My fourth home build - and my worst. The quality of the workmanship is very poor.

We were sold the idea we were buying a high end or quality build. However, the home has been problem after problem so far and the builder in our opinion cut many corners during the build process . There seems to be little to no focus on build quality or craftsmanship.

Ed, Mac and Stephanie were great. They addressed all of my questions, comments and concerns in a timely manor and made the entire process easy. Thank you!

It was great experience purchasing from Highland Homes. I love my home. Everyone I know that has a Highland home has positive feedback. If there's any issues, I can submit a request online and Keith is on it. He is fast and caring.

This is my second Highland Home and I am very happy with how everything turned out. They were with me every step of the way and continue to respond after closing if there are any issues. My first Highland Home was solid and my second home is just as beautiful. I would highly recommend this builder because they truly stand behind their product.

A LOT of lip service and passing the buck. Contractor blames the builder and visa versa. It’s been two months and still waiting for issues to be resolved. I firmly believe if my original sales person would not have left the WHOLE process would have been different and I would have had a positive experience. Mark leaving was a HUGE disservice to Highland homes. On a positive note, The people in the neighborhood are wonderful and I am sure I will be happier when I hire my own competent people to complete the work correctly and not do a Mickey Mouse job.

Our home buying experience was great. Everyone involved in the process was very responsive, patient, professional, and knowledgeable. We highly recommend Highland Homes. They used quality materials which made our dream home look great. Thank you

Our sales counselor Meghan was very easy to work with and did a great job explaining the various aspects of the home. Chris, the construction manager, was quite knowledgeable and responsive to our questions after closing. We couldn’t be more pleased with our purchase experience.

From Virginia/Bonnie to Andreas and Will, my experience has been wonderful. I love my home it is so beautiful from the plan to the choices the designer made in the home, the backyard—the width and the depth of the backyard. everything is beautiful. Andreas and Will have been responsive and very efficient. I’m thrilled. I couldn’t be happier… Will is the best such a doll. He cares. I’ve never seen such responsiveness and follow-ups. Sales Team was exceptional. From the day I toured the model homes to the day I moved in to my new home, the builder's team members were very attentive to my needs. The quality of the home is well worth the price.

I find Tm and Dalton to be very helpful in the process. Any issues that have come up Dalton has been amazing dealing with it.

The manager was fantastic even after closing he helped me.

I love the floor plan options, the experience with the sales team was simple and straightforward (no pressure). The construction project manager was awesome and very responsive throughout the construction and was very accommodating to my needs. When it comes to the quality of contractors' work, only a few were careful with their quality of work. Most of the contractors (painters, carpenters, dry wall people etc.) very VERY SLOPPY. I just don't understand how they would simply miss the spots that were either damaged during the construction or didn't get textured/or missed paint. I had to point out a lot of things that shouldn't have been there to begin with, and even then had to call back the painters a few times because they still kept missing regardless of the blue tape. While I am happy with overall purchase, very dissatisfied with the quality of work. However, I do appreciate the construction manager because he still takes care of any issues that I point out, and that really makes up for the sloppy work of the contractors. ... More

Our experience with the sales team from the beginning has been excellent. However, our experience with the construction and warranty department didn't align with the Highland Homes reputation at all. We would like to provide more details if contacted by Highland Homes Customer Services team, however, below are some experiences where we felt that we (as buyer) and our time were not valued at all by builder's team: After closing: * Some of the crew members didn't show up during the scheduled window (to complete the items from affidavit) and had to wait for the whole day and follow up with construction managers to get things done. * There are a couple of items from the affidavit for which we are still waiting (despite multiple reminders to the construction manager) even after more than 2 months from closing. * Had to wait for a month and also had to request multiple times in order to get a simple response (about the HVAC system invoices) from the construction manager/local warranty customer care representative. * Even though Highland Homes says that a customer care representative will contact us within two business days from submission of warranty request, so far we have not been contacted at all (and it has been 2 calendar weeks from the day of warranty request submission). Overall, our experience with the construction and warranty team so far DOES NOT encourage us to recommend Highland Homes to any of our friends/family members. We will really appreciate it if someone (who cares to make a difference) from Highland Homes contacts us and addresses our concerns. ... More

My wife and I bought this home as our retirement home. We have had nothing but disappointment since we moved in. Dings and a chip in the bathtub, 3 dents in the garage door. They used the cheapest materials and poorest workmanship I’ve ever seen. Now in our retirement years we need to go through and replace everything. Very disappointed.

Good experience with the builder. He worked with us each and every step in building our new home. Would definitely use them again if to rebuild. Thank you so much Highland homes. Dalton and Tim were Great to work with.

Day 1, sewer backed up and circuit breaker for refrigerator had to be replaced. A few days later no hot water, all flow orifices had to be removed to get sufficient flow for water heaters. This is due to the way the water heaters were installed. Wrong size circuit breaker installed for double oven. White spray paint on exterior of sliding doors and Highland will not address. Breakfast area window needed to be replaced, damaged during installation but no one told anyone. No soft close hinges on cabinet doors (HH saved $200 on that one). Black marks on white door trim from door hardware, told this was normal. I replaced all strike plates and now fixed, HH saved $40 on that. Laundry room cabinets installed so high as to not be useable, I lowered them. No cabinet pulls in Study, Laundry Room or other bathrooms. Water heaters installed as far away from kitchen and Master Bath as could be. Will need hot water recirculation. I am still crawling on the floor with a wet toothbrush getting white paint out of woodgrain. Reset exterior door strikes so door came into contact with weatherstripping. Trim carpenters don't deserve to be called carpenters. Nicks on door trim behind hinges throughout that were not filled, just painted over. Electrolux appliances not worth whatever you paid for them. Patio exterior outlet in a location that makes it unusable. Master Bath makeup vanity wall outlet installed INSIDE a cabinet. Had to shim the rear wheel of refrigerator due to floor being out of level so much. We apparently expected too much. ... More

My husband and I built a new home from scratch and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The sales and construction team took the time and care to answer any questions in a timely manner. Best customer service. We are so happy and proud to have a Highland Home!!
