The loan process was very smooth and easy.

Good quality sturdy home.

Easy to work with. Builder Dave was great.

My wife and I love the home; however, our AC unit is not up to par. The temp in the house is 72 degrees, but the humidity level has been as high as 83%. We bought a small portable dehumidifier to help control the humidity level to something a little more tolerable, like 50-55%.

There a few issues with appliances and interior finishes. Const rep was very helpful in correcting issues

We were pleased overall with our building experience with Highland Homes. There were some quality of workmanship issues with some of the finishing crews at the end of our build, but our builder was helpful in trying to resolve those issues. Some have been resolved, and others still have a resolution being worked towards. That part has been very frustrating for a new homeowner.

Overall a good experience. Was a little disappointed that some things weren’t done right the first time and had to have someone come fix it. We love our home though

Still waiting for a microwave trim piece, paint kit that was promised, and proof of purchase for appliances so we can get a warranty item taken care of. Going on three months now to resolve these issues !!!

Our experience with Highland has been great. Sales and the CM are very responsive. I would have given all five stars but we have a few pending to be addressed. In all honesty we are a bit disappointed with the quality of the paint work. It is noticeable where certain areas need to second coat of paint.

The Sales Counselor for Mesa Western exemplify everything that is great about building with Highland Homes. Ivy is a gem!!

Home is very beautiful. Seems to be very well built with the exception of a few things where you can tell the workers cut corners and didn’t care. Also a few little warranty items, but that’s to be expected with a new build. Overall happy with our decision to build with Highland.

The issues we have are all post move-in for and finish and the lack of responsiveness and caring. Things were told to us that never occurred or multiple tickets were submitted for the same issue over the course of weeks. At week eight there are still unresolved issues from move in.

Wade our builder was great at keeping us updated during the build process and responding to our concerns. Went above and beyond in some cases and really appreciate the work that was done. However after close it's been a bit of a different story, the punch list that was supposed to be closed within 30 days is still outstanding. Some of this I understand is because he is busy and getting the trades aligned.

For the most part, the experience was pretty good. Whether it was the sales person or the loan officer that was all a great experience. What was not a great experience was the sloppiness of following up on actions needing addressed prior to and after closing (entry light crooked, master tub faucet leaking, etc.) and the lack of quality painting throughout the house. We spent an entire day scraping paint droppings off of our tile floor just so that we could seal all of the tile throughout the house. I assume it’s hard to find good painters, but someone should’ve followed up after the painters finished and made them clean up after themselves. With the amount of money that was spent to purchase this house, I expected better. On a different note, all of the warranty items that I have requested action on, have been followed up on very promptly, and they have been doing a very good job in this area. ... More

Overall, we are quite happy with our new home. The sales team and construction supervisor have been easy to work with. Supply chain issues and labor availability have caused problems but those are being sorted out over time. All in all, we would recommend Highland Homes as a builder, but in today's environment it would be advisable to have a flexible move date.

Overall we are happy with the home. We have wanted to build this floor plan for several years. The architectural styling is very aesthetically pleasing. The high ceilings make the house feel very comfortable. Unfortunately, building the house was a painful process. Seems like current housing demands and supply of crews significantly impacted the process. Current supply shortages required brick, rock and granite re-selection. Most of the sub-contractors seem to rush through their work, leading to many items requiring revision. The quality of work seemed to not be of importance, unless addressed by the consumer. It did feel that only a few crews took pride in their work (mason, cabinetry, landscape). Some steps of the build seemed to be out of order (carpet installed prior to paint/trim work completion) leading to stained carpet. The original estimation of the home completion was five months. The build ended up taking 13 months from date of signing. A home that had the foundation poured two days before ours, was completed two months ahead of ours. Closing day was chaos. Normally one would not close until all pending repairs were completed. However, we had been stuck in an apartment for longer than anticipated. We are happy with our house. We did experience frustrating delays and poor communication. We like our builder, but he is spread to thin. We are still waiting on incomplete items. There is paint on our wood floors, our garage door needs another coat of paint, rust ring from a paint can on one of our bathroom counters. It would be nice for someone to follow up a month or two after move in to address these kind of concerns. The one area where the craftsmanship could be better is the cabinets.

Love my new home but there should be more attention to the little details that stand out once you move in. Maybe not so rushed to make sure everything is correct. Overall I would rate a 4 out of 5 stars. There’s always room for improvement!

Working with the Highland office girls and the construction supervisor has been overall positive. I have been in the home since mid November, and continue to find things that the actual construction workers missed doing or did poorly. I guess it's hard to find good carpentry these days. The Highland homes have good curb appeal, that's what caught my eye.

Tough time to build and buy a new home. High prices with limited supplies and limited laborers. Our General Contractor, Dave, did a great job working through issues and working directly with us. Hard to believe we paid such a high price for the home and that’s no one’s fault it’s just the way it is in this current market.

This is our 3rd Highland home. We had a great experience working with the Highland team leading up to the purchase. Completing the punch list after the purchase has been challenging.
