We just moved from out of state, and honestly, that could have been a nerve-wracking process… but Heather and Henry made it feel easy. Heather teamed up with our realtor, Amy, and walked us through every step using FaceTime and photos, she made sure we knew exactly what was going on, kept us comfortable and confident, and never left us wondering if we were getting everything we wanted. Henry, our Highland Homes builder went above and beyond. He took extra time to FaceTime us, send frequent pictures, and give continuous updates so we always felt connected to the build, even from far away. We chose Highland based on the large lot and amazing floor plan. The ability to customize everything allowed us to make this home our dream home! The process was extremely smooth. Our builder, Michael, really went above and beyond with communication, keeping us in the loop and offering ideas to support us through the process. Even after closing, we were able to contact him with questions and he still responded with the same friendliness and speed as though we were still building. I would absolutely recommend Highland for anyone looking for beautiful and quality work.

Highland does a great job from start to finish getting people into new beautiful homes. Everyone I worked with through the process was fantastic to work with - very responsive to questions & res one any issues.

Since moving into our home, our experience has been wonderful. Zach is very responsive to any issues that have come up. However, we almost did not go through with our purchase due to major issues/miscommunication with the loan officers. I honestly don't have the energy to type everything out here. It was way more stressful than it had to be due to errors and lack of communication/explanation.

This was our first home buying experience so we were a little nervous, but right from the start Brooke and Mike were so wonderful in helping us through the whole process. They were always available to answer our questions, gave us ample time to make decisions, and communicated in a timely fashion with updates along the way. Even after we closed on the house, Mike has continued to answer questions for me when I know he is super busy with other projects and that means a lot that he still finds the time to make sure we are happy with the house. My wife and I began looking at homes about a year ago and met Amy (Sales consultant) for the first time there; after that meeting, Amy worked tirelessly to find us our forever home. It has everything we had ever wanted in a home and more! The building supervisor D’Marco was amazing and extremely responsive to any questions we had or any help needed. The overall process from touring to the finalized purchase was extremely smooth and would recommend highland homes to anyone who is on the fence for a builder.

Purchasing a home while living in another state could have been stressful but Jeremy and Andrew were super responsive to our emails and texts and keeping us updated on the process of building our new home. Love our floorplan (Birchwood) and the finishes and options we chose.

If you’re considering working with Highland Homes and their preferred lender—don’t. This has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences of my life, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. They had our loan documents for months, and every time they asked for updated paperwork, we responded immediately. And to be clear—none of the delays were due to issues with our approval or finances. We were fully qualified. The only thing standing in the way was their incompetence. Somehow, our paperwork still “got lost in the shuffle.” One week before closing, they casually informed us the deal would need to be postponed because they still hadn’t sent the documents to the VA. That delay? It cost us another 39 days, forced my family into temporary housing, and added an incredible amount of stress to what should have been an exciting time. Throughout this nightmare, there was a constant game of blame ping-pong. No accountability. No urgency. Just a whole lot of “not my department.” And if that wasn’t enough—now that we’ve been in the house for nearly two months, we still can’t receive mail. Why? Because the developer forgot to install mailboxes on our street. You read that right: mailboxes. Gone. Missing. Never installed. Despite repeated visits to the post office and escalating the issue, Highland Homes has done absolutely nothing to resolve it. Just more deflection, delay, and disinterest. When you spend $1.2 million, you expect a minimum level of competence and customer service. What we got was a masterclass in how not to take care of your buyers. We had an excellent and easy experience with buying our Highland home. Tina, the salesperson helped us understand the steps we needed to follow to purchase the home. She was knowledgeable and patient in answering all of our questions. She had a very reassuring and positive personality. Whitaker, who was supervisor of the building of our home, was attentive and responsive through the purchasing process. He was aware of every aspect of how things were supposed to work in our home. He gave us confidence in the quality of the home. He ensured that everything was in tip-top shape. We had done some research home on builders and Highland had very good reviews.
