Paint is everywhere, cracked tiles in the bathroom that still haven't been fixed. Leaking water line that they haven't come back to fix either. Will not buy another home from them.

Be sure to summarize every communication in writing point by point after each meeting as to your understanding and have them respond their agreement. Their people appear to forget easily. Not all their contractors are the best. Don't rely on their inspectors. Hire your own. We did like the floorplan and the location but we came close to walking away from the contract a few times.

Just move in around 90 days and I changed 8 of ceiling light!!! Painting is bad, we just find out inside and bottom of kitchen cabinet there a lot of exposing nails. The floor of 3 out of 5 rooms are not evenly...hopefully that’s all.

The Building Process was fun. There was a couple of things that scared me while we where building like beer cans and crack pipes that where found at my homesite that was kinda brushed off from the salesman but the construction manger did apologize for that. A couple of days before closing there was a huge water leak that flooded the front half of the house but was fixed. We have been in the home for two months now and still find issues that get addressed asap. The only issue I’m still having are the quality of my cabinets and still fighting to get them to repaint them or replace them.

Thoroughly walk through every single nook and cranny of your house as the walk through they push so fast as if they know things are missed. I have mortar missing at the top of my brick that connects to the roof that the builder should have caught not me. I find it very difficult to understand how the house next to me doesn’t have that issue but mine does and they use the same contractors. They don’t do caulking after you sign off on the house. Electrical voltage issues with the doorbells are a known issue and they are aware but not giving grade a transformers to fix the issue where it seems to be a monthly problem and it’s only been two and half months in the home. Make sure the wood is nailed down properly if you have upstairs otherwise you’ll be screwed. Not sure why so many issues that I have to call out if the project manager and his boss should be doing a detailed walk through before you do as they inform you. I wanted to love this house and used this builder because I thought they were better at everything compared to my previous builder but sad to say my previous house seems like it was built with better quality materials. I shouldn’t be able to sit in the master toilet and hear in the room next to me let alone have a conversation with the person in that room that can be heard clearly through the walls. A crack found on my secondary bathroom tile and it was pointed out for replacement of the tile instead they sent someone to put some paint or material that’s cheap on it that came up within 3 weeks of it being put down. The flood lights don’t get them, they are cheap for the price you pay you can get better quality getting a ring one on your own. I have to hire pest control to get rid of wasps that got in my attic/ roof of the house due to missing mortar in the front and sides of my house that connects to the wood because it was left open which I had to seal the front however cannot do the rest of the house as it requires a large ladder so now after being here 2 and a half months I have to come out of pocket to fix. Do better if you claim to be America’s best builder. I hope you rectify the issues with the doorbells and the mortar missing around the top of the house. Outside of this the house looks nice however with small mortar missing around the top of the house I’m nervous what the house will look and feel like in 2-5 years. Proceed with caution and if you can make sure you and your realtor come out every week to do a detailed walk through. I did but didn’t have the realtor do it and pointed out what I could when I wasn’t rushed by them talking nice and educating but moving swiftly ends up in lack of love for what you pay an arm / leg for when it’s not fixed within the first year. We had bad experience with Highland builder. It seemed that they don’t care much about quality of workmanship. A lot of issues were found before and after moving in. Very slow progress when resolved an issue. Satisfaction still not meet for some issues such as lot of stains on driveways and garage, front and backyard weren’t level properly, damage and lack of grass for yards, outside walls and entryway has lot of pant and grout spills

We had our walk through on 2 separate occasions and none of the items they were supposed to fix were complete. We lived in the house for a week before they replaced the broken dishwasher that we pointed out to them a month prior to close. We still have patchy paint on the walls and poor texture. My husband had to go all the way up the corporate chain to get any acknowledgement from the project manager.

Sellers provided false information along the process and would not honor their word despite have pictures, emails and texts to prove what they said. It is almost impossible to contact people local and at corporate to have issues addressed.

Too many issues to write about. We definitely wouldn’t choose Highland Homes again.

I don't think our home should have been sold in its current state. All of the initial responders to our problems are gone, we are getting a slow response to repairs and the home is incomplete.

In less than a month after moving in some items failed working and even after reporting to the warranty manager no body came to fix it. Highlands needs to improve on how to handle their customers complains.

Going into buying a home, we were thrilled to choose Highland Homes. After the process we have gone through I would not recommend to anyone based on quality of workmanship and repetitive issues with work being incomplete or done poorly. Overall a very poor experience.

Closed on home with laundry list of items to be completed 60 plus days in home and still not completed nor a timeline to be completed.

Frustrating process with the building of our house.The lack of supervision during the construction stage generated unnecessary repairs and too many follow up actions after the closing.

Terrible quality workmanship, would not recommend!

Do not close on your home until it can pass the final walk through. No one wants to take responsibility for the many mistakes that were made. I was told the things that are wrong is how things have been done for the past 5 yrs. Very sloppy work. I will never buy a Highland Home again.

We were really excited to move into our home but, it turned into a less than stellar experience as we realized that there were so many things, big and small, that appeared to be hastily done and poorly constructed. There are already cracks in the basedoards, rust in the sinks and bathtubs (which have never been used) and, the garage door came off of the hinges and very nearly crushed both of our vehicles. I could go on but again, beautiful home, terrible workmanship.

Highland home is a nice quality home but after you close it takes too much time to get other repairs completed in a timely manner. When you do a walk through take your time you cannot catch everything. Need to do a better job in closing. when you close everything should be completed not incomplete.

It wasn’t a pleasant experience we were told constantly about the highland touch we came every 2 weeks to see progress and any issues. We sent pictures emails alot of issues weren’t addressed properly. When we closed we still had several issues and we were told they’d be taken care of 4 months later still all issues not resolved we were the last house painted by the crew that was fired. In the last 4 months we have had a multitude of contractors in and out of our home ( if they show up ) Still going through issues. Closed the house with a lot of defects. They promised to fix but take them forever.

Adam was very good and helpful during buying process. We loved the location of house, however, finishing and detailing is not good. We bought a house in end of October and they installed wrong bathroom wall tiles. Zack has been helping for construction management. We tole him that this is not the tile that we ordered. After that we did follow up 4 to 5 times and every time he would say he would find out and then never got back to us. We still don’t have correct tile in our master bathroom for which we already paid. Our one of bathroom cabinet is still needs to be changed.

I do not know if I have enough room. 1. Fireplace was not put in correctly and whoever put it in bent some things so it looked like it was in correctly. 2. Tile is cracked and covered up with paint to look as if not cracked. 3. Side of house was not finished and had a hole in it (we had to fix it) 4 We paid for an extended patio (16,000$) and they did not brick in the back! It looks so cheap it is embarrassing to have people over. 5. Light fixture in entrance looked like the one we ordered but it was a much smaller version and have yet to get the one we ordered (was this done on purpose thinking we would not see the difference?) 6. Guttering in the back of the house...well there is none and when it rains, the rain makes a big hole in the yard. 7. The black fireplace tile was done incorrectly and it is off center. 8. Paint missing on the inside and outside of the house and no one will give us the name of the paint so we can get it and fix it ourselves. 9. No one will give us a manual and you cannot find one online to "fix" our air conditioner/heater so that we might adjust the temperature. I want to add that Don and Linda are great... ... More

to resolve issues it take a decade.. i have bought my home in July.. and still there are things that needs to be completed. the labor used is not very good by this company. they are not very detail oriented.

This is my first time with highlands and I am very disappointed on the amount of issues I am having with a NEW home. Feels like a used home.

Check every detail of the house before buying.....
