My chief complaint is that there was an obvious lack of QA that went into the build of the house. Cabinets, doors, and shelving being unevenly installed. Paint splatter and staining on brand new floors and one of the contractors p***** on the wall in our bathroom in the time between signing and closing. You'd think for something that cost half a million dollars they'd at least put some effort into delivering a quality product.

We are happy with our new home from Highland Homes! It's well-crafted and it's a quality home. We experience some small issues but the Highland Homes team was very quick to respond and made the fix. Really nothing major to complain about, customer service was great!

From Gracie in the Sales Office, to Clint our builder who went above and beyond, to Amanda in mortgage banking, the whole experience was top shelf! Thank you everyone!

We love the floor plan of single story with very high ceilings. Makes the home feel much larger than it is. Narrow doorways and smaller secondary bedrooms are not an issue. Generously sized windows across the back is the main focus. We love nature and enjoy living with in it.

All of the workmanship has been great. All small is*****s we have had have been handled quickly and without complication.

The team was absolutely amazing to work with and incredibly responsive throughout the entire process. Their prompt communication and helpful attitude made a fantastic impression, and I highly recommend them.

We were lucky enough to get to work with Gracie, Conner, and their teams. They did a fantastic job building our home. They both went above and beyond what was expected, and we love our new home. Conner really took care of us when it came to building and finishing the house. For example, our inspector noticed a tiny dent in the front of our oven - my wife and I never would have seen it in a million years, but once you saw it, you couldn’t unsee it. We asked Conner if he could do anything about it, but with only a short time before closing, it seemed unlikely. Then, despite the short notice, a few days later, he told me he had gotten it taken care of for us, and it was fixed in time for closing. Gracie did a great job guiding us through the upgrade options. She was very easy to work with and I never felt pressured to get unnecessary upgrades. She was very knowledgeable about which upgrades other homeowners were especially happy with - we came to trust her insights. One specific upgrade she highly recommended was the deep inset for the primary shower floor instead of the base acrylic style. With that upgrade we were able to make our dream walk-in shower with a penny-tile floor. Now, the primary shower is my wife’s favorite part of our entire home. ... More

From beginning to end and beyond, the Highland team has surpassed expectations. Starting with Tyler in Sales, who was super knowledgeable and helpful, to Mark, our Construction Manager, who had amazing attention to detail, the building process was great. The in-house finance team led by Sarah was easy to work with and very responsive. Highland Homes design studio is a one-of-a-kind experience, and our designer, Kimberly, shared so many great insights that helped us get the important details right. The experience with this builder is good.

We purchased an inventory home and there are a few items that I would have certainly addressed if I had a home built instead. For example, the walls around the media room are not insulated so we are unable to enjoy sound isolation when watching a movie. The landscaping (plants / shrubbery) was installed too close to the driveway so that you have to step into the landscaping to exit your vehicle. The plumbing through the walls is not insulated for sound in anyway so anytime we use water, you can hear it clearly through the walls. We've had an excellent experience with Highland Homes from start to finish. The service has been exceptional even after closing, which really sets them apart. Tina was fantastic throughout the purchase process-knowledgeable, responsive and great to work with. Juan has also been terrific handling any post-closing items quickly and professionally. This is not our first new home experience but it has definitely been the best.

Buying process was very streamlined and organized. As first time home buyer I don't know what I don't know so having someone from Highland walk us through the home was great. Juan made the process easy and made sure all of our questions were answered. Him and Tina are both great and easy to work with!

We’ve had a fantastic time with highland since buying a spec home in late 2025. We feel like we got a great deal for where the market was and the team was very easy to work with. Lots of times with new builds and specs in general you walk in and feel like you have to be your own inspector. It’s hard for people to trust specs as they can’t watch the entire process. The items we found during our walkthroughs were all small cosmetic and even our third party inspector only found a small issue that was fixed quickly. We’ve watched hundreds of new builds between the two homes we’ve had in this area over the last decade and have been impressed with highlands contractors. They actually ensure the work is done to spec the first time and not waiting for an owner to find an issue. They also keep their job sites really clean which matters when dozens of homes are going up. Post move in any issue or question we had, Lane and team answered quickly and to our satisfaction. To date (6-9 months in) we’ve only had one small trim issue which I think speaks to the quality. We’ve also enjoyed seeing the team around the neighborhood almost daily and always like checking in their new builds and how things are going. They truly care for their owners post close which is also a rarity. The home buying experience was a good one with Highland Homes. The few issues we have had since closing have been dealt with very quickly. Highland definitely offers a great home buying experience and product.

We’re currently renting a home in Conroe, Texas, and have really come to appreciate its white painted brick, high ceilings, and open floor plan. As we began searching for our retirement home in the Texas Hill Country, we visited Lakeside at Tessera and toured a model home. From the moment we walked in, we loved the views and instantly felt at home. When we learned the model was for sale, it felt like the perfect opportunity—and we decided to purchase it. Interestingly, we later discovered that our rental home is also a Highland home with a very similar floor plan. That connection made us even more confident in our decision.
