Little things that could have been included for the money that was spent. Doors, switches, lights these were just a couple up grades I paid for. Was not to happy about how high my foundation was built up in comparison to my neighbors. On the plus Rich n Ken did a good job of our concerns of the home.

My wife and I bought this beautiful home and we are very happy. Even after being in the home for 2 months, we still find it unbelievable to be in this house. We were in the process of buying another home but our close date was extended and we weren’t happy. We looked at other options and found this gem. The house was close to being completed so we only had to wait about a month before we closed. Our walk through went well and any issues we found were minor and fixed quickly. Now that we are in the house, at this time my biggest issue is this hole in my front yard with a wire sticking out of it. I’ve addressed it several times with my POC (Sam) but nothing has been done about it. For the most part the home is very nice. Quite a few of the finishes are cheap for the price we paid for the home and we've needed lots of things fixed, straightened, touched up, or replaced already. Somethings are fixed quickly and others have taken a very long time. Double check the listing you buy from as well. Ours said the house would come with gutters...it didn't, a double oven, it didn't, and other things like this.

Sales team in Ventana is fabulous. However the shortages and manpower caused us numerous headaches. We had a list of over 50 uncompleted items when we moved in. After 3 months it is still not completed. Bette attention paid to this would be helpful. I do still think Highland builds a great home.

I will preface this message by saying our experience with the sales counselor, Thea, and on site construction supervisor. Chuck, has been positive. However, I don’t believe that our Highland home was/is a good value. There were issues before we moved in. There have been issues that we continue to deal with and new items of poor quality and craftsmanship seem to surface almost daily. We had heard very positive comments about the quality of Highland homes, and I believe in other homes, that’s accurate, however, this home does not appear to have been built in the same manner. My list of items to be addressed continues to grow, but we really would like someone at the corporate level to either come to our house or talk with us directly about these ongoing issues and overall poor quality. We like our home overall and the options and features that were offered. Unfortunately we’ve found many quality issues in the first couple of months that we’ve lived in the home. Many of them were things we brought up prior to moving in to our home. It has been very disruptive to our lives working through the warranty process to resolve issues and often requiring multiple attempts to resolve the issues. Many of the issues we’ve just elected to resolve ourselves because they’re things we’re capable of fixing it and we don’t trust that it’ll be done right. Failed multiple times by construction manager Response time for corrections very poor To much to list

Take lots of pictures and document everything during pre-construction and construction, and especially during blue tape. monitor utility meters as soon as possible, just so your not blindsided 2 months later of a water leak that was never discovered. just goes to show, anything can happen. Started out as a second home made it harder to keep up with everything. Over all above average.

Jon, the salesman, was shady and would tell us whatever he thought would get us to sign. Fortunately for us, we always recorded and/or had a witness present to validate our statements. We had to deal directly with the regional lead to finally come to a resolution, including intentionally misleading us regarding the 20k incentive. He was just as deceptive regarding what changes we could make (we wanted a circular tub). After our earnest deposit cleared, it came to light that we couldn’t do that. He also misled us by 2 weeks regarding closing (the date changed within a week after we went under contract and the construction manager had no idea why the salesman had fabricated the completion date). After we moved inC we had continuous issues with the air conditioners and plumbing (hot water would either take more than 6 minutes to actually get hot, or we would lose the hot water mid-shower). It took at least 3 attempts per issue to make progress. We will see if the latest bandaids work or not. Every door knob has fallen off, the hardware is so cheap. 4 toilets and every handle is missing pieces in the back. Washers missing. It’s embarrassing to bring people in to my home. The toilets and tubs backed up in 1st week. The stench of sewage was something we had to live with for a month, with a one year old and three year old. The worst thing is I have kids and the rails have fallen through upstairs. Allowing the ability for one of my kids to fall through the railing. Can provide time stamped pics for everything. The water heaters were not working for the 1st month of ownership. They were replaced. My kids had to bathe at a family members home for weeks. The lack of insulation is insane. Not only for sound but the cold. I have a thermal camera for hunting and looked at the wall and laughed. ... More

The actual buying process was ridiculous. The sales agent was not informed, and what’s worse didn’t appear to care if she didn’t have correct, timely or complete information. The home design is lovely. The light, the layout and the function is beautiful. If there was less upper loft area, which could be dedicated to larger second bedrooms, the plan would be fantastic. The workmanship behind the walls seems to be competent. The finish work is bad, among the worst I’ve seen. Looking at the details of finish, you would think the subcontractors do not care about their work. Additionally, they do little to protect their, or others, work, so many parts need to be replaced or redone. Having said that, the responsiveness of the warranty team has been terrific, thus far. We may not always agree about things that need to be addressed, but they are always courteous and show care. Hopefully that will continue as we move forward. Highland Homes builds beautiful homes. Workmanship issues with various crews and insufficient quality control resulted in many issues. However, Highland Homes does attempt to resolve the issues. The process is slow but steady.

