Long distance purchase builders very helpful showing stages of development

I moved in the end of April and have put in 2 request for repairs and haven't heard back. I had a crack in the master tub when i moved in and my vanity draw has fallen out.

Great sales counselor and overall experience.

There needs to be more communication with the trades when constructing the homes. Quality and workmanship seem to suffer and it creates unnecessary construction rework. Relator representing Highland needs to follow through in a timely fashion on promises deliverables to Highland customers. For the price it's a good value. If you're building from the ground up, keep in touch with the construction manager and make on site visits to check progress.

Why would anyone put something bad here? It would only make your home unsellable!

This has been the easiest and most rewarding experience. From day one Pat and Michelle were the greatest people to work with along with our realtor. They answered all of the questions we had as soon as we emailed or called. And we got our dream home at a GREAT Price. We tell everyone about it.

Can't go wrong buying a Highland Home. Got our money's worth on an all brick house. Highland has a great reputation and I experienced excellent service from the sales staff and the project manager.

Love our new home

We love our home, but nobody should finish a building project and wish things were different or with plans to fix things on your own at a later date. Unfortunately that was our experience. Our process began with a new hire running our design meeting. We were given no direction, no choices, and he had very few answers to questions we asked regarding upgrades. Having now gone through the process, there should have been a book or list to direct the choices we were being asked to make. Through the beginning of building our construction manager was great about updating us weekly as to what would be happening, but 5 weeks in her updates disappeared and would only answer emails on her timetable. She was completely unavailable outside of very limited set hours, which required us to take time off of work to come meet with her onsite. Late in the process we learned that our brick we chose was not updated in the showroom. The color we thought we had picked had been changed by the manufacturer and never updated the sample in the office. Highland did try to help by allowing us to change the trim colors to brighten the house, but it doesn’t change the fact our brick is not what what we intended it to be. Finally, our final walkthrough was so disappointing. The number of touch ups needed, damaged items, and unfinished projects were astounding. Our project manager assured us it would be done within 5 days of closing, but 6 weeks later we were finally finishing up the final walkthrough punch list. I know no house will ever be perfect, there will always be imperfections that only you the homeowner sees, but that unfortunately was not the case here. We had high hopes, good thing we are in love with certain aspects of the home, nd most of our disappointments are cosmetic! ... More

It was a long and painful process not due to the builder but because of my bank. Highland worked with me all the way. Living out of state while the house is being built is difficult but Highland made it easier. The quality of the home and the people involved in the process is top notch. I’m glad I chose Highland.

Everyone whom we worked and still work with have been extremely helpful! No matter what we’ve asked or reported, we have r3ceived prompt response!
