The home buying process with Highland was overall a great process. Todd was very professional, knowledgable and responsive. He believed in the quality of Highland’s homes, and it showed. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with. Ian and Ashley were phenomenal. They are both very detailed oriented and are always on top of things. We are still amazed at how they handle so many houses without having anything fall through the cracks. The experience going through the builder’s lender was not good and needs to be improved. The design center process was not bad. There were times where the response times were slow, but we were pleased with the choices offered by Highland. We also found that Highland offered a quality choices within its standard options which helps for managing the cost of the home. ... More

My husband and I had the best experience with Highland. From walking through the home to purchasing to doing the walkthroughs with Yale, everything went as smoothly as possible and we couldn’t be happier with our home purchase. The quality of the materials used is very good, designs are beautiful and efficient, and there’s not wasted space. Yale was able to change out the things we didn’t like, add what we wanted/asked for, and above all else he is a very kind person. Even after we moved in he still comes to check on us or to help us find contractors for things we want to get done to the house (such as garage floor epoxy). We love our new home and everything about it. Our one true concern was some lack of focus on the details concerning the installation of grout, caulk, and paint throughout the house. We have noticed gouges in the seems throughout the house where there was lack of attention. Dustin has been great in addressing every issue to insure our new home is 100%.

I had a great experience purchasing a home from Highland Homes. I think it’s great value for the bucks paid compared to other high-end builders. My building manager Trey is one of the best. This was my first home-buying experience and he really made the transition seamless during the walkthrough and handover process. The team is also very responsive in addressing any challenges or issues identified.

The sales office at Saddle Star was amazing. They helped us during our build and made sure everything was taken care of. All issues were followed up on until they were completed to our satisfaction.

waiting for follow-up visit to answer some concerns. lawn sod is not bouncing back as promised - some gaps between sod pieces. glue on floor boards not adequately cleaned up.

Overall the buying experience with HH has been good. The sales team as well as the project manager have been very cooperative and always heard our concerns. Todd, Ivonne and Dillon were always helpful. I cannot say the same with HH third party vendors whether it is low voltage or high voltage. A well linked document tracking with all changes is something HH can improve upon. It wasn't easy to track. Construction quality was good but painting needs significant improvement. I still see lots of patches across the inside walls. Unimportant, but it would have made a huge difference, normally, all builders give a nice hamper (chocolates, wine , hand towels with our names) at the time of closing. No such thing was provided. We've had several opportunities to work with Highland Homes, this being the first home we completed with them, and our experiences with them have been harmonious and impressive. They go over and above in many ways, and we know first hand that other large builders would not offer the same. The biggest problem we did encountered was with the design center and the selection of certain home items. The kitchen cabinets were far darker than they appeared in the design center but Highland Homes very graciously offered some alternatives that met the need perfectly! For this we are so grateful! There were other little issues with the design center where more guidance was needed but not provided but should we do this again, we will know to do our own research and get more information before deciding. We've built homes before and did not have this issue so this was a learning experience. The only other things I would mention have to do with communication with the sales team. They were always very cheerful and ready to help but some key information was not given to us until we were fully committed to this property and house. Such as the extent of lawn and landscape that we are responsible for involves common areas outside our lot. Areas that, in our experience, had always been cared for by the HOA in those communities. The HOA here while being far more expensive does not care for these areas and the restrictions on said landscape are nonnegotiable. We felt this was very poorly handled and unfair to us. There have been some disappointments in other things with work by their sub contractors. Sprinkler system, lawn and tree health and growth. Quality of some of the workmanship that sub contractors have had to return to correct or fix. But this has been addressed quickly by Highland Homes with plenty of follow up by the builder to ensure our satisfaction. Overall, my home-buying experience was fantastic! My sales agent, Kathi, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and responsive to my inquiries. My realtor shared my price range with Kathi, and we were able to negotiate a beautiful home that perfectly meets my needs. My construction experience was generally satisfactory. Fortunately, the house was in the late stages of construction, so I didn’t have to endure the lengthy wait for completion or the hassle of building from scratch. The craftsmanship at Highland Homes is truly remarkable, surpassing the quality of my previous builder. While there are a few minor nitpicks, I am generally pleased with my purchase. I am still experiencing issues with my HVAC system, awaiting reimbursement for water due to a leak discovered after closing, and the stair still makes a cracking noise. Nevertheless, these minor problems do not overshadow my overall satisfaction with my home. ... More

The team at Highland Homes are great to work with. No pressure and they always go the extra mile to walk you through everything. In our case they helped us move in a few weeks sooner than they anticipated.

Highland builds a great house. There were a few instances where there were inadvertent mistakes made with the incorrect material shipped that got installed. Once Highland found out, they quickly replaced the product to our satisfaction, no questions asked. We get an update each week providing information on what was completed that week and what's on the work schedule for the next week. It's been a great experience and I would highly recommend Highland to anyone looking to build a new home.

I had a very positive experience with the Sales person Sia. Not only was he was very knowledgeable about the build process but was very helpful and understanding. Sia went out of his way to accommodate our needs which was very refreshing. I cannot thank Sia enough for working with us and for his helpful nature. The construction build process was a little disappointing since they changed 3 construction managers on us from start to finish. The quality of construction especially during framing process was not good. Several build issues that were called out by the third party inspection report were not fixed even though I was given assurance that it was fixed. The issues were carried over towards the end of the build process and were challenging to fix them at the final stage. The architectural part of the floor plan could have been better in some areas like Master Bathroom, cabinets and front entrance. I strongly encourage for the architects to take a hard look and make improvements. Thanks to construction managers Tim J and Ryan A for being helpful and making appropriate suggestions. The process from the initial purchase to final move-in was smooth and well-organized. The builder kept everything on schedule, and there were no major surprises along the way. They made what could have been a stressful experience much easier for us. The quality of the home is excellent, with attention to detail throughout. It’s clear that they used high-quality materials and didn’t cut corners. For the price, we feel we got exceptional value, and we’re proud to call this place home. The builder’s team was fantastic to work with. They were professional, courteous, and always available to address any questions or concerns.
