Will recommend Highland to friends….. excellent!

There were some miscommunications and moments of friction during the process, but in the end, Highland did come through and delivered a good-quality home. To future buyers: do not wait until the final walk through to start identifying issues - start early, while the home is still under construction. Be proactive, visit the site often, and keep detailed notes. This will help you and Highland work together toward delivering a more complete and accurate final product. Some details fell through the cracks at the design center -for example, the tile behind the mirrors in the master bath, which was not included in the final build (we assumed it would be, since it was shown in the model). Do not assume something is included, verify. That said, we had to reference our paperwork multiple times and advocate for items that were supposed to be included. There appears to be a disconnect between Highland corporate, the sales/design team, and the contractors doing the actual construction. On more than one occasion, we had to point out selections that the builders had not been informed of. That said, once issues were raised, Highland was generally responsive and worked with us to make things right. Aside from these challenges, the overall experience and final outcome were positive. Several construction items (Awning not properly installed above front entrance.) that required numerous contacts / conversations to have resolved.

Only in my Home for 2 months. Overall no issues as of today. Pretty Good Service

The quality of materials are getting worse year by year, but prices are getting higher. Old houses was better. At least Hıghland still quick responder for issues.

My experience with Highland Homes is as below. Positive experiences - Good plans. I found Highland Homes plans quite good. I think they have made good use of the overall space and good amount of light in the homes. - The construction material is generally good, with some exceptions as highlighted below in the negative section. - The home was delivered before the promised timeline, which was quite helpful. - The Sales Team was quite good and responsive. They were helpful in making some minor changes here and there, although, everything was through a change order. Negative. - Design Center experience was not up to the mark. The available options for upgrade were limited, especially in the case of wood flooring/Laminate. There were barely 4-5 options for laminate flooring and relatively few wooden flooring options. - Quality of workmanship. In my experience few places the supervision of the work was not adequate. E.g. the tiles in the master bathroom were not in perfect level as a result you can feel the edges and not much can be done about it. Also the sod in the backyard was laid without proper levelling as a result there is lot of uneven surface, which is an expensive proposition for the customer after closing which could have been avoided with little supervision. - Material. My observation on material quality is particularly with framing. I noticed in few places the studs used were not very good or strong. I had a hard time installing TV wall mount as some of the studs were damaged. This could have been avoided with supervision. There was a noticeable difference in the framing as compared to some of the leading builders. - Responsiveness. The response from the project team has not been up to the mark. While it was addressed to some extent, but it went down after the closing again. - Value for the price. The upgrades in general were very expensive, including the listed price, while some promotions were applied but there was little adjustment for the steep price drop right after the closing. Overall, I am happy with my home as it built before the promised timeline and like the plan, but there is a lot of room for improvement in the overall customer experience as highlighted above. ... Working with Highland has been a great experience. They truly care about their customers even after the purchase is complete. We love our new home and highly recommend Highland Homes to anyone looking to purchase a new construction home.

We loved that highland had more options to customize our home compared to other builders.

I love the floor plan options, the experience with the sales team was simple and straightforward (no pressure). The construction project manager was awesome and very responsive throughout the construction and was very accommodating to my needs. When it comes to the quality of contractors' work, only a few were careful with their quality of work. Most of the contractors (painters, carpenters, dry wall people etc.) very VERY SLOPPY. I just don't understand how they would simply miss the spots that were either damaged during the construction or didn't get textured/or missed paint. I had to point out a lot of things that shouldn't have been there to begin with, and even then had to call back the painters a few times because they still kept missing regardless of the blue tape. While I am happy with overall purchase, very dissatisfied with the quality of work. However, I do appreciate the construction manager because he still takes care of any issues that I point out, and that really makes up for the sloppy work of the contractors. ... More

Great experience and quick response to issues

Buying a new home can be stressful. Highland Homes did a great job of addressing issues promptly. I would recommend to family and friends.

We are reasonably pleased. The 7 day in advance of close walk through to point out imperfections and then nothing after close is totally unreasonable

A lot of issues after the fact

The overall experience was pretty good. The builder was very quick at responding to questions. The painters could be more careful. The people who install the quarter round at the base of a kitchen island were not very precise in cutting it to the right length and as a result there were gaps between the sections. Also the flooring people cut a piece of the flooring too short so now there is a place where there is a gap of space between the flooring and the island in the kitchen.

As a home buying experience Highland was able to answer any questions, great neighborhood and amenities. Some work was an issue in the beginning, but was quickly fixed! Overall, very satisfied with our home.

Overall great design and high quality but there have been a few issues that have come up. Most have been resolved in a professional and timely manner or hopefully will be soon. One outstanding item that we discovered was an issue with the property line and placement of the retaining wall and fence. Unfortunately, Highland was made aware of the issue but never brought it to our attention. We actually discovered the issue while hiring a pool company and a company to install and whole house generator. I brought this up with Highland management three weeks ago and am still waiting for resolution or a plan for resolution. With how tight the lots are it is a material issue for us, but we are hopeful that Highland will resolve the issue soon so we can continue to get the work done and enjoy our beautiful new home. I can't stress enough the great design and overall quality of the home which is what made us buy it. Good experience. Project manager was great. He was and still remains very responsive to any inquiries. I have enjoyed my purchase, other than one event, which was not the fault of the builders.

Excellent experience, would definitely recommend it to others

The 40 ft lot is just too small. The house needs just a few feet more width for the rooms to not be awkward sized. The garages are very small. There are a lot of nice features as well. Builders is very responsive to warranty requests.

My experience with my new home is good and could be better if the list of pending items are not so high! When I bought the house, the seller mentioned the inspection process and every item that was not in accordance with my expectation would be fixed. I walked through the house, and we found lots of items that needed to be fixed and unfortunately lots of the items were not solved and even after 1 month, we still have items to be fixed. My second point is related to house cleaning. The carpets, garage and attic were very dirty with dust, and material left behind by the crew. My expectation is that I will receive the house cleaned. One of my frustrations is regarding the sprinklers, because when I bought it, it was mentioned that I could manage the sprinklers through the app on my phone, however it was not mentioned that I need to buy the network card. It was set an expectation and when I wanted to see working, it was communicated that I needed to buy a card to see working, so the expectation that was set created a feeling of frustration and disappointment. My last comment is related to the good Job that Andres is doing to fix all pending items that I have to work on my house. My only suggestion is Hinghlands implement an inspection process with superior quality because some of the rework can be minimized and overall client satisfaction will be better. ... More

The look and build of house looks great, but the fixes that need to be adressed are still been worked on from last 2 months

We were very lucky to have one of the very best sales counselor, kudos to Kim. The building experience was somewhat disappointing mainly for two reasons: 1. we feel the builder had some sense of urgency to close 2. which promoted a lack of supervision in the quality of the finishes. Nevertheless, their response to warranty claims (many of which could easily be avoided with good supervision before closing), has been outstanding.
