The house is alright. We closed fast and the house was behind schedule. We were promised things would be fixed quickly as we found them but we have found that is not always the case and have had to push to get things fixed.

Highland Homes is first among not so many equals. My delay in responding is that due to the pandemic there are painting touch ups and a few other things which will be accomplished soon. The delays been at our request.

It was a pleasant experience working with the staff and the builders. The quality of Highland Homes are much better than the other homes in the development, and we are happy with our choice.

The Highland team was great. We were having difficulty selling our home and could not get into our Highland home until it sold. Unfortunately, we had a very negative experience with a realtor, which greatly contributed to this issue. Highland was very understanding and flexible with allowing us additional time to get a new realtor and we were able to sell our home! As far as the builder goes, Garrett was awesome! He provided excellent communication by sending a weekly progress report on the progress of the home and promptly follow-up on any questions or concerns we had.

Don’t sign your closing docs until the builder fixes everything! It has taken me over 2 months to get everything fixed the right way and stay on the painters!! The builder has been very responsive about getting back to me but they are so busy building so many houses, their attention to detail from the contractors is not always good. We had to get the the patio and a portion of the driveway“floated” as there was acid/grease stains from the sub contractors, the painters (pretty sure the first painters were fired) had to come at least 5 times to fix things, and there were some finer details in the kitchen that were left unfinished/not painted. Bottom line, the house was rushed and not checked prior to the walkthrough and corporate would not move back the closing date. The materials/quality were good but attention to detail was lacking. ... I had a great experience with the builder! This is my first home and all I can say is that I’m very pleased for my experience.

This was not our first new home, though it was the first time we had built from ground zero. We downsized from a (2) story highland home (new model) of which we loved, to a (1) story highland home new build. Unfortunately, the quality of the material and workmanship of our first home surpassed that of the home recently purchased. The sales team and site manager have helped us process through the building experience but the covid pandemic caused quite a few issues including having to move out the closing date twice.

My home buying experience with Highland is a mixed review. From a floor plan/neighborhood perspective they have very nice floor plan options that are in very nice areas. My sales manager, Sarah T., was fantastic! She was very honest about answering questions and extremely responsive. She walked through each phase step by step. Without a doubt she was what sold me on building with highland and making my experience pleasant. I also appreciated my lending team and my design center consultant. When it came to the project mgmt/construction side - things unfortunately were not as smooth. I assume things in Covid added a layer of complexity in terms of materials and timing, but that should not have an impact on the quality and finishes on the home. When it came time for final walk throughs and closing my home was "finished" with lots of missed items which proved a lack of quality assurance (cracked windows, screws missing from glass door, damaged tile, bathroom drains filled with corrosion, messy cocking, VERY THIN flat standard paint which comes off EXTREMELY easy, etc.). Also there were A LOT of construction remnants left for me to clean and fix in a brand-new house which I feel is unacceptable (I.e. paint spots on floors, pencil markings on the tiles, base boards not flush to the end of the wall, windows not clean, dust on counters, paint/cocking all over most light switches door knobs, and more). My project mgr was responsive but I feel it was hard for my points to be fully understood and made priority. Highland makes a beautiful - I have toured several model and completed inventory homes to confidently say this. What I would say for new buyers is stay on the project mgmt side and ensure they are doing what they should be in terns of finishes. Also, if at all possible...do not close without these items being fixed. I am still having to lead that charge to finish my house I am paying for. ... More

My home was beautifully built. We love it.

Highland has great people and I do believe they are a great builder. However, there are a lot of issues with our home. The craftsmanship in many areas of the house is very poor. We trust each item will be addressed by the builder.

Highland Homes has been great so far with the initial layout, to the service provided by our personal Project Manager, to the finished product. We have nothing but positive feedback to share with the Highland Homes team here at Sandbrock Ranch in Aubrey, TX.

We felt supported throughout every step in the process. Great builder who really understands the meaning of customer service.

Fantastic overall home buying experience

The house finishes are not 100%

Highland Homes has excellent people who helped our son and his young family buy their first home. From start to finish, the experience involving all of us was phenomenal!

Being a 1st time homeowner can be scary and exciting, but for the 1st home to be new construction brings another level of anxiety and excitement. However, Highland Homes made this experience so enjoyable. From the sales to the design to the construction, every team was very open to any and every question we had. The communication was excellent and even during the pandemic we never experienced a delay. They stayed ahead of the curve which is needed in this process. Look no further, Highland is the BEST!!!

This was our second purchase with Highland Homes, because we were so happy with our first one. From the day we expressed interest in a home site to the day we closed (and beyond), the entire Highland team was absolutely amazing! Our Sales Consultant followed up with questions and reminders in a timely manner. She also reached out several times to make sure that our lender wasn’t waiting on anything from her or if she could provide any further documentation. Our Building Foreman was also very responsive, providing progress updates regularly and answering questions in detail to help us understand every step of the construction process. He was very attentive to detail and was on a mission to make sure we were as satisfied as possible with our new home. He was always happy to make sure subcontractors corrected any installations that we weren’t happy with to make sure they were 100% correct. Both were always professional and friendly! We moved up our closing date on our home based on Highland saying they would be done earlier than we thought they would. Big mistake. They did not complete in time and we had no where to go and moved in. Still not done with issues and we have been here for 2 months. Not the way we planned. Cabinet company came out in about two weeks and hasn't been back in 6-7 weeks- forget holidays, we are just fed up - that is only one thing that is not fixed/completed. Only move in if completely done and hope you have no issues. I will never move around the holidays again and never take a builders word for when they will complete a home - I will wait and wait and wait to close for never having these headaches and that builder will need to wait on me and will understand since we have this story to tell. The quality of the home is very good for what was done and the sales rep was great but I can not handle the ups and downs again. I have been home since we are still in Covid protocol and that is the one thing saving us for whenever people can come, I am here to get things checked off our very long of things that need to be done. Trust me, this review is being nice since our frustrations run so high but "it is what it is" as a friend of ours always says. We just deal with it. If Highland is reading this - they know who this is and that is a shame for it can not really be anonymous and this story sticks our like a glaring red dot on the page. ... More
