Highland Homes was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. They were always professional and yet personable knowing it was my future home they were constructing. I found the construction managers to honest to the highest degree and were always attuned to my concerns and issues. Regular contact and updates as to the construction status was greatly appreciated, as I was living out of state prior to my move. The quality of construction is exceptional and clearly superior to other builders in this same community. I highly recommend Highland Homes.

We embarked on a journey with Highland Homes as our semi-custom builder for our first home; we had selected them due to all the positive reviews online, and we wanted to see it first-hand for ourselves. The experience didn't disappoint - we had a fantastic sales counselor (Traci) and a phenomenal construction manager (Neil). Traci was open, honest, and easy to work with during the contracting phase, and Highland Homes offered a competitive package (incentives, interest buy down, etc.). We understood what we were getting when we signed the contract. The design selection phase also went smoothly - the designer (Deborah) was super helpful, has a keen eye on style, and was an absolute pleasure to work with. The construction phase was also relatively smooth. The construction manager (Neil) was on top of things and always quickly addressed our concerns. We had a weekly call with the construction manager, and were able to understand where we were on the build process, and what type of challenges were ahead of us. The build went slightly past the scheduled date, but still within our move-in timeframe. Highland Homes was accommodating and made sure the build process met the date that we needed to move-in by. Overall, the quality of construction was pretty good. Of course, you can never control the crafts 100%, so sometimes you'll get the lousy craftsman, but Neil would always address it and get it fixed quickly. Fantastic management by Neil. Lastly, after move-in, we had punch-list items that needed to be completed after closing on the house. They were all relatively minor and have been resolved to our satisfaction. Everyone we spoke with was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the process. There were a few issues that needed to be fixed that were noted before closing. Upon closing and moving in, we noticed a lot of issues. The paint, trim, cabinets, and drywall work was very messy and it has been frustrating working with these vendors to get the work corrected. They are relatively minor issues, but are issues that would be pointed out by the next buyer. It’s an incredibly beautiful home, but we wish there was more attention to detail.

My experience buying, making selections and building my new home has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. I am so pleased with the professionalism of the staff, from the salesperson to the builder… I highly recommend Highland Homes!

We thought we were buying a good quality home from a trustworthy builder, but we were totally off, it's been really painful starting from the permit submission that was not done on time and even worst the person accountable lied about it... We moved almost 8 weeks ago and still have pending thing to be fixed... The house floor plant is so beautiful but quality and how Highlands manages materials is a shame. Worth to highlight the Engineering interest to fix things but unfortunately he has too many things to do. The builder should reformulate it's strategy and try to get things done right first time. ... Working with Hector Duenas during sales negotiations and contract signature was very smooth. He was very helpful, responsive and solution oriented. Dealing with Highland Home Loans was not very pleasant. We had to work with 3 different people for several months. We asked 20% mortgage of the house value and at the last minute, 4 weeks prior to closing, our application was rejected which put us very stressful situation. There is a room to improve the screening & approval process at Highland Home Loans. In our case it should have taken 30 mins to accept or reject our application rather than months for a person with a basic financial knowledge. Our project manager Jonathan Mayfield was excellent. He explained us all civil & mechanical details related to the house, addressed any concerns or minor quality issues timely. He is very professional and supportive. It was a great pleasure working with Jonathan. There are few things to improve on quality & layout in or around the house. Such as AC unit blocks the entrance to the backyard, fireplace does not have installed igniter. ... More

My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Highland homes. The builder went above and beyond from start to finish, and in particular, the construction manager, John was very detail-oriented and professional. The result? A very well constructed home that met all of our expectations and that we look forward to enjoying for years to come!

The house product is great. We love the home and design. My complaint will be that the project managers need to pay attention to detail with the trades coming in doing the work. They are not checking the work and the quality. For the price point, you would expect a greater attention to detail and quality. The overall experience was good just detail and closing presentation needs work. House was not presented in the way I expected at close.

The home I purchased is my dream home. It’s massive and priced right. I’m so grateful for highland homes! True Joy to my family! We had a great experience.

Have to done your own servery because many issues left and after closing last 2 months still come up here and there

It was a pleasure working with Tony and Harrison. They both conducted themselves in a professional manner. They both took the time to listen, answer and/or clarify any question or concern that I had. I like the way they coordinated with my real estate agent Nathan from The Jamie McMartin Group to make the process as smooth as possible. Nathan was also amazing to work with; he too took the time to listen attentively and answer all of my inquiries. I would definitely work with Nathan again and refer him to anyone that is looking to buy or sell a home. He is extremely patient, dedicated and personable. Builder (Jack) was awesome! Attentive, helpful, informative. Couldn’t have asked for a better partner in building our home. Sales and design teams very helpful, responsive and attentive. Unfortunately the quality of materials and trades leaves something to be desired. We’ve had electrical issues since we moved in which still aren’t resolved after multiple attempted repair visits. Issue with doors (warped?, multiple broken hinges). HVAC design issues (bedrooms are cooler by 2-3 deg even after return visit by HVAC installer); curious what the temp differences will be in summer time vs. winter.

GOD completely blessed me with an amazing team in Denise, Lin, Cindy and Jim. These four outstanding professionals went above and beyond in not only guiding me through the craziness of purchasing a home, but they even extended themselves to make sure I had a quality home constructed just for me. I am beyond humbled at their integrity, transparency and support! There are simply no words to ever truly express my gratitude!!!

Craftsmanship is poor. Quality of build is poor. Contractors are sloppy, framing not straight or flush and bowed requiring heavy warranty work. Walls not fully painted even after final walk through. Flooring scratched. Highland homes full of excuses; example two cabinet drawers touch when fully opened and the response provided was “both drawers shouldn’t be open together”. Unacceptable excuses to get the job completed correctly.

I love my home, but the process was very poorly done. I had to get VP involved and once she was involved, things went very smoothly.

Highland was very responsive during the home buying process and quickly resolved any concerns identified on our walkthroughs. We've had a couple months in our house now with no issues and are very content.

Going into our first home purchasing experience, Nick our builder really made us feel welcomed and well informed. He really went over every single detail of the home with us and addressed any concerns we had. Leading up to and after purchasing our home he's been very responsive on any concerns and definitely had everything taken care right away for us. I'd definitely reccomend Nick and Highland to any of my friends and family because of the great experience we had.
