Highland has great people and I do believe they are a great builder. However, there are a lot of issues with our home. The craftsmanship in many areas of the house is very poor. We trust each item will be addressed by the builder.

My experience started off great, but once we got close to the end to close that's when we had issue with getting items completed. The sales person was great she did the best she could to get items addressed. However, the construction team was slow and unresponsive to getting items ready for a final walkthrough. Things weren't ready until 5 minutes before we had to close.

Service after the sale is poor. We’re told GE Profile appliances, many substituted by lower priced models

Wasn’t a very pleasant home purchase. We had issues from the day we moved in and had to reach out many times to get things fixed.

We had a great process most of the way. The sales people were fantastic; super helpful and went out of the way in many cases to assist us. The construction side was pretty good - they cared and tried. They were pretty flexible and worked with us to accommodate some special requests. The company is higher quality than many others, but there were still small shortcuts taken here and there that were frustrating. We then got caught up in the COVID hype and they cancelled walk-thrus and refused to work on warranty items even though construction was continuing right next door on other houses. That was very frustrating and the communication was not great during this time, but the circumstances were unusual. Overall, they could have been better, but I have seen alot worse out there. There needs to be more communication with the trades when constructing the homes. Quality and workmanship seem to suffer and it creates unnecessary construction rework. Relator representing Highland needs to follow through in a timely fashion on promises deliverables to Highland customers. For the price it's a good value. If you're building from the ground up, keep in touch with the construction manager and make on site visits to check progress.

Highland Homes are good. It is a better home than a lot of other builders I’ve seen. Certain things could have been done better.

Local Highland Team are great. Local Subcontractors are Poor. Product and materials vary from good to poor. Processes need work.

Lot unfinished work need to be done. T Jet tub not working.

No attention to detail. A lot of small problems that could have been quick fixes were ignored. Took too much time replacing or repairing items.

Home is average, had multiple issues upon moving in but the service and timeliness to tend to the issues were excellent. I must commend the sales/ construction management team on their service, but I would not buy nor recommend a Highland home to anyone.

Love the people at Highland Homes and their home designs. The home building industry has a shortage of qualified skilled labor so end product suffers. I have maybe two walls in the house that does not have a texture/paint flaws. I thought a half million dollar product would look better. I think all builders have the same problems though. Again the people at Highland Homes are OUTSTANDING!!!

Overall, we are happy with our home...but there are little things we think Highland could have done better at. Since moving in we've found things that either the construction manager or the subs should have caught before releasing the home. For instance - uneven grout, tiles with clearly visible chips, wobbly paint lines, inoperable or poorly installed data cables, and overall cleaning prior to release. I will say that when brought to the attention of the builder, they have been quick to remedy. Like I said, we are happy with the house but I doubt we will go with Highland if and when we need to move to a larger home. I believe that I got a great home, however there were many things that had to be done well after the move in. I believe it was rushed and therefore much was missed. The employees of highland however have been really great and truly want to help so that has made it easier to deal with things that were missed. Overall it is a great place to live and a great builder to purchase with. The biggest thing they need to work on is finishing everything to the customers expectations and get a new cleaning crew!!!! I had to pay over $400 after moving in just to get my house clean! Worst cleaning crew ever!!!! If they continue to use the ladies they are using now expect to have to clean your house multiple times over just to get it livable to expectations! Paint is still on my floors, caulk in the drains, grout in the drains, trash in the yard. Windows I’m still cleaning 2 months after the fact due to paint on them I can’t get off. I am writing to express my concerns regarding the workmanship on our new home. While we understand that no home is without minor imperfections, my husband and I have encountered several issues that have left us disappointed, given the significant investment we made. During the construction process, we visited the site regularly and noticed some concerning behaviors and quality issues: *We frequently saw beer cans scattered around the site. *There was evidence of smoking inside our home, even though we are non- smokers. We brought several issues to the attention of the construction manager and he promised they would be fixed and till this day their still not fixed. * improperly installed items *paint on the floor, bathroom fixtures, lights crooked (not slightly crooked) *front door installed incorrectly *the list goes on For the amount of money we paid, it feels as though it's a starter home. The attention to quality control was almost impossible because of the "assembly line" process of a single construction manager trying to oversee multiple homes (15 plus in our case). The electrical work was incomplete and incompetent at times. Lack of crown molding and the use of basic base molding was dissappointing. Trash pickup in and around the house was infrequent . The choices for lighting were few, and upcharges were excessive for additional ceiling fans (should have been standard for bedrooms and porch). Too much vehicle conjestion on the narrow street. The house design and the beauty of the Mustang Lakes development is attractive, but the process of a single street being constructed simultaneously was frustrating, especially with houses only 10 feet apart. We have mixed feelings about our experience with Highland Homes. While we love our new home, it does have its flaws. The Short Version The overall purchase process was alright; everyone we interacted with was friendly and professional. However, several issues arose during construction that have left us somewhat disappointed. The Long Version Initially, everything was going well. The team was professional and helpful. Unfortunately, a construction fire early in the process caused a significant delay. Thankfully, no one was hurt. As construction progressed, we began noticing several concerning issues: -Mysterious stains on the plywood -Windows left open after drywall installation, allowing water inside -A leak in the area where fire repairs were made, due to missing shingles To their credit, Highland Homes addressed the major structural issues, and the house is structurally well-built. We had the option to back out, but after consulting with several lawyers, we decided to proceed. Our main disappointment lies in the sloppy delivery: -Mortar chunks left on the porch and patio -Miscolored concrete and sloppy patch repairs -Poor construction cleanup before closing, including paint splatters on the tile and cabinetry -Smeared silicone caulk on tiles, making them difficult to clean -Questionable smears on the walls/ ceiling We expected a higher level of quality from Highland Homes, especially since this isn't our first build and we knew what to look out for. Everything was going great until the day after funds were transferred on closing. There are still items from our second walk-through that are pending. There is absolutely no communication on getting these items fixed. I have called multiple people at corporate and have always been redirected and left voicemails because i was reassured that I would get a return call but that hasn't happened yet. It has been over two months since closing and items from our walkthrough are still pending. The process with our construction manager was seamless. However after closing, It's hard to reach anyone and communication is minimal to none. I would suggest that anyone buying a house to make sure everything is fixed before transferring funds. I can't imagine how horrible it will be submitting warranty request when items from before closing haven't been done. It is night and day difference how highland homes treats you when they already have your money vs when they don't. Our sales folks and builder never seemed to be on the same page from the get go. Despite several attempts to bridge the gap between us and the builder, we had to bring in the senior manager to help rectify the situation. Once that was done, the customer service and communication improved to an acceptable level. The home was delivered later than promised, but the quality is definitely there.

Have to done your own servery because many issues left and after closing last 2 months still come up here and there

Cabinets are worse than off the shelf Hone Depot or Lowe’s . Typical drywall and electric issues that a production builder does. Minimal oversight and although some stuff gets fixed, the overall house is way overpriced. At least we did not spend more for the same builder in another community.

My biggest gripe is the homeowner doesn’t really get a say so on the house. For example the height of the shower head. I’m 5ft but the shower head is placed so high I had to buy a removable shower head so I could bathe. You don’t get to choose which side the locks go on the gates. It’s perceived that you are part of the decision making as far as the house but you really aren’t. You don’t even get to choose the type of door bell you want or where it’s placed.

Could be better. The loan experience was good

Loved the quality of the home, but I do wish certain things I knew what I know now. I do wish they have a better option at design center and not charge u so much for little things like tiles I’m sure they already have that price included in the house
