Our experience with the sales team from the beginning has been excellent. However, our experience with the construction and warranty department didn't align with the Highland Homes reputation at all. We would like to provide more details if contacted by Highland Homes Customer Services team, however, below are some experiences where we felt that we (as buyer) and our time were not valued at all by builder's team: After closing: * Some of the crew members didn't show up during the scheduled window (to complete the items from affidavit) and had to wait for the whole day and follow up with construction managers to get things done. * There are a couple of items from the affidavit for which we are still waiting (despite multiple reminders to the construction manager) even after more than 2 months from closing. * Had to wait for a month and also had to request multiple times in order to get a simple response (about the HVAC system invoices) from the construction manager/local warranty customer care representative. * Even though Highland Homes says that a customer care representative will contact us within two business days from submission of warranty request, so far we have not been contacted at all (and it has been 2 calendar weeks from the day of warranty request submission). Overall, our experience with the construction and warranty team so far DOES NOT encourage us to recommend Highland Homes to any of our friends/family members. My wife and I bought this home as our retirement home. We have had nothing but disappointment since we moved in. Dings and a chip in the bathtub, 3 dents in the garage door. They used the cheapest materials and poorest workmanship I’ve ever seen. Now in our retirement years we need to go through and replace everything. Very disappointed.

Good experience with the builder. He worked with us each and every step in building our new home. Would definitely use them again if to rebuild. Thank you so much Highland homes. Dalton and Tim were Great to work with.

Day 1, sewer backed up and circuit breaker for refrigerator had to be replaced. A few days later no hot water, all flow orifices had to be removed to get sufficient flow for water heaters. This is due to the way the water heaters were installed. Wrong size circuit breaker installed for double oven. White spray paint on exterior of sliding doors and Highland will not address. Breakfast area window needed to be replaced, damaged during installation but no one told anyone. No soft close hinges on cabinet doors (HH saved $200 on that one). Black marks on white door trim from door hardware, told this was normal. I replaced all strike plates and now fixed, HH saved $40 on that. Laundry room cabinets installed so high as to not be useable, I lowered them. No cabinet pulls in Study, Laundry Room or other bathrooms. Water heaters installed as far away from kitchen and Master Bath as could be. Will need hot water recirculation. I am still crawling on the floor with a wet toothbrush getting white paint out of woodgrain. Reset exterior door strikes so door came into contact with weatherstripping. Trim carpenters don't deserve to be called carpenters. Nicks on door trim behind hinges throughout that were not filled, just painted over. Electrolux appliances not worth whatever you paid for them. Patio exterior outlet in a location that makes it unusable. Master Bath makeup vanity wall outlet installed INSIDE a cabinet. Had to shim the rear wheel of refrigerator due to floor being out of level so much. We apparently expected too much. ... More

My husband and I built a new home from scratch and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The sales and construction team took the time and care to answer any questions in a timely manner. Best customer service. We are so happy and proud to have a Highland Home!!

Great experience and quick response to issues

Buying a new home can be stressful. Highland Homes did a great job of addressing issues promptly. I would recommend to family and friends.

Love my new home and it looks great. Took two months after moving in to complete quality / warranty problems. Problems included things like exterior doors alignment, appliances tripping circuit breakers, exterior mortar and caulk voids, lighting fixtures (broken, alignment or missing), some of the standard interior fixtures are cheap, window screens damaged. Sales people implied some model home features were standard features.

Highland Home house finishing was the main reason for us to choose Highland. Also, the commitment and sympathy of Traci and the Highland team was fantastic.

My experience with Highland Homes goes back to the 80’s as a child, when my parents purchased two Highland Homes in the Dallas area. So, when it came time to purchase a Highland Home for my own family, the decision and trust in the brand was easy, already proven, and well established. I will say that my own experience on the construction side wasn’t flawless, but when it came time to make things right and address found issues, responses and actions taken were swift . Highland Homes, like many truly customer-centric corporations, continues to solidify that their customers (and their name/brand) is important in their continued success. Unfortunately, the barn door has been mistakenly built (not per dwgs), and it's been 2 months without a resolution to this mistake.

Closed on home with laundry list of items to be completed 60 plus days in home and still not completed nor a timeline to be completed.

From the beginning Highland was very transparent with the home buying process. Our sales associate and project manager were very thorough, knowledgeable and trustworthy. We understand that no home is perfect but the responsiveness to our issues was quick and comprehensive. We love our new home and very excited for this next chapter in our lives. We’re very happy we chose Highland Homes as our home builder.

We had our walk through on 2 separate occasions and none of the items they were supposed to fix were complete. We lived in the house for a week before they replaced the broken dishwasher that we pointed out to them a month prior to close. We still have patchy paint on the walls and poor texture. My husband had to go all the way up the corporate chain to get any acknowledgement from the project manager.

Our experience with buying a Highland Home was great. Walter, Danny and the sales staff did a very good job explaining the process and showing us the home. The builder, Dakota, was great and continues to assist us with questions! A piece of advice - spend 2 trips at the design center and take your time. Be very specific about what you want and make no assumptions.

We are blessed to have made this purchase with highland . Quality was excellent.

Buying experience excellent but too many amenities were upgrades. Superintendent not as attentive once you’ve gone to closing. No real follow through.

I feel that the Highland promise did not live up to expectations. Cost was high, processed was rushed, too many errors and quality concerns. As one of the first to move in to this new development, extra consideration should have been taken to protect and assure a great experience. The people are very good people, but the overall corporate objective leaves a lot to be desired.

Frustrating process with the building of our house.The lack of supervision during the construction stage generated unnecessary repairs and too many follow up actions after the closing.

Everyone involved with our Highland experience were absolutely great, from the sales person, Denise, to our realtors, to the design center, to the lender, and to the construction liaison, Nick. Building a new home can bring some heavy anxiety, however Highland definitely knows how to calm the stormy waters, and made it fairly exciting during the process. Thanks to everyone who helped us achieve this dream!

Highland Homes are the best. They have beautiful floors plan.

Everyone we interacted and worked with at Highland were great. The Bridgeland sales, admin and construction folks were very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. I highly recommend Highland as a conscience and professional organization.
