Builder and sales people were great to work with. Love house.

Home is average, had multiple issues upon moving in but the service and timeliness to tend to the issues were excellent. I must commend the sales/ construction management team on their service, but I would not buy nor recommend a Highland home to anyone.

Poor walls and supplies used. Paint rubs right off. More than 20 items needed to be fixed or repaired AFTER moving in. Been here for more than 3 months and still waiting for repairs and replacements.

Construction quality is excellent. Choice of different floor plan is good . Finesse in Painting can be improved. Warrant department is very responsive .

We just moved in our second Highland home and we couldn't be more pleased with our beautiful home. We checked with other builders, but their prices were high. We did look at Lennar, but they were unwilling to negotiate prices or make any changes, even like adding extra electric plugs to make the home more "Smart." Highland homes were priced much better than the other builders in our subdivision AND they bent-over-backwards to make changes to the house, we requested like moving the fireplace to new location, adding windows, adding floor and electric plugs, moving a bedroom closet to garage to add square footage to room and many more changes. Essentially, we were able to customize the home to fit our needs. Quality: we had inspectors review home during building process. One inspector remarked about how well Highland homes are built, from previous inspections. However, in our inspections he showed the extra steps Highland took for high energy efficiency and superior quality build. He said, "You normally only see these type of extras on million dollar custom build homes and these are standard on Highland." Also, he was so impressed with the plumbing, he took pictures to use as examples of how plumb the home right. He remarked that it was refreshing to inspect a home with so few and minor issues. Highland People: We visited many Highland communities model homes to get ideas for our home. Even though the sales people knew we were buying in another community, they still went out of their way to answer questions and to help us. Our sales counselor and building coordinator were very kind and trustworthy people who were exceptionally responsive to our questions and needs. Also, our designer truly understood what were looking for in a home, even though we were really not quite sure it even able to articulate what we wanted. She was able to magically bring a hodge-podge of ideas and desired and designed a beautiful home which looks like model quality and has all of the elements we love. Highland people are the kind of people you would choose to call "friend." So if you want to build your dream home at the right price, customize it to fit your lifestyle, and want to feel secure in the knowledge that your home is extremely well-built: buy a Highland. During the construction of our home, the company made an error, installing something we had discussed but not ordered. When we noticed the error, they insisted on our NOT paying for that item. They acknowledged their error and paid for it. If I ever build another house, I will go to Highland.

Please please have your own inspector The labor they hire are worthless not good workmanship. They do not take pride in their work There is never a foreman in site yo check behind workers. I been in my home abouy 2 months now. Im still having problem. Had a leak in my house the first month. Poorly built. Im not satisfied about my house. I had to have highland come back and nailed down my floor board still having electrical problems present day 3/20/2019. Very very upset about my whole building experience. Never never again. I will never never refer highland homes to anyone, not even have a homeless dog live in an highland home. ... More

My timing was not ideal with being between three holidays Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Regardless the responsiveness and the handling of all the issues from the construction manager was outstanding. Many thanks to him for making unpleasant situation bearable.

Home was build with good quality and my builder is very responsive and patience to any of my issues/concerns.

Just move in around 90 days and I changed 8 of ceiling light!!! Painting is bad, we just find out inside and bottom of kitchen cabinet there a lot of exposing nails. The floor of 3 out of 5 rooms are not evenly...hopefully that’s all.

Hector and Jovanny at Highland Home were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and very responsive to our questions and requests. They definitely made our first time building a home a great experience. Jovanny was also great at resolving many issues very quickly no matter how small or big.

I would give this survey a 5/5 if the work quality was better and if issues were more transparent. Overall a good buying experience despite some hiccups, I will say that they are very responsive to issues that are raised, but if your paying close to half a million dollars for a home you expect it to be top notch. Jovanny and hector were absolutely great though! Thank you for everything!

Our house had no heat or AC for the first 2 weeks of owning it. We found the issue on the final walkthrough but we signed a form accepting it so we wouldn't delay closing. The weather was not too bad but we still expected it to be fixed. One weekend it was going to be very cold. Nothing had been done so I submitted a warranty request on the Thursday before and it wasn't even looked at until the Monday afterwards. We put an electric heater in out infant daughter's room but it was cold in the house. When I talked to the person on Monday she told me I should have just called the contractor directly and started explaining how they don't check the warranty requests every day. Thanks, next time I wont use the warranty claim form.... Eventually they got it fixed but when I buy something brand new I expect the basic systems to function. Other issues were minor like the stair spindles being crooked, gate wouldn't close, some surfaces weren't painted that should have been. They fixed all of those but again, if I am rating quality of workmanship and materials, even a 3 is generous given our experience. Plus they need a street sweeper in the neighborhood. I understand its under construction, but they don't even try to keep the streets clean. Our cars are filthy all the time. Again, a minor annoyance, but an annoyance nonetheless. ... More

The houses are nice. However, we are still waiting on the builder for some warranty repairs to be done (they’re really busy).

Overall a builder that you can trust because of the good customer service. I recommend Highland Homes

we believe we made the right decision in choosing highland homes. The best thing is that they fixed, corrected all the items which were reported in inspection before the closing. Their work wise we don't have any problems, it might be too early to give a review bcos it takes more time for us to see if we have any concerns about the purchase. But we would definitely recommend other to highland homes.

For the price paid, the builder should hire painters and workers who will pay more attention to details. The materials put into the home are great, but the way in which it was thrown together is a hug disappointment. Even after the initial and final walk they, you mark and it seems the workers shake their head as though they will correct the issues and I can back to find the same things undone.

Highland Mortgage and Highland Builders did a outstanding job!. We completed the offer, the loan and closing in 30 days.

We really liked HH (HighlandHomes) interior design and exterior design, which led us purchase the new-construction home. Sales experience was smooth and initial interaction (prior closing) with builder was nice as well. After moving into home, we opened more than expected warranty issues in first 2 months. We feel that HH is very strong in sales, interior/exterior design, overall home building standards, however we found that workers (i.e. contracting agencies doing actual work for HH) are rushing up and producing just okay. Electric/Lighting warranty issues are repeating several times. We hope that HH enforces contracting agencies to take ownership of faulty work and produce better quality home to customers. For only these reasons, I am reducing my rating for quality of workmanship & materials from 4 to 2, and Value for the price paid from 4 to 3. Builders are very responsive to warranty issues, we are still new to the home so we are hoping that warranty issues are resolved at customer's satisfaction. For new-construction home buyers, we would *highly* recommend buying Highland Homes over other builders for the value for the price paid. HH has improved very much in interior and exterior designs in last few years. Hope this review helps to both buyers and HH. ... More

In less than a month after moving in some items failed working and even after reporting to the warranty manager no body came to fix it. Highlands needs to improve on how to handle their customers complains.
