Wish I could say better things - but very disappointed overall.

Highlands provided us with good service/assistance. They addressed our concerns and requests during the process of buying our home, made sure everything is on time up to the closing period. We were able to move in our new home as planned/scheduled. Terrence and Jovanni provided assistance and help

I absolutely love my new townhome! It's beautiful and everything I ever wanted. The problem is in the quality. I have had so many problems since closing. Not even two weeks after moving in, I was infested with mice so bad that I had to move out temporarily. They did not properly seal the attic in six places and left open gaps. I was lucky that only mice came in. Their warranty department would not reimburse me for what I had to spend to get this fixed. I could not get my shutters installed because water was coming in through the windows and had to force them to fix this. It took a long time to get the breakers to stop tripping! It seemed as if this was their first build out. They tell you that their claims department will take care of things after you close, but their claims deparment just asks questions, and sends someone to look at things (when it's convenient for them) they give you so much run around, BEWARE! There were other small glitches here and there, but never have I had such poor experience with any other builder in the past. Very disappointing considering such a beautiful townhome. Great sales people. Troy and Victor were amazing, I enjoyed working with them very much. It's just a shame that the construction and the construction staff need to gain experience on what they are doing and how to treat customers. I will never again purchase from Highland Homes. ... Highland is very responsible and trustworthy builder, They take care the home owners very well I am very happy with my home

Overall experience went very smooth, from selecting lot, floor plan, brick, etc. A little more clarity on what are builder options vs design center options would be helpful. Also would like more options for lighting than what was offered. Construction phase went very good with timely updates and walk-thru meetings. Hector and John very great to work with.

Our Construction Manager, Ed, has visited on multiple occasions to ensure that any warranty matters are addressed in a timely manner.

Great shoping experience, really nice house

My experience with Highland Homes is as below. Positive experiences - Good plans. I found Highland Homes plans quite good. I think they have made good use of the overall space and good amount of light in the homes. - The construction material is generally good, with some exceptions as highlighted below in the negative section. - The home was delivered before the promised timeline, which was quite helpful. - The Sales Team was quite good and responsive. They were helpful in making some minor changes here and there, although, everything was through a change order. Negative. - Design Center experience was not up to the mark. The available options for upgrade were limited, especially in the case of wood flooring/Laminate. There were barely 4-5 options for laminate flooring and relatively few wooden flooring options. - Quality of workmanship. In my experience few places the supervision of the work was not adequate. E.g. the tiles in the master bathroom were not in perfect level as a result you can feel the edges and not much can be done about it. Also the sod in the backyard was laid without proper levelling as a result there is lot of uneven surface, which is an expensive proposition for the customer after closing which could have been avoided with little supervision. - Material. My observation on material quality is particularly with framing. I noticed in few places the studs used were not very good or strong. I had a hard time installing TV wall mount as some of the studs were damaged. This could have been avoided with supervision. There was a noticeable difference in the framing as compared to some of the leading builders. - Responsiveness. The response from the project team has not been up to the mark. While it was addressed to some extent, but it went down after the closing again. - Value for the price. The upgrades in general were very expensive, including the listed price, while some promotions were applied but there was little adjustment for the steep price drop right after the closing. Overall, I am happy with my home as it built before the promised timeline and like the plan, but there is a lot of room for improvement in the overall customer experience as highlighted above. ... This was my second build. Highland went above my expectations in craftsmanships, customer service, and production deadlines. Glenn was a fantastic salesman and Jim was a phenomenal project manager. I could not have been happier with the process. I strongly recommend Highland homes to anyone looking for a new home in the area.

I am writing to express my concerns regarding the workmanship on our new home. While we understand that no home is without minor imperfections, my husband and I have encountered several issues that have left us disappointed, given the significant investment we made. During the construction process, we visited the site regularly and noticed some concerning behaviors and quality issues: *We frequently saw beer cans scattered around the site. *There was evidence of smoking inside our home, even though we are non- smokers. We brought several issues to the attention of the construction manager and he promised they would be fixed and till this day their still not fixed. * improperly installed items *paint on the floor, bathroom fixtures, lights crooked (not slightly crooked) *front door installed incorrectly *the list goes on For the amount of money we paid, it feels as though it's a starter home. This is my first time with Highland Homes, and I have been pleased with them from the start. The sales consultant, Anita, has been very helpful and offered good suggestions from start to finish. Additionally, I receive weekly updates about the progress of my home from Devin, who I believe is the construction manager. In my opinion, he has great attention to detail. Overall, my experiences so far have been positive, and I love my new home. If I buy a second home, it will definitely be with Highland Homes again—no doubt!

