My experience with Highland Homes is as below. Positive experiences - Good plans. I found Highland Homes plans quite good. I think they have made good use of the overall space and good amount of light in the homes. - The construction material is generally good, with some exceptions as highlighted below in the negative section. - The home was delivered before the promised timeline, which was quite helpful. - The Sales Team was quite good and responsive. They were helpful in making some minor changes here and there, although, everything was through a change order. Negative. - Design Center experience was not up to the mark. The available options for upgrade were limited, especially in the case of wood flooring/Laminate. There were barely 4-5 options for laminate flooring and relatively few wooden flooring options. - Quality of workmanship. In my experience few places the supervision of the work was not adequate. E.g. the tiles in the master bathroom were not in perfect level as a result you can feel the edges and not much can be done about it. Also the sod in the backyard was laid without proper levelling as a result there is lot of uneven surface, which is an expensive proposition for the customer after closing which could have been avoided with little supervision. - Material. My observation on material quality is particularly with framing. I noticed in few places the studs used were not very good or strong. I had a hard time installing TV wall mount as some of the studs were damaged. This could have been avoided with supervision. There was a noticeable difference in the framing as compared to some of the leading builders. - Responsiveness. The response from the project team has not been up to the mark. While it was addressed to some extent, but it went down after the closing again. - Value for the price. The upgrades in general were very expensive, including the listed price, while some promotions were applied but there was little adjustment for the steep price drop right after the closing. Overall, I am happy with my home as it built before the promised timeline and like the plan, but there is a lot of room for improvement in the overall customer experience as highlighted above. ... This was my second build. Highland went above my expectations in craftsmanships, customer service, and production deadlines. Glenn was a fantastic salesman and Jim was a phenomenal project manager. I could not have been happier with the process. I strongly recommend Highland homes to anyone looking for a new home in the area.

I am writing to express my concerns regarding the workmanship on our new home. While we understand that no home is without minor imperfections, my husband and I have encountered several issues that have left us disappointed, given the significant investment we made. During the construction process, we visited the site regularly and noticed some concerning behaviors and quality issues: *We frequently saw beer cans scattered around the site. *There was evidence of smoking inside our home, even though we are non- smokers. We brought several issues to the attention of the construction manager and he promised they would be fixed and till this day their still not fixed. * improperly installed items *paint on the floor, bathroom fixtures, lights crooked (not slightly crooked) *front door installed incorrectly *the list goes on For the amount of money we paid, it feels as though it's a starter home. This is my first time with Highland Homes, and I have been pleased with them from the start. The sales consultant, Anita, has been very helpful and offered good suggestions from start to finish. Additionally, I receive weekly updates about the progress of my home from Devin, who I believe is the construction manager. In my opinion, he has great attention to detail. Overall, my experiences so far have been positive, and I love my new home. If I buy a second home, it will definitely be with Highland Homes again—no doubt!

My overall experience with Highland Homes through-out my purchase process was a "great experience." I had the opportunity to make a few changes that went exceptionally well. All of my changes and choices were completed with the "Highest Degree of Professionalism." I'm extremely HAPPY with my new home choice, although there were several styles to choose from. It's very stressful to buy a home, with a Massive Mix of Emotions and numerous choices. This overwhelming process took over a year to settle on what was-right for me. After making my choice, Troy and David provided understanding, great listening skills, immediate replies to my questions and total professional attitudes which kept my emotions in check. It has been a very disappointing experience. Many issues to fix with the house after moving in. Very poor paint job in some of the rooms, issues with plumbing, the dishwasher wasn't installed properly and leaked on to the floor. The flooring needed replacing after this, but 6 weeks later it still hasn't happened. A light fixture in the kitchen has been broken for 4 months. No replacement in sight. I now dislike my home because of the experience the builder has given me.

Overall experience was great. Patient builder, kept me in the loop the whole time. Great app to walk you through the construction steps. Enjoyed the experience!

This is the best house I’ve seen to date

Working with Highland has been a great experience. They truly care about their customers even after the purchase is complete. We love our new home and highly recommend Highland Homes to anyone looking to purchase a new construction home.

The materials used in the house are acceptable, but there is no good construction team to bring out the best in them. There are too many areas in the house that need improvement, many walls do not look new, and the attitude of the house inspection supervisor is extremely bad!

