Received a quality house that is better than others.

Built fast but with quality in mind

Highland Homes was open and honest throughout our entire home purchasing and construction process. Their support even after our closing date had been outstanding.

Do not close without having your punch list addressed and completed. I was trusting that the punch list items would be addressed in a timely manner after closing and that was far from the case. I have emailed Highland Homes and have received no response to my issues. I am at the point where I am willing to pay out of pocket to fix my new home, Sad state of affairs.

Do not purchase a home without the actual homebuyer approving the overall process and closing.

Still waiting for a microwave trim piece, paint kit that was promised, and proof of purchase for appliances so we can get a warranty item taken care of. Going on three months now to resolve these issues !!!

We are happy with our house. We did experience frustrating delays and poor communication. We like our builder, but he is spread to thin. We are still waiting on incomplete items. There is paint on our wood floors, our garage door needs another coat of paint, rust ring from a paint can on one of our bathroom counters. It would be nice for someone to follow up a month or two after move in to address these kind of concerns. The one area where the craftsmanship could be better is the cabinets.

Craig has been great correcting any issues.

Highland Homes is first among not so many equals. My delay in responding is that due to the pandemic there are painting touch ups and a few other things which will be accomplished soon. The delays been at our request.

This was our second purchase with Highland Homes, because we were so happy with our first one. From the day we expressed interest in a home site to the day we closed (and beyond), the entire Highland team was absolutely amazing! Our Sales Consultant followed up with questions and reminders in a timely manner. She also reached out several times to make sure that our lender wasn’t waiting on anything from her or if she could provide any further documentation. Our Building Foreman was also very responsive, providing progress updates regularly and answering questions in detail to help us understand every step of the construction process. He was very attentive to detail and was on a mission to make sure we were as satisfied as possible with our new home. He was always happy to make sure subcontractors corrected any installations that we weren’t happy with to make sure they were 100% correct. Both were always professional and friendly! We would buy/build with Highland again without a doubt. Our salesperson was responsive, thoughtful, and advocated for our needs. The builder, again, super thoughtful, addressed items - some before we could even think of them - and we felt his pride in the home. We did buy the model, so it had a lot of upgrades, but also very practical and thoughtful items like the built in spice rack on the pantry door. We love our house. The thoughtful floor plan, the flow, the neighborhood, the oaks, the beautiful landscaping.

Laurie and Brody make a great team to work with when purchasing a new home. Both of them were extremely responsive during the build and quickly looked into and answered any questions we had. We highly recommend them and Highland Homes!

Lindsey was soooo wonderful to us. She was always willing to help answer anything we needed and if she didn’t know the answer she immediately work to find it out for us.

But because of the home being built so quickly, there were many things that were overlooked. Our two main upgrades (Lot size & master shower) were not completed to our liking and we are still resolving these issues. Also the sprinkler system was set up prior to moving in and it was set to run three times a day, every day and our first water bill was almost $900. It would have been nice to know that issue before moving in. Very frustrating!

I have owned many new homes from different builders and this has been the one with the worst quality of build.

I had great experience with the sales counselor and she respond to every question I have quickly. She work with me to complete all the upgrades or changes I requested.

Cheaply made cabinets. Had wiring issues, split base boards, garage door issue, back door to the house howls when the wind blows and drainage issues in the back yard. For the price of the house you would think we would not have so many issues. I spent 100k less for my last house and never had this many issues.

We were pleased overall with our building experience with Highland Homes. There were some quality of workmanship issues with some of the finishing crews at the end of our build, but our builder was helpful in trying to resolve those issues. Some have been resolved, and others still have a resolution being worked towards. That part has been very frustrating for a new homeowner.

Using Highland as our builder was one of the best decisions I ever made. It’s not like everyday you go out to purchase a home, but the highland team made the whole experience remarkable! From making sure my questions were answered to executing our upgraded options to our home. They were on top of it and provided a piece of mind that made us feel at ease. Thanks Highland for making this house into our dream home!

We are extremely satisfied with the entire building process. Everyone we talked to on the Highland Homes team was a pleasure to work with. They worked with us literally every step of the way. We were a little nervous building a new house from out of state, but the team made it as smooth and seamless as possible. We're happy we went with HH! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

whew. here we go. We moved into a new build home by Highland Homes in August 2020 and have found so many issues with build quality of the home, as well as drainage issues on the land. Land/ Property: Drainage issue was brought up during construction in March/ April and was not assessed until we threatened to pull out of home purchase in August. This is still ongoing even through October 2020. Have had 2-3 development managers come out and discuss adjustments, a few fixes have been made to little or no avail, but it should have been discussed/ adjustments made to the property back when we brought it to their attention months prior. Home: We have had doorknobs (front and back doors) completely fall off multiple times. I had the builder adjust twice and still has fallen more. these will be noted soon and hopefully completely replaced. Painters have needed 2-3 trips to get to where we are now, and more trips are still needed to complete their jobs. The AC thermostats did not work and needed to be replaced, the alarm circuit did not work and required adjustments, the digital locks were not tracked and it took a few discussions by BSG and builder to find out who is responsible for install of those. The skybell doorbell also needed replaced. The oven vent was installed incorrectly and needed to be replaced. Multiple trim boards were bowed out. We just discovered when it got cold that the Heating in the HVAC is not working. 2 closets did not even get all of the storage/shelving that was supposed to be added. One had no storage/shelving at all. Builder only discovered after we went into another same-plan home. Landscaping: Landscapers planted 16 plants which would grow to be gigantic bushes in a garden which shouldnt have had 3 or 4 max. When i asked about it, i was told they were weeds... even after providing photos from when they were planted by landscapers. Eventually they did come out and replace. but had to go back and forth between builder and landscapers to identify what was even planted. Conclusion: I have moved into 3 or 4 new-construction homes, and this one has had more problems than any of those COMBINED. If my family wasnt already in process of having their home built by Highland, i would never refer them. All of the individuals i have worked with have been nice and very accommodating, the followthrough is what has been severely lacking though. I honeslty have felt that every single week we have 2-3 new issues to add to our 90-day warranty fix list. I havent included a single one of those (30+) issues in this review.
