I had to stay on them bringing build and do some stuff myself. Like making sure everything was sealed inside and out.weather siding people kept missing the stud pulse would holes in weather siding that weren’t sealed.Dont thing I have a straight wall in whole house.

We decided to buy another Highland Home because we loved our first Highland Home. The second Highland Home we purchased was a model home. It is very nice but it seems some of the workmanship isn’t as great as our first home. I was also not impressed with Mr Cason’s attitude when doing our walk through. Apparently, the sales person Brad left out that when you buy a model home it sells as is, this was very disappointing since this wasn’t told to us until the day before closing. We still like our home and have been fixing/repairing the few items that Highland said are not covered. Lastly, there was a mural in one of the bedroom walls and Highland accidentally had it painted over due to some miscommunication, this was very disappointing and Mr. Cason didn’t seem to care. The buying process have been smooth except that there’s a lot of pending issues of the house that hasn't been fixed until now and it's been 2 most since the closing date. They knew about this issues before the closing date and we have been patiently waiting for them to fixed it. The builder even told us during the buyer's orientation that they will have a 1-month follow up after the closing date to check if how is the house, but no one came, I guess there is no such thing as that. I hoping they'll be more responsive and act timely not just in words but in action.

I will preface this message by saying our experience with the sales counselor, Thea, and on site construction supervisor. Chuck, has been positive. However, I don’t believe that our Highland home was/is a good value. There were issues before we moved in. There have been issues that we continue to deal with and new items of poor quality and craftsmanship seem to surface almost daily. We had heard very positive comments about the quality of Highland homes, and I believe in other homes, that’s accurate, however, this home does not appear to have been built in the same manner. My list of items to be addressed continues to grow, but we really would like someone at the corporate level to either come to our house or talk with us directly about these ongoing issues and overall poor quality. The house product is great. We love the home and design. My complaint will be that the project managers need to pay attention to detail with the trades coming in doing the work. They are not checking the work and the quality. For the price point, you would expect a greater attention to detail and quality. The overall experience was good just detail and closing presentation needs work. House was not presented in the way I expected at close.

I do love my new home. Mainly due to the location and neighborhood. I love the Trinity Falls community. I do feel the inside products are very cheap as well as the paint job.

We like our home overall and the options and features that were offered. Unfortunately we’ve found many quality issues in the first couple of months that we’ve lived in the home. Many of them were things we brought up prior to moving in to our home. It has been very disruptive to our lives working through the warranty process to resolve issues and often requiring multiple attempts to resolve the issues. Many of the issues we’ve just elected to resolve ourselves because they’re things we’re capable of fixing it and we don’t trust that it’ll be done right. Highland Homes as builder had a good name but in the recent home buying experience I felt little bit different. The construction work took one year to complete and the work was not up to the standard. Even though after pointing out lot of issues and errors in construction it took too much time for them to correct it. The repairs which were supposed to be done prior closing was left out and I was told by the builder that it will be done asap, but it was a false promise. Even today those repairs which was supposed to be done prior closing is not done and I was told to submit a warranty claim for those repairs. I don't understand why should I submit a warranty claim when it should have been done as a part of building process. When I went to the sales office to get more info about this, I was told not to come here and I was advised to contact the person responsible for the construction about this. I send emails but no answer yet. I felt this negligence during the construction period and in many occasions I witnessed slowness. ... More

The house is well design overall. The price was reasonable.

We’ve been in our new home almost two months and have had issues with getting our punch list items resolved since moving in. We have been in touch with our construction manager, and he has been responsive towards us about the fact that they are “working on it”, but at this point even items we have submitted a warranty for are going unamended. Our walkthrough was rushed because of a pushed back closing, but with the idea that a walkthrough takes place a couple weeks before closing so the punch list can be taken care of, it’s frustrating that two months after moving in we are still waiting for this punch list to be completed. We love our home, but it is still incomplete and it seems at this point that we are being given the run around so that issues will be forgotten rather than fixed. ... More

They are very busy and still things are yet to be fixed after a 2 month clouser, i think i paid more for the house compared to similar size build adjustment

I would have liked more communication and honesty on what we were being told.

While I love my floor plan this house was built pretty poorly. Cabinets were installed with damage, the tile everywhere is the absolute worst. Just poor quality all around for a builder that claims they build quality homes

Floor plans and upgrade options are excellent!

Good experience. Wish more care was put into grading the front lawn.

I am disappointed with the craftsmanship. I wouldn’t buy from Highland again.

They get you in, sometimes forget about you and after closing is when you find the carelessness in some of the installs around the house. By then it's too late and you have to live with it.

During the home buying process, especially getting ready to close, we were repeatedly told that highland homes stood behind their work and the home. Repeatedly we were told that if we had any issues just get in contact with Castin, the person that was in charge of our construction, and the countless warranties. Well we have had several minor issues, but issues nonetheless, that we have reached out to get fixed. Nothing has happened. And one of those issues I am not sure is that small. From the beginning an area of our yard has experienced flooding, Castin said it would be fixed before we moved in, yet that certain area of our yard is a mud pit. The house is beautiful, we truly believe we got a good deal, however, we are very disappointed with the service we have received afterwards. If we were to be on our after purchase and highland homes wasn't going to take care of any issues, then that should have been expressed. Instead we were misled. ... More

I bought a home during the thick of COVID-19. There were a lot of delays and a lot of what we originally wanted was not available. Ultimately, we got the home and everything worked out in the end. The build quality was a little lacking. The materials were not kept too well and the doors have noticeable damage and patches on them if you are looking closely at it. So far we had to have warranty repair a few things too. It’s not perfect, but we are grateful to have this home and that Covid didn’t stop us from being able to get it.

We got an excellent price on our home, and the materials are what we would expect. However, the workmanship was below standard. We submitted a list of warrantly issues and none of them have been addressed.

Love Highland homes just wish they were more responsive to warranty request or customer satisfaction request

I signed the home purchase contract on February 11, 2024 and closed on October 10, 2024. I hired an inspector before my final walkthrough. Unfortunately, the gas pipe to the heater was not even connected for testing on October 1. Having great respect for Highland Homes as a Trusted builder, we took their promise that the heater would working and it shouldn’t be a concern. We are very disappointed when I had to suffer 2 days without the working heater for my new home when the temperatures plunged to 19 degrees outside. The house inside temperature dropped to 49 degrees in the morning and finally reached 51 for the high on January 6 and January 7, 2025, which caused us great pain and suffering as I was concerned for my 87 year old mother, who I care for ,living in such a cold conditions. ... The quality of highland home was not good.The lumber material is very cheap compare to low quality builders.The communication towards customer is not good.Sales representative Amy is good at Parkside on the river.But don’t recommend the highland since the quality of wood for framing is not good and also restroom doors.Highland lost its quality.There is one more firm highland homes loans which is company owned lender, One of the worst company to take mortgage loan.I don’t recommend to go with hh loans.

The house is nice but built quickly and thrown together.