My overall experience with Highland Homes through-out my purchase process was a "great experience." I had the opportunity to make a few changes that went exceptionally well. All of my changes and choices were completed with the "Highest Degree of Professionalism." I'm extremely HAPPY with my new home choice, although there were several styles to choose from. It's very stressful to buy a home, with a Massive Mix of Emotions and numerous choices. This overwhelming process took over a year to settle on what was-right for me. After making my choice, Troy and David provided understanding, great listening skills, immediate replies to my questions and total professional attitudes which kept my emotions in check. It has been a very disappointing experience. Many issues to fix with the house after moving in. Very poor paint job in some of the rooms, issues with plumbing, the dishwasher wasn't installed properly and leaked on to the floor. The flooring needed replacing after this, but 6 weeks later it still hasn't happened. A light fixture in the kitchen has been broken for 4 months. No replacement in sight. I now dislike my home because of the experience the builder has given me.

Overall experience was great. Patient builder, kept me in the loop the whole time. Great app to walk you through the construction steps. Enjoyed the experience!

This is the best house I’ve seen to date

Working with Highland has been a great experience. They truly care about their customers even after the purchase is complete. We love our new home and highly recommend Highland Homes to anyone looking to purchase a new construction home.

The materials used in the house are acceptable, but there is no good construction team to bring out the best in them. There are too many areas in the house that need improvement, many walls do not look new, and the attitude of the house inspection supervisor is extremely bad!

I recently purchased a new property from Highland Homes, and I must say, the experience has been extremely disappointing. Here's why: 1. Poor Workmanship: The quality of the construction is far below what one would expect for the price. Numerous issues have arisen, from uneven flooring to poorly finished walls and faulty plumbing. It’s evident that the craftsmanship is subpar. 2. Low Quality Materials: The materials used in the construction of the home are of low quality. Doors, windows, and fixtures all feel cheap and have already begun to show signs of wear and tear within a short period of moving in. 3. High Prices: The cost of the home is exorbitant compared to the quality delivered. You are essentially paying a premium price for what amounts to substandard housing. 4. Poor Responsiveness: Trying to get issues addressed by the builder has been a nightmare. Customer service is unresponsive, and when they do respond, the solutions are either inadequate or delayed significantly. 5. Lack of Trustworthiness: Overall, the experience has left me with a deep sense of mistrust towards Highland Homes. The experience was the worst I have ever had in buying a home. Our realtor, Hector and my finance person didn’t get a long, they were pointing fingers at who was at fault, Hector went so far to add me and my wife on the email chain, and the result ended up causing us to miss closing and having to move twice. We emailed Hector’s boss about how unprofessional this was and his boss still to this day has never acknowledged or responded.. No one cared that all the unprofessional behavior cost us, the buyer, thousands of dollars to move and store our items until we could get closed. The VA inspector reached out to Hector for a week, with NO response, then when Hector finally responded and scheduled the inspector the home did NOT have appliances. The house has had several issues, that if anyone really looked they would have been fixed, 2 doors with door handles uneven, one much higher than the other. Underneath cabinets paneling falling off, paint was sloppy, the painters have been back several times. The yard has an open ticket now, our grass is dead, we noted this in walk through. Once the terms were agreed upon, things proceeded relatively smoothly. However, as the closing date approached, our experience took a turn for the worse. The initially agreed-upon numbers suddenly increased significantly, with a considerable hike in the total house value causing a major dispute among all parties involved. Despite the challenges, we persisted, and at the last minute, the numbers came down closer to the original agreement—though not quite the same. The Construction Manager has been excellent, addressing our concerns and providing support when needed. The materials are cheap. Replaced light fixtures in bedroom with ceiling fans and the fixtures were plastic and could not be more than $10. This is throughout the house - I could go on. The warranty department is non responsive. Still waiting for a response and have left serveral messages. The air conditioner is not working properly and will be the 3rd call directly to the company they picked.