I recently purchased a new property from Highland Homes, and I must say, the experience has been extremely disappointing. Here's why: 1. Poor Workmanship: The quality of the construction is far below what one would expect for the price. Numerous issues have arisen, from uneven flooring to poorly finished walls and faulty plumbing. It’s evident that the craftsmanship is subpar. 2. Low Quality Materials: The materials used in the construction of the home are of low quality. Doors, windows, and fixtures all feel cheap and have already begun to show signs of wear and tear within a short period of moving in. 3. High Prices: The cost of the home is exorbitant compared to the quality delivered. You are essentially paying a premium price for what amounts to substandard housing. 4. Poor Responsiveness: Trying to get issues addressed by the builder has been a nightmare. Customer service is unresponsive, and when they do respond, the solutions are either inadequate or delayed significantly. 5. Lack of Trustworthiness: Overall, the experience has left me with a deep sense of mistrust towards Highland Homes. The experience was the worst I have ever had in buying a home. Our realtor, Hector and my finance person didn’t get a long, they were pointing fingers at who was at fault, Hector went so far to add me and my wife on the email chain, and the result ended up causing us to miss closing and having to move twice. We emailed Hector’s boss about how unprofessional this was and his boss still to this day has never acknowledged or responded.. No one cared that all the unprofessional behavior cost us, the buyer, thousands of dollars to move and store our items until we could get closed. The VA inspector reached out to Hector for a week, with NO response, then when Hector finally responded and scheduled the inspector the home did NOT have appliances. The house has had several issues, that if anyone really looked they would have been fixed, 2 doors with door handles uneven, one much higher than the other. Underneath cabinets paneling falling off, paint was sloppy, the painters have been back several times. The yard has an open ticket now, our grass is dead, we noted this in walk through. Once the terms were agreed upon, things proceeded relatively smoothly. However, as the closing date approached, our experience took a turn for the worse. The initially agreed-upon numbers suddenly increased significantly, with a considerable hike in the total house value causing a major dispute among all parties involved. Despite the challenges, we persisted, and at the last minute, the numbers came down closer to the original agreement—though not quite the same. The Construction Manager has been excellent, addressing our concerns and providing support when needed. The materials are cheap. Replaced light fixtures in bedroom with ceiling fans and the fixtures were plastic and could not be more than $10. This is throughout the house - I could go on. The warranty department is non responsive. Still waiting for a response and have left serveral messages. The air conditioner is not working properly and will be the 3rd call directly to the company they picked.

We decided to buy another Highland Home because we loved our first Highland Home. The second Highland Home we purchased was a model home. It is very nice but it seems some of the workmanship isn’t as great as our first home. I was also not impressed with Mr Cason’s attitude when doing our walk through. Apparently, the sales person Brad left out that when you buy a model home it sells as is, this was very disappointing since this wasn’t told to us until the day before closing. We still like our home and have been fixing/repairing the few items that Highland said are not covered. Lastly, there was a mural in one of the bedroom walls and Highland accidentally had it painted over due to some miscommunication, this was very disappointing and Mr. Cason didn’t seem to care. I am writing to you as a very concerned homebuyer. We recently built a house in Jordan Ranch with Highland Homes. While we expected the home buying process to be difficult, we have had quite an unpleasant experience with Highland Homes. From the get-go, there has been significant miscommunication and quality control issues. There have been many emails sent to our salesperson, our contractor and our project manager regarding issues, most recently being the unfinished nature of the house even after closing. There were multiple issues that were to be resolved before closing but were not. All of them are in writing, either through text message or email. These examples can be provided if necessary. We were assured at closing that these items would be completed the following week as we had let our salesperson and contractor know that we would be moving in approximately 2 weeks from signing our closing documents. The following week came, and the items were not completed. The next week came, and even after reminding everyone that we would be moving in later that week, the items were still not completed. We have now been here for about 4 weeks and the items have not all been completed, and we are finding more problems around the house - door knobs not being tightened appropriately and falling off, paint splatter, light bulb covers falling from the ceiling are just to name a few. My wife is at the end of her pregnancy and instead of being able to unpack our boxes and get the house ready for the baby, she is babysitting tradesmen and cleaning up after them as they come and go. She stayed home for the whole day on Friday 6/7, 6/14, and 6/21. We have to put a hard stop on anymore major repairs on the house because we need to get the house prepared for the baby. This was discussed with our contractor. On Saturday 6/8, painters were supposed to arrive at 7am and finish their job. I woke up and waited for them. No one showed up, and we were not notified until 9-10am. Things happen but this is the most recent incident of disrespect for our time and frankly this has happened way too much. I then had to stay at home for multiple hours on Sunday 6/9 while the painter came to complete his work. I am extremely tired and frustrated with the poor communication, the lack of professionalism, and lack of attention to detail with our housing project. I do appreciate Chuck coming to our house on Thursday 6/6 to evaluate our concerns. But the fact that everything was not finished on Friday and the painters did not show up the following day are just icing on the cake. Because of the cost of our time, the inability to unpack our things, the lack of professionalism, and poor communication, I would like to be reimbursed by Highland Homes. With everything that has gone on throughout the build and most recently, I think that 2 months’ worth of mortgage payments is fair. I do not believe this is asking too much and am happy to chat about it further. At this time, I cannot recommend Highland Homes as a builder to anyone that inquires. Our house cost us over $725,000, but I do not feel that the craftsmanship, communication, and professionalism was up to the standards that Highland Homes claims to deliver. Our overall all experience is beyond great. Highland Homes as a company and staffs are the best in town. They really go above and beyond on any issue that might arise during any phase of construction or inspection. Their commitment and professionalism are truly unmatched. They always take the time to listen and address all the issues before and after closing. Their word is a bond. Also, we find that Highland Homes come with several standard features that considered upgrades with other builders as well as practical floor plans that have great noise control, energy efficiency, and yet serve every single need of any family from living, cooking, playing, working or studying. From the start of our home purchasing experience we were greeted by Walter, an extremely friendly and professional sales staff who was very knowledgeable and so helpful in the process and seemed to always be looking for ways to improve our experience. During the construction our manager, Dakota, was always positive and so helpful in making our home exactly as we desired. Highland Homes was a builder I had been watching and researching for a few years. I had other top builders in mind but a Highland purchase was at the top of my list. While there are hiccups, my issues are promptly addressed. So far not one regret or negative two months in from closing. My home is beautiful and I am so grateful that God gave me the chance to work with builder. My new build is absolutely gorgeous.

All the personnel I dealt with were very helpful and very knowledgeable and helped every way they could.
