From sales to construction to design, everyone was knowledgeable and kind. For our very first home, going with Highland seemed like a pipe dream, but we found a plan within our budget. Now, we have our forever home.

Eric and Tim made everything easy! Eric was awesome to deal with and communication was great. I appreciate all the extra time and thoughtfulness he put into the project. I would definitely recommend Highlands to anybody.

This is our second Highland and so far we have been just as happy with the experience so far. Any issues have been addressed and continue to be addressed. The overall buying experience was good and were able to move in on the date we needed.

Experience was okay. I do not recommend using the Highland lender and you need to triple check all work done by their trades.

Overall, my homebuying experience with Highland Homes has been very good. The buying process went smoothly, and I've been especially pleased with how responsive the Highland team has been whenever I've submitted an issue or work request. My main concern has been the attention to detail in the workmanship and final finishing. There have been quite a few small items that should have been caught before closing, including missed paint spots, drawers that do not operate properly, HVAC ducts that were not properly installed, and a thermostat that appears to be poorly located and does not read the temperature accurately, along with several other minor issues. I love the house and am very happy with the home overall, but it has been difficult to fully enjoy a brand-new home when I'm constantly finding small items that require another service request. None of the issues individually are major, but collectively they take away from the experience. Highland has been great about responding and addressing concerns, and I appreciate that. I just wish more attention had been given to the final quality-control inspection so these issues could have been identified and corrected before move-in. ... More

David ***** the construction manager was always super courteous and professional. He listened to our concerns and our requests and built us a wonderful home. His crew's workmanship is great also. David also made sure all of blue taped stuffs were completed and kept his promises. Would recommend David and his crew for building your next dream home.

Sales agent was a month off during the sale regarding completion date. This threw off everything regarding a cross country move. Affected my old employment, new employment, kids education, moving costs, etc. Then the preferred lender was a nightmare process as well, further delaying closing. This was not a friendly process for out of state movers. Fortunately, there are great people on the team to salvage the issue. Most notably Mike *****, Ron, and Carter. They worked hard to make things right. Thank you.

Highland Homes is a known high-end home builder which is what attracted us to this builder and Artavia location. Our experience with Kelly, our salesperson was fantastic. She was very perfessional, knew all the home purchasing details, and gave us every opportunity to make a sound decision. Once we purchased, our experience with Jimmy, our home construction manager was also a great experience. He kept us informed throughout the build process and answered all our questions. Our appointments along the way were timely, very informative, and gave us the opportunity to discuss and address any concerns we may have had. The number of items we've had to flag both before and after closing, and the amount of subcontractor follow‑up required, feels unreasonable. It's starting to seem like a broader quality‑control issue, which is really disappointing.

Sales rep, Troy, is an amazing guy with a great personality. He made the process tolerable which I gave a star. I expected high quality work and since moving, there have been multiple issues, albeit, minor issues but worries me that there may be major issues down the road. Initially had rodents in the house because during construction, doors were left open, food from workers was found in the home, etc. A hole was found in the subfloor and was told it was fixed. Carpet was added but when pulled up, the hole was still there (lost stars for trustworthiness). Home is not sealed well around doors and windows. Cracking of caulk already happening just 3 months since moving. Door knobs loose and needed to be tightened. ***** fixtures and areas where paint did not get multiple coats. Landscaping is also below expected standards - back yard is not graded well, very lumpy/bumpy. Beyond the backyard is a breeding ground for rodents, mosquitoes and other pests because of the high grass and standing water/river. The grounds are not very well kept around our area. They took our deposit and had us select our designs from the design center, and then didn't build it for us. Only after pressing them on why our home wasn't being started yet did they reveal to us they had decided not to build on that lot at all. Very disappointing. No other like lot and floorplan were available either, so we never did get to build the home we'd designed. Extremely disappointing and a true trust-destroying experience.

I worked with Christine and Ericka for sales. They were pretty responsive and helpful. Provides thoughts and suggestions. Then got to work with one of the best construction manager, *****. He was super attentive and knew even a small thing from his memory. He made sure all my concerns were addressed by respective parties. He even provided with suggestions that really matters and helped me save some bucks on useless stuff.

Big or small we were encouraged to point out concerns we had as we saw them come up. Our builder was very responsive with every concern and questions we had during the building process. Almost every issue he was already on top of when we sent him a message. He has still been very supportive with questions we have had arise since closing.

Professional and friendly communication from Sales, Construction, and Lender. We felt informed and valued throughout the entire process and we LOVE our Highland home!
