My timing was not ideal with being between three holidays Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Regardless the responsiveness and the handling of all the issues from the construction manager was outstanding. Many thanks to him for making unpleasant situation bearable.

we believe we made the right decision in choosing highland homes. The best thing is that they fixed, corrected all the items which were reported in inspection before the closing. Their work wise we don't have any problems, it might be too early to give a review bcos it takes more time for us to see if we have any concerns about the purchase. But we would definitely recommend other to highland homes.

Workmanship and the quality of contruction not up to par. Small details out of places; such as, broken tiles, outlets not align, scratches doors, hard to open doors, yard work not ballance etc...

I do love the Dorset townhome but there were some issues like shower and toilet backing up because a test ball was left in the plumbing. Roof leaking after a couple of days of rain. These were the worst problems. All others were minor. When I purchased my last home I received a manual with detailed information on my home. Take note Highland.

Our experience with buying a Highland Home was great. Walter, Danny and the sales staff did a very good job explaining the process and showing us the home. The builder, Dakota, was great and continues to assist us with questions! A piece of advice - spend 2 trips at the design center and take your time. Be very specific about what you want and make no assumptions.

Materials used are great. People working at HIGHLAND are very respectful and responsive. Quality of workmanship is below average. Not sure if this is related to Pandemic labor shortage. Overall a good experience buying and closing, except workmanship is not upto the mark.

For a new build it would have been nice if it was cleaned up more prior to moving in. Decent responsiveness from the builder towards issues although it took some repeated requests and convincing for a few things.

Highland Homes have a better built quality compared to other companies.

I bought an inventory home that was custom built for someone else. It had been ready for sometime so I thought everything would be check and ready for move in. I’ve had a few service calls and a lot of Sheetrock break around the bullnose corners. This isn’t my first time buying a new home but it is my first time having build issues. Also numerous door knobs and ripped off form improper installation, doors barely on hinges. Not what I thought a Neary 800k home would be.

My AC does not go below 72 degrees, The paint on the wall is bad quality and they only did 1 coat, it comes off if you bump your elbow on the wall Garage door is way too loud The skybell doorbell is a bad quality product

Disappointed in the quality downgrading from previous Highland Homes experience in Dallas. Trim work and interior paint is not up to standard and materials chosen by the builder for flooring, windows, etc. are the lowest possible quality.

The home that we purchased with Highland was beautiful, and working with Glenn was a great experience. However, since buying the home we have had some issues. We have had to push our Project Manager at times to finish our punch list, however, he has always been attentive and there to help. The biggest issue that we have had is with our HVAC. It has stopped working multiple times since we bough the house. Even last night it would not cool down the house even though it was 65° outside.

What I would like other buyers to know is that a 3 car garage is a 3 CAR garage not a 3 truck garage, actually you can’t fit 2 trucks. So if possible ask for a longer garage like 2 feet longer. Also is very nice that must of the special needs that you may require, Highland is willing to do the changes to meet your needs. Regarding quality is a very good house.

the previous builder was not a good for taking care of problem. always give some excuse .Now I HAVE A NEW BUILDER his name Jim . He is very good .I give him 5 stars . I was so unhappy when I closed my home. It was unfinished and messy work. NOW Jim taking care of it.Thanks

The house finishes are not 100%

The people that you work with are great and very responsive.

For a house of that value, one would expect to see higher quality fittings eg light, tiles and wooden cabinets. In addition a better utilization of the space especially to increase the size of the rooms. Carpets are no longer necessary in bedrooms due to allergy issues so could have been tiles or wood for the floors.

Get the House you want in the area you want

On trim work inside and out side had areas of paint run off. Sloppy paint work.

We really liked HH (HighlandHomes) interior design and exterior design, which led us purchase the new-construction home. Sales experience was smooth and initial interaction (prior closing) with builder was nice as well. After moving into home, we opened more than expected warranty issues in first 2 months. We feel that HH is very strong in sales, interior/exterior design, overall home building standards, however we found that workers (i.e. contracting agencies doing actual work for HH) are rushing up and producing just okay. Electric/Lighting warranty issues are repeating several times. We hope that HH enforces contracting agencies to take ownership of faulty work and produce better quality home to customers. For only these reasons, I am reducing my rating for quality of workmanship & materials from 4 to 2, and Value for the price paid from 4 to 3. Builders are very responsive to warranty issues, we are still new to the home so we are hoping that warranty issues are resolved at customer's satisfaction. For new-construction home buyers, we would *highly* recommend buying Highland Homes over other builders for the value for the price paid. Everyone we spoke with was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the process. There were a few issues that needed to be fixed that were noted before closing. Upon closing and moving in, we noticed a lot of issues. The paint, trim, cabinets, and drywall work was very messy and it has been frustrating working with these vendors to get the work corrected. They are relatively minor issues, but are issues that would be pointed out by the next buyer. It’s an incredibly beautiful home, but we wish there was more attention to detail.

Love my new home and it looks great. Took two months after moving in to complete quality / warranty problems. Problems included things like exterior doors alignment, appliances tripping circuit breakers, exterior mortar and caulk voids, lighting fixtures (broken, alignment or missing), some of the standard interior fixtures are cheap, window screens damaged. Sales people implied some model home features were standard features.

Highland homes builds a nice home . But with that being said I have had some very frustrating things happening for 2 months now . Electrical problems. Still are ongoing .

We have had numerous issues with the warranty work being completed, in addition to issues that have had contractors sent out needing multiple repeat visits (4-5). Eve after those repeat visits fixes still haven't been made. We have contractors showing up at out house at all random hours without notification which seems odd that they would just show up without being scheduled. However, the builder says "I didn't schedule them". The additional "supervisors" he sends to supervise the contractors don't even actually supervise or observe. There has been a huge disconnect in follow up and communication. I am very disappointed and had hoped this experience would prove better. We still continue to have constantly put in for work to be done on at least a weekly basis. Seems to me it's also a waste of money highlands part to not just get the job done right the first or second time. ... More

The house and detailing was as shown and committed. Quality of materials is good but could that little better for the prices paid. Overall a good experience in home buying
