Workmanship and the quality of contruction not up to par. Small details out of places; such as, broken tiles, outlets not align, scratches doors, hard to open doors, yard work not ballance etc...

to many things were undocumented about the community for us being one of the early buyers that became concerning (power poles, location of mail boxes, timing for amenities) . the amount of time allowed in the design center was not enough if you want to review materials outside the "free" selections. the construction process is very wasteful and reactive - fixing things at the end versus at the time of the installment to avoid noticeable patch work. The sales team support and closing process was great and easy. the construction checkpoints and walkthroughs were very helpful. we had a few ...

Overall, I’m happy with certain aspects of my new home, particularly the great location and the beautiful natural lighting throughout the space. The second floor has a well-thought-out layout and feels very comfortable and functional. However, there are areas that could have been better. The first floor feels too crowded, with limited space in the family and dining areas. The design leaves little flexibility for arranging furniture, which I found disappointing. I also experienced some frustration during the buying process. The sales representative was not very friendly and, when a ...

Highland Model Home

We decided to buy another Highland Home because we loved our first Highland Home. The second Highland Home we purchased was a model home. It is very nice but it seems some of the workmanship isn’t as great as our first home. I was also not impressed with Mr Cason’s attitude when doing our walk through. Apparently, the sales person Brad left out that when you buy a model home it sells as is, this was very disappointing since this wasn’t told to us until the day before closing. We still like our home and have been fixing/repairing the few items that Highland said are not covered. Lastly, there ...

Beautiful but not really quality

Everyone we spoke with was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the process. There were a few issues that needed to be fixed that were noted before closing. Upon closing and moving in, we noticed a lot of issues. The paint, trim, cabinets, and drywall work was very messy and it has been frustrating working with these vendors to get the work corrected. They are relatively minor issues, but are issues that would be pointed out by the next buyer. It’s an incredibly beautiful home, but we wish there was more attention to detail.

Need to pay more attention to detail

The house product is great. We love the home and design. My complaint will be that the project managers need to pay attention to detail with the trades coming in doing the work. They are not checking the work and the quality. For the price point, you would expect a greater attention to detail and quality. The overall experience was good just detail and closing presentation needs work. House was not presented in the way I expected at close.

I do love the Dorset townhome but there were some issues like shower and toilet backing up because a test ball was left in the plumbing. Roof leaking after a couple of days of rain. These were the worst problems. All others were minor. When I purchased my last home I received a manual with detailed information on my home. Take note Highland.

Love my new home and it looks great. Took two months after moving in to complete quality / warranty problems. Problems included things like exterior doors alignment, appliances tripping circuit breakers, exterior mortar and caulk voids, lighting fixtures (broken, alignment or missing), some of the standard interior fixtures are cheap, window screens damaged. Sales people implied some model home features were standard features.

Great Experience At Highland Homes

Our experience with buying a Highland Home was great. Walter, Danny and the sales staff did a very good job explaining the process and showing us the home. The builder, Dakota, was great and continues to assist us with questions! A piece of advice - spend 2 trips at the design center and take your time. Be very specific about what you want and make no assumptions.

I think the fit and finish in the home is sub par. Some stuff seems to be put together very careless. In all honestly I would consider another home builder when I buy another home in the next month or 2.

We have had numerous issues with the warranty work being completed, in addition to issues that have had contractors sent out needing multiple repeat visits (4-5). Eve after those repeat visits fixes still haven't been made. We have contractors showing up at out house at all random hours without notification which seems odd that they would just show up without being scheduled. However, the builder says "I didn't schedule them". The additional "supervisors" he sends to supervise the contractors don't even actually supervise or observe. There has been a huge disconnect in follow up and ...

Materials used are great. People working at HIGHLAND are very respectful and responsive. Quality of workmanship is below average. Not sure if this is related to Pandemic labor shortage. Overall a good experience buying and closing, except workmanship is not upto the mark.

I was told by that guy this is not the first home I’ve purchased, things are not going to be perfect, and I will have to learn to do some things for myself, in shock I replied, the 1st home was a short sale sold as is with expected issues, I was not expecting issues with a new house built from the ground up, I also shared with the realtor that I think all the blue tape I put up for repairs or touch ups was all pulled off with bare minimum being done

For a new build it would have been nice if it was cleaned up more prior to moving in. Decent responsiveness from the builder towards issues although it took some repeated requests and convincing for a few things.

Highland Homes - Quality of workmanship and carpentry, extremely disappointing.

Quality of workmanship and carpentry, extremely disappointing. Grass that was laid is lumpy and treacherous to walk on as it was not leveled or rolled. Paint drops on the floor, unpainted areas of home and short doors into bedrooms. We would be hesitant to purchase another Highland home.

Nice people but found multiple issues with the house

Bought a home in January 2022. The process was smooth and people were friendly. Once I moved in I found a lot of issues. Shower was leaking, garbage disposal isn’t working, garage open randomly in the middle of the night just to name a few. I understand it’s a new build but these were too many issues for me. Warranty request are followed up but even then they reschedule several times. Like I said nice people but too many issues.

Highland Homes - I bought an inventory home that was custom built for someone

I bought an inventory home that was custom built for someone else. It had been ready for sometime so I thought everything would be check and ready for move in. I’ve had a few service calls and a lot of Sheetrock break around the bullnose corners. This isn’t my first time buying a new home but it is my first time having build issues. Also numerous door knobs and ripped off form improper installation, doors barely on hinges. Not what I thought a Neary 800k home would be.

Our overall experience with Highland Homes has been positive. There was ample communication throughout the building process and we were kept up to date with progress. The financing and closing experience was also positive. I would have rated the overall experience higher if I completed the survey a month ago. However, we are 2 months after the closing and we are still struggling with getting the appropriate follow up on addressing the action items identified in the walk through. Multiple phone calls and texts have been sent. We receive promises that the work will be done, someone will contact ...
