I bought new home from Highland. I got new home inspection which revealed to many issues. One cracked living room window, 3 heat resistance destroyed living room windows because of Argon gas loss. Every tone of black with Kitchen cabinets, non-working drawers, chips etc. Not polished properly kitchen countertop. No proper slope for garden and all rain water sits in the center of it. Non-working vents on bathroom. Very noisy fan hood in kitchen. Very noisy refrigerator. Cracking garage door which inside white outside dark grey, painted by Highland which causes blown fuse to many times. Garage door technician came and told me because of Highland painted the outside of garage door instead of ordering them on the correct color, paint sticks between parts and he removed some of the paint. Now I can see white lines between dark grey plates from outside. Some of these problem was fixed but I still have cracking garage door problem and noisy vent hood problem although I followed Highland team to many times. I am not sure how the home builder which is known one of the best of country provides so low quality control in their product before delivering to customer. We had an amazing experience building our home with Highland Homes, and I can’t say enough good things about the process—from start to finish, everything was smooth, professional, and well-communicated. One of the biggest highlights was working with our construction manager, Carter. He truly went above and beyond to make sure our home was built with quality and care. Carter was incredibly responsive, detail-oriented, and proactive in addressing questions or concerns. His professionalism and dedication gave us so much peace of mind during the entire build. Overall Rating: 3.5 out of 5 The construction experience was excellent, and Ray has been consistently helpful throughout the process. However, our experience with the Sales team left much to be desired. We encountered a situation that required escalation to the sales managers, which involved multiple follow-ups and several hours of our time to resolve. Near the end of the process, we were unexpectedly told to finalize the loan rate within the same day. We received a text message at 2 PM stating that the rate had to be locked in by 5 PM. The message felt aggressive, implying that failure to meet the deadline would result in penalties and a delayed closing date. This kind of communication felt more like a threat than a professional interaction and was not something we expected from a reputed builder like Highland. There was no prior notice about needing to finalize the rate that day, which added unnecessary stress to an already time-sensitive matter. I love my new home.

The process they have with pre-closing and home orientation is flawed. We had several items on the list to be fixed but the focus was on closing and not finishing the punchlist. We have been closed for almost two months and are still trying to resolve issues. Highland needs to have an independent quality check prior to closing. They say they do but they don’t. After we closed we came to the house and our cooktop was in the floor because it did not fit, which was an issue for weeks prior to closing which they had time to fix but just could get it done. Expect a good experience with Highland Homes. Our sales person, Tony, was super helpful explaining everything about buying our home. The design center personnel were easy to work with and helped us make the best choices. We have been very pleased with our warranty experience so far. Jack and team have been very responsive to all our questions and had the various teams complete the warranty work very quickly and thoroughly. We’re pleased with our decision to purchase a Highland Homes.

I had a great homebuying experience with Highland Homes. I spent several months house shopping, and the floor plan I found with Highland Homes was different from all of the other new construction homes I looked at. My home appears to be well built with quality materials. Jack is my current point of contact for any warranty matters that arise. He is professional and extraordinarily responsive. Thus far, Highland Homes appears to be a company that stands behind its quality and workmanship.

Highland is a really goog company to work in my opinion the better

There were some miscommunications and moments of friction during the process, but in the end, Highland did come through and delivered a good-quality home. To future buyers: do not wait until the final walk through to start identifying issues - start early, while the home is still under construction. Be proactive, visit the site often, and keep detailed notes. This will help you and Highland work together toward delivering a more complete and accurate final product. Some details fell through the cracks at the design center -for example, the tile behind the mirrors in the master bath, which was not included in the final build (we assumed it would be, since it was shown in the model). Do not assume something is included, verify. That said, we had to reference our paperwork multiple times and advocate for items that were supposed to be included. There appears to be a disconnect between Highland corporate, the sales/design team, and the contractors doing the actual construction. On more than one occasion, we had to point out selections that the builders had not been informed of. That said, once issues were raised, Highland was generally responsive and worked with us to make things right. Aside from these challenges, the overall experience and final outcome were positive. Just go into the process with the understanding that active involvement is essential to avoid missteps and ensure you get the home you were promised. ... More

Overall, I’m happy with certain aspects of my new home, particularly the great location and the beautiful natural lighting throughout the space. The second floor has a well-thought-out layout and feels very comfortable and functional. However, there are areas that could have been better. The first floor feels too crowded, with limited space in the family and dining areas. The design leaves little flexibility for arranging furniture, which I found disappointing. I also experienced some frustration during the buying process. The sales representative was not very friendly and, when a mistake was made with the carpet installation, her response was dismissive. She said the incorrect carpet “looked better,” even though I had carefully chosen the original color and was not seeking her opinion. Additionally, I noticed poor workmanship in several places, especially with the cabinet and kitchen island installation. There were also multiple dings and imperfections on materials like baseboards that should have been addressed prior to move-in. While I appreciate many things about my home, I hope future buyers can benefit from improvements in both customer service and attention to detail during the build and finishing stages. ... More

Several construction items (Awning not properly installed above front entrance.) that required numerous contacts / conversations to have resolved.

With the paint there are some small problems but the rest the seller was very friendly and excellent. I am happy.

From beginning to end, our purchase has been a satisfying and happy experience. My husband loves to tell others about my reaction when we walked through the door at the open house. He says that 30 seconds after walking through the door, I turned to him and said, “I love this house.” He says that 30 seconds after that I said “I really love this house.” I can tell you that I still feel that way every time I enter the house.
