As a real estate broker, I’ve worked with countless builders and community managers, and Highland Homes has consistently exceeded my expectations. Now, experiencing the process as a buyer, I can personally confirm everything my clients have said about them. We absolutely love our home. From start to finish, and even through post-closing repairs, the entire process has been smooth, streamlined, and stress-free. I highly recommend Highland Homes and their exceptional team.

The sales agents were great to work with during the buying process. Also, the finace agents were great to work with. The construction manager got changed during the process. I am not happy with the following items: 1. The towel rod is in the master toilet room, not placed next to the tub. Reason from the manager: The trim person is not allowed to drill into tile, because it could crack. This maybe true, but the window blind installer did it and the shower installer did it. This made think about the skill level of the workers. This is a high end home builder, therefore they will have very skillful workers. The manager should get the shower installer put in the towel rod. 2. The light switches in the master toilet room and the second bathroom are placed far away from the door, it got placed more than 2 feet away from the door. Reason from the manager: There are studs in the way to move the wires. Yes this is true, but it can get rewire. 3. The keyhole for the interior garage door is upside down. Reason from the manager: This is how we build all of the homes. The process to change the keyhole is very simple. I had to do it, it took 5 minutes. I would not have purchase this house, if I knew that the above items could not get resolved. I feel it should have be caught early in the building process. ... More

Quality of the construction could have been better. I have seen a lot of minor issues within the first month of moving in. However, I do appreciate the responsiveness towards fixing the issues.

The buying process was great. Sales people worked well with us and our realtor giving us much incentives and access to the home to check and review it. At move in our project / builder manager was always available ensuring details were addressed and fixed. All working as expected. Nice to have the support as you move in and get familiar with your new home.

Highland Homes built our beautiful home in Celina, TX, and we couldn’t be more grateful for how it all came together. Like any new build, there were moments where we had concerns, but Highland really showed up for us. Their supervisor got personally involved, stayed in close touch, and made sure every issue was handled the right way. They listened, followed through, and sent the right people as many times as it took to make things right. That level of care built our trust—and in the end, they delivered not just a house, but a home we truly love.

Choose your house engineer carefully if you can. Make sure they actually understand what’s happening inside the house. In my case, the concrete was poured on a rainy day, which led to cracks. Any concerns I raised were brushed off as “common.” There was no blue-tape walkthrough, even a month after moving in, supposedly due to a “new Highland policy.” A design center mistake caused mismatched grout in the bathrooms that was never corrected, even though I was told verbally it would be. Several promises were made but not delivered. As a corner lot, we were supposed to receive upgraded side trees, which never happened. I was also told the exterior electrical setup would be finalized later, but that discussion never took place. Highland might build great homes, but your experience really depends on The Who is over seeing your project builder you get. ... More

During my search for a home I looked at several builders but when I walked into the Dove Hollow model I knew I had found my builder. The offered a home that met the things I was looking for in my home. I knew immediately my search was over. The sales team was excellent, answered my many questions, even after I was under contract. They have been very responsive to all requests for minor fixes since moving.

The experience with him is not quite good, there are some upgrades in the house that was not mentioned and it was too late to add it in, and there are some that are missing like a middle shelve in the main closet and he said it doesn't have one and the corner edge of the bathroom tiles doesn't have covering and its showing all the roughness of the tiles and there's one towel holder in one of the bathroom that is missing. There are paint issues all over the house that its not address yet. Not satisfied, might sell the house.

Highland Homes is a quality home, especially for the price and the team support throughout the build process. They were quick to respond to our requests and followed through on their commitments. This was our second Highland Home purchase. Julie is always awesome.

What can I say, except there was never a single ounce of hesitation or concern that we were in the right place and in the right hands. From the moment we walked into the model home and community, which instantly felt less like a showcase and more like an actual home, we knew where we wanted to be. The Highland sales representatives welcomed us with warmth, hospitality, a level of trust, truth and honesty, along with a knowledge of the build and willingness to understand our needs that immediately put us at ease. Our project manager carried that trust all the way through, keeping us informed (and calm) even during the inevitable slow stretches of progress. We will always say that his Thursday evening emails were the best part of our Friday mornings and start to our weekend. We couldn’t be happier that we were paired with him and to be in charge of our build. We feel incredibly lucky, grateful, and honestly a little in awe that we have this opportunity to live in such an incredible community and amazing home. As an Architect and Contractor, I know and understand the design and construction process. In looking for a builder I reviewed current Highland homes under construction and was impressed with the design, quality and attention to detail. Our Sales Counselor was amazing. She explained the process and helped with our initial budget, our final contact was under that budget! She was always available and provided great insight on options. The design process was excellent, the design center provided a lot of really good materials to choose from. We knew the cost impact of design decisions throughout the process. Our construction manager was involved in the design phase and kept us up to date on the progress of construction and explained next steps clearly. There are always issues with construction, he was all over anything that needed attention. Everyone was great! We got into the house of our dreams ahead of schedule, Zach our sales rep was amazing!

Overall happy with house. Painters were careless and completely missed some spots. Some request during construction were completely ignored. Cabinetry work was less than ideal.

We love our new home and everything about it. Our one true concern was some lack of focus on the details concerning the installation of grout, caulk, and paint throughout the house. We have noticed gouges in the seems throughout the house where there was lack of attention. Dustin has been great in addressing every issue to insure our new home is 100%.
