We bought an inventory home in the Bel Air Village from Highland Home. First, Highland Home's craftsmanship is unmatched regardless of which community you go to. We purchased the Ellington floor plan and we really love it. The home purchase process was very seamless. We have been in the house for about two months and haven't had any major issues. The first issue we encountered was that the house wasn't heating up and it was very cold at night but Miguel was very helpful and sent us the right contact for it to get fixed quickly.

After much research and looking at other new and remodeled homes in the area we found this builder to have exceptional value. All the extra details in building and finishing out the home went above and beyond any other builders in the area. The whole process went so smoothly and we were always kept up to date with progress, delays, and what to expect next in the process. The app is a great resource for buyers and owners!

Anytime I have a concern Austin responds right away with a solution or update. Austin is professional and informative.

I found a gem of a home that was well built, comfortable, and a fantastic value. The sales process was trouble free.

Our experience with Highland was issue free. Our salesman and our construction manger were top notch. They handled our requests as we sent them in and were professional and speedy. The home is the best home we have lived in. We love it.

Enjoyable buying experience. While I am very aware builders are overwhelmed with strong demand, logistic and employment issues, follow up on completing punch list items could be faster.

We were pleasantly surprised by the level of communication and customer care throughout the process. No builder is perfect and although some of the trades could be a little more attentive to details when working on homes, overall we were pleased with what Highland delivered.

We purchased a new Highland home in Denison which closed in November of this year. Since house was already under construction, and had fallen through twice, we were unable to make any substantial changes. On the plus side, we did not have to pay any closing costs due to the generous offers from the builder and lender. We were in the right place at the right time when the house became available, and we got the lot we wanted. It is an attractive house with a good layout, and the kitchen layout of out model has a good amount of storage. There really is not a lot to be critical of. I would say the Highland Homes has positioned themselves as a more upscale option in the housing market. With that in mind, it would be nice to see more attention to the small details. Some of the work was not up to what they were marketing themselves as. One design complaint would be that the master suite behind the family room and kitchen area has no sound insulation. Anything going on in that area, or the TV mounted on the common wall will prevent anyone from sleeping in the bedroom. Overall, it is a very nice house. Reggie ... More

My experience in buying a Highland Home has been pleasant from the start to move in. Highland was very responsive to any questions or issues that might arise during the building process. You can not go wrong in purchasing a Highland Home

We liked the highland home quality and their service. home has all the nice material used with granite counter top. One thing we are not happy with it with minor details that can be improved in workmanship like loose connections, visible gaps in some of the portion of patio which can be home of insects.

Danny was on top of my build the entire time, providing updates and setting realistic expectations.

Best part of the whole experience has been how quick and responsive Austin has been. If there’s been any little stuff that needs fixing, he’s been there either same day or next day.

You can tell when you look at other builders homes and divisions that Highland build quality is better. The homes are all brick and come with a lot of extras. The sales agent was excellent (Brittany) in keeping us informed during the build process. The homes are more expensive but you get what you pay for. They do not change the price upwards like many builders are now doing once you have contracted your home.

i have noticed many cracks in my home mainly at the window corners. they gave me a colour but still its brand new home. there should not be even one spot to criticize. door locks were all loose, door lock is not aligned properly, if you call them for repair they show in time.

Highland homes are nice homes. I closed on my home three weeks before I moved in. I went over the "punch" list and left a key for the workers to complete it before I moved in. A lot of the things were not completed and I am still waiting for it to be done over 6 weeks later. The cleaning of the home was sub-par. Attention to detail was horrible. You would think for the price you pay, it would have been better. I love my home but expected better customer service.

This was my 2nd Highland home and it’s beautiful. Was completed ahead of schedule.

The home buy experience was very easy. It was less stressful then other homes we have bought. The quality of a Highland home is amazing. They take the time to show you how to operate all the modern convenience.

Sales team was great pat and kitty. Home loan process was fairly good. Hank was awesome. Christi was helpful but confused me on a few items. Spencer has been good and responsive for warranty. Main issues drywallers did a poor job. Walls appeared bowed or sloppy, outlet cuts are huge when replacing switches with smart switches, the plates don’t cover there big cuts. Some walls missing texture. One wall had a soft spot but was fixed. Mortar/bricklayers guys did a poor job as well. Tons of mortar voids all over. Several walls the bricks are not straight and bowed inward. Tile guys did alright for the most part but could improve. A few backsplash tiles are crooked. ... More

Overall experience was great & process relatively hassle free.

My search for a home took some time but I chose Highland because my realtor said that they were the best builder around this area. Some of the choices in design leave me scratching my head but I’m making some changes there. My concern is the quality of the build overall. The home is less than a year old and it has several cracks in the bedroom where the ceiling meets the roof line. My neighbor has a jagged crack inside where the balcony floor meets the living room and cracks in her pantry where the shelf supports meet the wall. That house is also less than a year old. There is also a concern with the way my electrical has been installed. Loose bare wires in units as well as nicks in wiring were found when installing ceiling fans and dimmers. I will probably end up checking all outlets and switches to make sure they’re secure due to issues some of my other neighbors have had. These homes are being thrown up so quickly that I feel quality control is not being maintained. So far issues I’ve had have been addressed promptly except the cracks and I’ve brought that up recently. The entire ceiling seam should be redone. These homes are not cheap and shouldn’t have these kinds of problems so soon after construction. At least it’s still under warranty but what will happen after the year is up? ... More

Miguel (builder) has been wonderful. He has been thorough, responsive and patient. I feel that he takes my questions seriously and cares about the quality of the home as well as my experience in the entire build process.
