Highland Homes - Our sales consultant, Steve, was great to work with.

Our sales consultant, Steve, was great to work with. He was knowledgeable, could articulate the value and was always looking to solve for "yes". Post sales, I thought the the execution on the end product is only as good as the trades that are hired. Quality of materials aside, I wasn't convinced that Highland had any competitive advantage in this regard.

The start on picking out home design center was great. The building of the house we had delays some out of buildings control but some was too.At the final walk through we found things that were marked but not completed after we closed and still for two mouths aren't.Miner stuff we were told to call directly to builders haven't been addressed.

The buying process have been smooth except that there’s a lot of pending issues of the house that hasn't been fixed until now and it's been 2 most since the closing date. They knew about this issues before the closing date and we have been patiently waiting for them to fixed it. The builder even told us during the buyer's orientation that they will have a 1-month follow up after the closing date to check if how is the house, but no one came, I guess there is no such thing as that. I hoping they'll be more responsive and act timely not just in words but in action.

I do love my new home. Mainly due to the location and neighborhood. I love the Trinity Falls community. I do feel the inside products are very cheap as well as the paint job.

Highland Homes as builder had a good name but in the recent home buying experience I felt little bit different. The construction work took one year to complete and the work was not up to the standard. Even though after pointing out lot of issues and errors in construction it took too much time for them to correct it. The repairs which were supposed to be done prior closing was left out and I was told by the builder that it will be done asap, but it was a false promise. Even today those repairs which was supposed to be done prior closing is not done and I was told to submit a warranty claim ...

We’ve been in our new home almost two months and have had issues with getting our punch list items resolved since moving in. We have been in touch with our construction manager, and he has been responsive towards us about the fact that they are “working on it”, but at this point even items we have submitted a warranty for are going unamended. Our walkthrough was rushed because of a pushed back closing, but with the idea that a walkthrough takes place a couple weeks before closing so the punch list can be taken care of, it’s frustrating that two months after moving in we are still waiting for ...

While I love my floor plan this house was built pretty poorly. Cabinets were installed with damage, the tile everywhere is the absolute worst. Just poor quality all around for a builder that claims they build quality homes

Standing behind their home

During the home buying process, especially getting ready to close, we were repeatedly told that highland homes stood behind their work and the home. Repeatedly we were told that if we had any issues just get in contact with Castin, the person that was in charge of our construction, and the countless warranties. Well we have had several minor issues, but issues nonetheless, that we have reached out to get fixed. Nothing has happened. And one of those issues I am not sure is that small. From the beginning an area of our yard has experienced flooding, Castin said it would be fixed before we ...

The buying experience was terrific. Anytime we had an issue, we got an immediate response and a solution to the problem, but after closing, things could not be more different. We have been waiting months to get things fixed, and nothing has been done. Keep sending emails, and Highland says o we have sent that over to the warranty team with no response or timeline as to when things will be fixed. On the other hand, highland home loans have been outstanding both before and after closing, answering any questions and not forgetting about me after closing.

Our house has cracks on walls and garage and they continue to extend. We did call it out prior to closing and some of them were addressed. Probably put paint over the cracks. Kitchen cabinets were painted poorly. I requested a few to be redone prior to closing. It was somewhat fixed but overrall cabinets quality especially in the kitchen l would rate 1 star .Concrete in the garage lots of cracks and we were told thats normal unless l can put a coin in the cracks, thats when its considered to be addressed Service and responsiveness was great but the quality not so good

Experience was good throughout the 7 months build process. Our builder tony was amazing throughout the process. Things that could have been done better is all the cabinets they are poor in quality and work done by cabinet company when we moved in they had scratches dirt marks that are not removable. Quality is poor. Paint job is poor quality as well. For half a million home definitely not great. There are lot of things that could be done better for highlands reputation

i dont think there is a square wall in this house. We previously had a home custom built and buying from a big box builder has lived up to their build fast and not accurate reputation. the sheetrock is crumbly, the paint falls off the wall if you touch it, the door paint has runs in it. We've had the electrician out three times. The person that we contact if something is wrong, has been fabulous. It's just when you pay close to half a million dollars for a home, you expect it to be top notch not sloppy.

Highland's system to keep track of changes is antiquated and makes it very difficult to keep track of things. It's so bad that even the builder themselves miss things that you order and/or changes you make. It took Highland over two months to give me a final price on our home. Highland has some really great floorplans and they use the square footage well. However, the fit and finish is very poor. Every door jam is full of gouges, paint drips on painted cabinets and baseboards, missing caulk between baseboards and floors in random rooms/areas, paint drips on floor, missed painting spots on ...

Sales co-ordination was great. Construction timelines and updated were perfect to begin with. Halfway thru, I had to check on the progress almost every week and point out issues. Final walk was rushed enough, hours before closing and with pending works. We moved into our house end of June 2022 and still dealing with issues, which should have never occurred or should have been fixed by construction manager well before closing. After moving in, I got to know almost half the workmen team to fix issues. To name a few - cabinets, counter tops, doors/trims, sheetrock, vent team, electrical, ...

We had an below average experience. Although it was mostly due to our real estate agent who did not have our best interest in mind, we also had issues with the sales counselor Kevin. He lied many times and spoke rudely to us saying we were not listening. The builder as well is okay. Things were not getting done right in the first place and had to be asked several times to be fixed. it was all mostly a lack of communication and provided us with below average experience.

Kathi - the selling agent and her team - was incredible! She went above and beyond to help everything go smoothly! Ryan the builder, was great up front, but there are things that still need to be done to the home that were on the closing list from June. The response to complete that list has been a little lacking.

We bought a spec home already under construction so we were not allowed to go to the design center, which didn’t give us options for add-ons such as blinds, adding exterior lighting etc. We were not told that the standard paint was flat, nor were we given the option to “upgrade” the paint. Flat paint is the worst! Our appraisal came in $33,716 UNDER list price and we were told they would not negotiate it and we were stuck since we had already sold our previous home. We have had so many issues and have had the contractors in and out more than a handful of times. Have only lived here for 2 ...
