Highland Homes Reviews in San Antonio, TX

Marion, my builder, has been very responsive taking care of my concerns, which haven’t been many. She genuinely cares about satisfying her homeowners!

We had a wonderful experience building a Highland Homes! The entire team is very professional, answered all of our questions, and delivered a very high quality home. Thank you to everyone who helped us through this process! I would recommend Highland to anyone looking for a new home!

We are thrilled with our new home. Our builder, Craig, and our sales rep., Thea, were great to work with.

Everything done well and if not to complete satisfaction, it was corrected in a timely manner. High class and very quality in every way

The entire team from sales office to closing, and beyond was absolute incredible. If I needed to purchase a home again in the future, Highland Homes will always be at the top of the list! I had a very easy experience and they made it incredibly simple for me as a first time buyer.

Every door knob has fallen off, the hardware is so cheap. 4 toilets and every handle is missing pieces in the back. Washers missing. It’s embarrassing to bring people in to my home. The toilets and tubs backed up in 1st week. The stench of sewage was something we had to live with for a month, with a one year old and three year old. The worst thing is I have kids and the rails have fallen through upstairs. Allowing the ability for one of my kids to fall through the railing. Can provide time stamped pics for everything. The water heaters were not working for the 1st month of ownership. They were replaced. My kids had to bathe at a family members home for weeks. The lack of insulation is insane. Not only for sound but the cold. I have a thermal camera for hunting and looked at the wall and laughed. ... More

It was easy to by they respond to things really fast that need to be fixed nice house.

This was our second Highland Home. Planning on it being our last, the initial experience was good, but went down hill with a temporary showroom and lack luster selection. Then our Construction Manager was out sick from just after foundation pour till a month before closing. Never the less they kept building, we would walk through on weekends and notice that there was work going on but under no real supervision. Needless to say there were issues but luckily I contracted a home inspector. We wish people were honest and trustworthy but at the end of the day I don’t know what I’m looking at and it’s a lot of money we are paying for to have second rate contractors while being charged at a level of licensed contractors. As we got closer to closing we come and find out that we requested matching hutch and they didn’t submit the request in time so we didn’t get what we originally agreed to and are stuck with someone else’s mistake of being overwhelmed with paperwork and fill other people jobs. Currently going through the house getting ready to submit repairs orders just having to deal with this can be overwhelming. It the back and forth with them trying to get it done the cheapest possible way. ... More

Highland Homes has been great to deal with.

Builder was very responsive to any issues I needed them to address. The selling agent was also always available and interested in our needs. The product was very good, except that some of the subs may have rushed. The door was not put on with a screw large enough to keep it from sagging, so until that was fixed the deadlock did not smoothly engage. The down spout pulled off the wall on the side of the house after the first big rain, and the paint on base boards around the floor blistered mysteriously, possibly cause by very small amounts of water (perhaps particle board?). However, Highland quickly acted to remedy all of these problems and was sympathetic to my concerns -- so I am satisfied. Even though Like the company, I have to be honest so I could not give them a 5 on quality of workmanship & materials. Perhaps this sort of problem happens with all builders. ... More

Tough process in today's market, but Highland home loans was excellent. We love the home, great quality..

Highland Homes builds a great product! Their architecture, design and finish out are amazing. We went from a fully custom home to an inventory home, and it was a near flawless transition. I would recommend them to anyone. I would not recommend their Home loans, but as a builder they are amazing!

Very unsatisfied with the responsiveness of our contractor at Veramendi location. Many of the same issues were brought up multiple times with clear communication on our end regarding quality of workmanship and incomplete work. The contractor would make excuses and often times would not even be aware that the various tradesmen never showed up to complete work. Disappointed to see on our final walkthrough that several of these issues still remained unresolved. Weeks after moving in we are still trying to complete the list and take time off from our busy schedules to be available for the work to be completed or re-done correctly. Frustrating. ... More

Great people to work with. They care about you.

Chris and Criselda were so easy to work with. We built this house long distance and their service was over the top.

There’s too much to negative items to list on this second Highland home purchase. I’d like to highlight that there are still items that are not repaired or replaced. Craftsmanship and quality control lack in this caliber of home. Professionalism lacks from the sales agent of which we never met or greeted by. Again, this is our experience with Highland homes.

Higland homes are luxury homes. They are not cheap but an excellent investment with high quality. If you looking for quality then highland homes is your 1st and last stop

This is our dream house, and it turned out better than expected.

I had a great experience with the builder and he met all my needs and addressed all my concerns.

Wade our builder was great at keeping us updated during the build process and responding to our concerns. Went above and beyond in some cases and really appreciate the work that was done. However after close it's been a bit of a different story, the punch list that was supposed to be closed within 30 days is still outstanding. Some of this I understand is because he is busy and getting the trades aligned.

Eva was amazing to work with and even stayed late when our lender was late sending documents

I had a great experience purchasing home. Had all my questions answered and made the whole process easy.

Best home buying experience from start to finish.

Thank you to Highland Homes for building our dream home! We fell in love with the floor plan and all of the options that Megan the sales lady showed us to personalize our home. Thank you to everyone for helping us through this process!
