highland.

Colin was the most attentive builder I have worked with. The home was built in timely fashion, with minor issues along the way.

the craftsmanship is horrible. Now that I have been in my forever home For going on two months, I notice something new every day. If I was to ever buy a new home it will not be a highland home.

Love our house and the process

We were on a Sunday drive through Woodforest when we decided to walk through Highland Homes in the Crest area. Hunter highlighted the features and floorplans which turned us into buyers.

After hearing so many good things about Highland Homes, I decided to build my first home with them. I am honestly disappointed with the quality of workmanship. I would come by every week to see what had been done and the quality of work was very poor. When something new was done, something else was broken or damaged and had to get redone, which caused further delays in the process. I feel there’s no one watching out for the contractors to ensure work is being done properly; whatever gets the job done is done even if it looks bad. Even worse is that I had to bring the visible issues to the construction manager’s attention because it seems he didn’t care. I closed with some outstanding issues that were promised to be fixed after closing and I still have more than half of the issues pending. There is no urgency by anyone to get things done for the customers. They were quick to get me through the closing process to get my $$$, but the quality was definitely lacking and made it a not so good first time home building experience.
