Tim does a great job

I am disappointed with the craftsmanship. I wouldn’t buy from Highland again.

We got an excellent price on our home, and the materials are what we would expect. However, the workmanship was below standard. We submitted a list of warrantly issues and none of them have been addressed.

Low grade craftsmenship especially to the exterior fof the house. Brick and motar poorly done.

Experience started out great with a lot of support, but ended up falling short at the end. When I moved in my breaker to washer and dryer was broken, My AC wiring was not connected, and my heat was not turned on. With a new baby this was difficult and felt these things should have been caught.

Very disappointed with the quality of the house.

We were sold the idea we were buying a high end or quality build. However, the home has been problem after problem so far and the builder in our opinion cut many corners during the build process . There seems to be little to no focus on build quality or craftsmanship.

I love the location and do like my home but there were a lot of things left undone after close that took 3 months to correct. Prompt communication is not their forte. I am hoping a year or two from now I can look back and say I got a good quality home. It’s too early to tell.

Landscape is very poor( yard is a pond) overpriced house before closing 562K after 1 month after closing the real price is 524k how was that? After closing the construction manager will no longer be contacted for help.

They left me incomplete things at home and it's been going on for 3 months and they don't solve me.

There is a lot of issues with the cosmetic lights already broke down the outside lamp the light bulb never has work the garage doesn’t have a motor I found out in the final walk the paint work on trim no good on the laundry room the box for the wiring cámaras doesn’t latch I have a tape tape out to the wall No paint kit all the trim around the house it’s started to crack don’t understand why since they are using water base paint but I know they gonna blame the foundation settlement the reason is they are caulking and not giving enough time for the caulk to dry and many more stuff

The process was long (it took 10 months to build our house), but I feel that was mostly supply chain delays. I didn’t enjoy the design/upgrade selection process as there seemed to be little knowledge about what things would cost, and the upgrade options were selected over a couple month period, so it was difficult to know what our options were or whether what we selected first would still be in our budget when we were offered other selections later. We had some delays in the process and despite our best efforts, we struggled to get regular updates. We asked for a weekly progress update, but instead, we only got an update when we asked. It was eventually determined that the poor communication came from our project manager/super and we asked to have him replaced. We were very happy with the process and communication after that, and it led to a much smoother process. The fact the builder was so willing to change the super for me showed me they cared enough to ensure we had a positive experience. For that, I’m grateful and appreciative. ... More

Took a long time to start. Multiple delays.

Builder (Jack) was awesome! Attentive, helpful, informative. Couldn’t have asked for a better partner in building our home. Sales and design teams very helpful, responsive and attentive. Unfortunately the quality of materials and trades leaves something to be desired. We’ve had electrical issues since we moved in which still aren’t resolved after multiple attempted repair visits. Issue with doors (warped?, multiple broken hinges). HVAC design issues (bedrooms are cooler by 2-3 deg even after return visit by HVAC installer); curious what the temp differences will be in summer time vs. winter.

The care and quality exhibited by the subcontractors was very disappointing. The PM for the builder did a good job getting things corrected. The cleanliness of the home at move in was not as expected.

Very disappointed in the fixtures, tile, flooring etc options at the decorating center. Very disappointed in cabinetry as well. Did not feel like this was not worth the money paid for the home. Sales was good and follow up with issues have been excellent.

Helpful in the beginning. However, once we paid off for our unit the response got somehow slower. A lot slower i might add. Depends on your personal standards. I , personally wish they would focus more on detail. Life is made out of small things anyway and for or the $ they asked for our house we expected more serious professional kind of service. We paid for our unit 100% in full. Thank G.. we didn't have major issues like AC, Roof, Water, Foundation, or a anything of the kind. Generally speaking, my impression was a"spotty" kind of service,if there is such a category. A lots of room for improvement in the communication, job quality, responsiveness, and finishing department. Too bad but that's the truth. You hear a lots of " yes, no problem " but the reality is 87.5 % of the time you don't get the service you expect for the $ you paid in the beginning. But they are nice guys. I was a first time home buyer. For the most part things went smoothly. I feel the sales department was pushy at the beginning. They also didn’t communicate very well through the entire process, there was little to no reach out by them. The home was done but many things had to be touched up after we moved in.

It took 8 months to build and I went through multiple construction managers. There wasn’t transparency during the process and my closing date changed due to delays. Communication was not the best and the sales agent was helpful at the beginning but after the sales contract was signed, she was no longer useful or informative about what was going on. Overall, the design process was the best part of purchasing my home.

Love our home but there are few issues I would loved to have addressed. After moving in we found a couple of minor flaws that I wish we could have fixed. For example, our driveway and pathway to our front door is not great. There are small imprints that are visible in the concrete. In our hallway, we have two light switches that control the same light. One of the switches should control the kitchen light. I was not aware of this issue at the time of our walkthrough. I was also not aware that I could have asked to have the driveway repaired prior to moving in. These are basically the only two issues I have with our home. Make sure one ask questions about how do you (owner) make decisions on what customers want when it comes to master bath having a towel and linen rack when second bath has one, providing more room for master toilet, internet service, cable or direct TV. Making decision as to being upfront on informing us customers on all things important to us. Showing customer prices of incentives and allowing customers to be able to order all necessary. Walls are too thin no privacy. Providing pest control so they don't move in to ants, spiders because it seems as though you don't care. Be more concerned in customers to get higher ratings. The purchasing process and initial negotiations were fantastic. As newcomers to the US, we received substantial support and guidance on how to navigate the home-buying process, which differs significantly from what we’re accustomed to in our home country. Once the terms were agreed upon, things proceeded relatively smoothly. However, as the closing date approached, our experience took a turn for the worse. The initially agreed-upon numbers suddenly increased significantly, with a considerable hike in the total house value causing a major dispute among all parties involved. Despite the challenges, we persisted, and at the last minute, the numbers came down closer to the original agreement—though not quite the same. The Construction Manager has been excellent, addressing our concerns and providing support when needed. Overall, Highland Homes is a reputable company with an impressive sales process and diligent construction follow-up, albeit with some room for improvement in materials and a less-than-ideal lender company. ... Some cracks on the wall and protrusions that occurred throughout the building after a month residing the home. Indicates issue with structure. Wall holding garage door frame on the side cracked. Sloppy paint in areas where there is visible sheen/general unevenness. Even with fixing minor issues and given a period a to review them and have builder go over them it was impossible to catch everything before signing. It's annoying some of the media/home consoles like doorbell and thermometer are service locked and was a pain to configure and gain access to and wifi extender.
