I'll start with my wife was involved in the Sales portion of the house buying experience. That not surprisingly went off without a hitch. The financing portion of the sale was also amazing. Now is where everything starts to fall apart a bit. My wife put in our first warranty issue, and we still don't have a functioning video doorbell. We had a tech come out and get the garage door functional but not the camera after the first doorbell was replaced due to a humming sound. All other issues were fixed on her first ticket. Now is where I come into the fold. I started looking at various things around the house and was starting to find a lot of issues especially with the drywall. The other issues were cracked tile, paint, grout in the bathroom showers, carpet, and some other issues. The initial part of the process was handled within the time frame promised. The paint contractor and his wife came out multiple times to fix several issues throughout the house. The issue they are having to fix over and over are the cracks in the corners of just every room. He also fixed some other minor dry wall issues here and there. The grout issue took a week or more to get that person out. The plumber who came out was on top of his issues really quick and resolved them quickly. The real issue was taking 3 weeks to get a guy out to repair some cracked tile. He pulled the toilet and set it in the tub. Fixed the three cracked tiles originally reported one being under the toilet. Issue there were two more cracked tiles under the toilet that the plumber pointed out when he came to put the toilet back in. Another week or two goes by and they finally get back out to fix the other two tiles. I went out of town on vacation and the tub where the toilet was left is now damaged and will need to put in another ticket on that. The tubs were also left with grout all over them without exception. With the exception of the cabinet company, the low voltage company and the carpet company people have showed up unannounced to do a repair, not a huge issue for me as I am unemployed currently, but I would guess this would be a huge issue for people who are working outside the home. I was also consistently no showed when I was told somebody would be here to fix the issues. I feel a lot of my issues could have been resolved upfront with a better-quality control up front. Was a good experience.. Maybe to be more clear on the process for those that do not have experience (it is our first house)

From initial contact to post-closing issue resolution, Highland has been great to work with. Would definitely recommend them. One suggestion: for the study/office, having a pre-wired (or more) Cat5 drop would be ideal. For those that work from home, hard-wiring the computer to internet connections is infinitely better.

By purchasing the model home. We did find some odds and ends that was damage which we understood because the house was a model home. But the garage was new and broke in a couple weeks. I can say Highland did not Wasted no time making sure the contractor took care of it ASAP. Other then that we love our home.

We were very happy with our homebuilding experience. In an era of shortages and delays, everything was on time and on budget. Our contact at Highland Homes was very knowledgeable and they were willing to work with us on some floorplan customizations that really made the home ours. We are enjoying getting settled!

Worst experience buying a new home. Through out the process Still trying to get things fixed Do not listen and do not care Just check the box

Still waiting(3months after closing)on my driveway and sidewalks to be properly powewashed. It still has red dirt stains on brandnew sidewalk and brandnew community. Other craftsmanship issues on interior of my home is becoming apparent. Other builders in same community have done much better job with powerwashing after completion of construction. Please address this issue as soon as possible. Highland home directly across street has same issue.

We had a great experience with Highland Homes. We had a tight moving window, and our house was finished and ready to move in right when we needed it to be. Thanks to all the Highland Team for making it happen!

There are a number of areas where the quality of service needs improvement. However, the biggest issue i had was, there was a mouse in my home who seems to be living before us. Apart from that, for most of the issues discussed, I am still waiting for them to get fixed. Builder contact Scott is nice when we meet, but the speed at which the rest of the work gets done is quite bad. I wish some of these shouldn't need so much of follow up. Hope this review will remind about the various open requests: 1. Cabinet repairs 2. Fix the floor time 3. Final coat of paint

For a new build it would have been nice if it was cleaned up more prior to moving in. Decent responsiveness from the builder towards issues although it took some repeated requests and convincing for a few things.

Quality of workmanship and carpentry, extremely disappointing. Grass that was laid is lumpy and treacherous to walk on as it was not leveled or rolled. Paint drops on the floor, unpainted areas of home and short doors into bedrooms. We would be hesitant to purchase another Highland home.

If you value great customer service and having your questions and concerns addressed in a timely manner, then you will want to purchase a Highland Home. Christy, Evan, and Cheryl were always on the same page. This is the 5th new build I have bought. Highland is by far the best builder I have done business with.

Prior to buying the house we had extensively communicated that it was very important to my wife that the two oven system in the kitchen be changed to one oven system so that the microwave could be lowered and be of use to her. We were promised support in this regard but unfortunately that promise was not in the contract. The undeniable fact is that after spending near $700K and 50 days post closing I have an unhappy wife with the promised support for modification not done. I will never ever recommend Highland Homes to my contacts.

Due to the excessive time wasting that we have experienced during this process I am not inclined to be as detailed but I write this in hope that these issues will be addressed and taken care of expeditiously. I plan to reach out to those in leadership positions to resolve all of my concerns without escalation to litigation. We are extremely disappointed with the warranty processes and have experienced so many inconveniences and POOR quality of work. The contractors have verbally shared that they are NOT doing their best work because HIGHLAND has not compensated them fairly; this is unprofessional and unacceptable and WE should not have to suffer due to their discontentment . ... I love my home. The design was well thought out.

Cason has been amazing and is really the heart of the entire process - extremely responsive and professional. Matt was also fantastic to work early on when buying the property - always helpful with all of our questions along the way.

I love my highland home! The service was exceptional.

My experience was smooth from start to finish. No surprised. PM continued to guide me through some changes I wanted after closing by referring persons to do the work and helping me with pricing. He went the extra 5 miles!!

Lots of cosmetic issues. Poor quality sod. Electrical issues & the list goes on.

Overall, I'd give the experience 4 stars out of 5. Highland makes nice homes with good layouts that make you feel like you are in a bigger home, and don't pack the house with space you can't use. The houses have a lot of light and you can tell they are on a different level with quality. We were actually referred to Highland by some friends who lived in one in a different part of the state and loved it. The biggest disappointment was that when we moved in, there were several things on the house that weren't completed and should have been either verified or checked before we got there. We had to submit 7 warranty tickets within the first week of living in the home, for various issues ranging from the thermostat not going below 72 (due to a contractor lock on the thermostat), to the oven not being plugged in - general things which should have been addressed before we moved in. What I will say is that once we brought these things up/submitted warranty tickets, our Construction Manager helped out with getting repairs moving and everything was resolved in a very intrepid manner, and we haven't had any further issues out of the items we listed needing to be addressed. The people you work with are great and they are responsive to the warranty items, the only reason I can't give a perfect rating is because quite frankly the house wasn't ready when we moved in. From start to finish the Highland Homes team did a great job. Communication and responsiveness were always clear and honest. There were a couple of supply chain delays, but these were always clarified, and we were never kept waiting for a response.