Lot unfinished work need to be done. T Jet tub not working.

So many things still need repair as we closed before all work was completed properly due to rising interest rates. Plumbing failed within 4 weeks of moving in and backed up into the bathrooms. Shane is on top of these things and I will be happier when all of the work is completed, but for the price point on this home, I expected things to be much better.

I don't know how things are with other builders, but my experience with Highland Homes was okay. I loved working with my sales counselor, who is hands on, attentive to details, and responsive.

We are disappointed with the house and wish that times were different so we could have bought from a different builder.

The finish work of our home was below par. The building manager did a great job addressing the items. If I could do it over I would not have closed until the majority of the items were corrected.

Sales person was rude and aggressive & loan office wasn’t good at communicating

Builder made promises at the time of closing that they have not fulfilled close to 3 months after closing. Bathroom cabinets are broken, missing fixtures, unpainted items, etc.

I purchased a speck home that was already designed. Color scheme chose was pretty. Disappointed in a lot of the workman ship in the home however.

But because of the home being built so quickly, there were many things that were overlooked. Our two main upgrades (Lot size & master shower) were not completed to our liking and we are still resolving these issues. Also the sprinkler system was set up prior to moving in and it was set to run three times a day, every day and our first water bill was almost $900. It would have been nice to know that issue before moving in. Very frustrating!

Highland Floor Plans are amazing! That being said the experience and attention to detail in workmanship was not as expected. Small things here and there to be finished is to be expected after closing on new construction. Having to call back because workmanship is sloppy should not happen. Pointing out issue with work performed and being told it will be fixed because I don't like it when in actuality the work should be re-accomplished because it was poorly done is ridiculous. That doesn't include the design process where change orders are lost or not submitted. This is not what we expected at close to $600K price point in a beautiful community. ... More

We are not too happy in the beginning when we looked at purchasing our home from highlns. The problem is that I believe this was a bit oversold in terms of trying to get us in the home. We initially made contact with a salesperson back in April 2019 and was told the home we were purchasing would be completed in late July. It was a play on the excitement in our eyes to have something ready shorty after arriving in San Antonio. Well to our surprise and without any delays that were mentioned to us... the home wasn't completed until late August. Meeting with the program manager and conversations with the Sales Manager seemed to be working in our favor, but it was frustrating. We were frustrated with not getting information, timelines and the changes in construction manager. The next constructions manager was better at responding. It was almost like the salesperson knew we were in a rush and we had to contact lead Program Managers/Constructions Managers all the time just to get updates. And the problem with that was contacting the office in the local area. I had to call the office in another city just to get through to the team in San Antonio. I called an office in Dallas to get transferred to the main officer here in San Antonio. There was little communication and finally we were able to get information on when the home would be completed and ready to move in. It was a rough few months especially with our daughter in the NICU for a few months.. and as we were not in the area to check in at times on top of having a newborn without a place to live was really frustrating. I know that we were upfront with letting the salesperson know that we would be in San Antonio the first week of July. I know that we mentioned that we wanted the tub a certain way. I know that we had GREAT communication with our realtor, but it appeared that the only people not responding to our questions or not listening were the team at highland homes. We frequented the property when we arrived and found a few areas of concern which we were told that would be addressed and taken care of as soon as possible. A new salesperson who was only here temporarily was very knowledgable about everything Highland and we so wish that we would have had her initially. This was a rush of emotion and frustration that would have been a lot easier had there been some clear communication from team Highland. Im that we initially trusted Highland homes to the fullest extent. The lack of communication and with the salesperson telling us this home would be completed in July kinda made it hard to ensure out needs were met and questions were answered. Very poor experience during the home building and buying process. This was our 5th new construction home so we knew it was going to be rough but could never have expected it to be as bad as it was. Everything on this home had to be done twice basically because people weren't help accountable (the brick even had to be torn down and new brick installed - windows wrong color - wrong fireplace etc.), construction quality was extremely poor for this price point (closed over two months ago and still don't have everything complete - CM is great, things just move extremely slow), paid extra for upgrades that were never done (still working to get it resolved). For example, I paid to upgrade bathroom fixtures and they just installed the cheaper ones and never said anything. I questioned them on it and it is still not resolved (said a back-order issue but this was in my change orders at the design center from a year prior to construction). Highlands was highly recommended to us. But the workmanship was not close to what we saw in model home or website.
