The overall process was efficient and reasonable. Once we went under contract, we chose our options and the work seemed to get started right away. We received prompt responses to all of our questions throughout, and the build finished largely on time. Communication was solid throughout. On the other hand, you give up some benefits when deciding to go with a home that is cheaper per sq ft. We had fairly limited options when choosing materials for the home, though we liked the overall aesthetic. Our walkthrough was eye opening - there were many issues that were not completed before closing, though most were resolved fairly soon afterwards (within 3 weeks). Now that we’ve been in the home for over a month, we’ve seen a few other things - contractors have shared that the wiring was not done well, the paint is very low quality and shows all marks, the trim and doors are made of very soft wood that dents easily. From a community perspective, there are still several things in process around the neighborhood, and the communication around when and how they will be resolved is nonexistent. All that said - the purchase made sense for our needs for more space, and the price worked for the larger floorplan that we needed. We knew we weren’t buying a top end custom home. Found numerous problems with the finish quality which could have been easily caught and rectified before sending it for closing. Did not feel like it is worth the money. It was evident that workers did not took good care of the house while they were working, scratches dents, over painting, flooring problem. We were disappointed for sure.

Maryann was gray to work with. She was always very responsive. When we decided to change cabinets she had the quote to is within 24 hours. During the final walk through Brennen was very willing to see the faults and even repainted multiple room entirely. Great team, great experience

There were misrepresentations in the sales process. The home was not properly completed upon closing. Homeowner identified significant issues that were going to be ignored by the builder. The "home walkthrough" never occurred because there were so many outstanding issues with the home. The John Weiland brand use to be a higher quality home but its clear that Pulte has watered it down and instead offers a few "free" upgrades and slaps the JW label on it for a premium. In a high volume area, they clearly take advantage of the market momentum to degrade the offer and experience as they know, there is another customer ready to slot in. The higher home price tag that JW comes with does not align to the features or experience one would expect. If you have options, steer clear of the Pulte branded JW homes. Existing JW homes built prior to ~2012 are most likely to reflect that higher degree of craftsmanship - but the JW of today should be avoided if possible. ... More

So far the house has been great, but there are little things that I see now that bug me, especially when I consider the price range we are in. there are a few places you can see the walls are no straight, paint splatter on cabinets, windows seem cheap. NONE of the bathrooms had any towel racks or hooks, I had to buy and install myself, to me that is not a finished bathroom.

All concerns were addressed in a timely fashion. Worked with us in closing date when we needed to shift with no issues. Have been great after the close.

Great salesperson. Poor project manager response on issues found during pre purchase inspection. Decent quality but some rather shabby workmanship by some of the trades (painting, landscaping, plumbing). Hopefully the exterior quality of the structures lasts. We have purchased other new homes over the years and would give this an overall score of 3 out of 5 stars.

We had an amazing experience with JW Homes. From start to finish we were impressed every step of the way. The professionalism and responsiveness from everyone we worked with was top notch! The new home is perfect!

JW homes and its staff was personable and attentive. Any questions or issues I had during the building process was quickly answered and resolved by a simple phone call.. I wouldn’t hesitate to deal with them again in the future.

Extremely hight quality of building materials

We had a great experience buying a new home with John Weiland. Our construction manager Patrick was wonderful to work with. He was very responsive to all of our questions and kept us up to date on progress every week. We believe we have a very high quality home and are pleased with the building process that we experienced

Although the team has been very responsive in addressing repairs, I expected the craftsmanship quality to be a lot better. The house was delivered with significant wear and tear on trims and baseboards, something that is not easily fixed. The paint job is sloppy and there are markings throughout the flooring along trims. The kind of damage that home owners try to carefully avoid when moving in with furniture, unfortunately is already built in by the staff. I’m spending a lot of time trying to fix or hide those defects myself just to get a clean look on a very expensive property.

No complaints, great experience overall, process was all in all straightforward and the people involved were responsive

We moved into our new townhouse about a month ago and so far everything seems beautifully built with great attention to detail. There have been a few very minor issues but each issue has been resolved quickly and at no additional cost to us. During the building process, we received detailed weekly updates on the progress and we were able to visit the property many times before we closed to see the progress in person. Overall, we love our new home and can see ourselves here for many years to come.

The experience was overall a very positive one

even though marketed as JW homes for high end luxury segment, the build quality is same as pulte and what you would expect with any other builder. The quality is substandard with materials used and care taken during construction

The team was very responsive and walked us through the process. The purchasing process was smooth with no issues. For the price point oh the house we we disappointed with the finish quality / lack of detail in the finish quality. There are soooooo many paint issues. The quality of doors, molding and window sill are poor and lack the proper finish. There are paint spots all over the floor, still working with John to resolve. The flooring boards chosen are of bad quality. We have many many splinters as we don’t where shoes in our house. I’ve now taped them up. It’s been over a month that I’ve eased the issue with John. No resolve yet. Personally the floor need to be replaced due to bad batch of floor boards. Land grading is another issue. I have sod washing away with rain. This has now happened twice, with no response of the issue. I have over 18 different issues raided with John in the past month and a half. Over all we are very disappointed with finish quality of the house. I’ve worked with 3 different builders over my lifetime and very much surprised on the finish quality for being Pulte. JW is supposed to be a higher end brand with certain finesse. This is nothing more then a Pulti build using the JW name. ... More

Good but not great quality or workmanship for a million dollar home.

Streamlined experience with up-front cost estimates (no gimmicks), excellent craftsmanship and prompt attention to any queries/service requests

This is our third build and it has been by far the best experience yet. Patrick and his crew were professional and expected great work by anyone performing work in our home. He was very responsive and delivered quality work. We would absolutely build another home by John Wieland Homes! Thank you for continuythe great experience after loving in with a responsive warranty group.

Pros: The sales process and communication was fine - easy to work through. The dedicated construction manager was great. Cons: like other home builders they are price gauging- way overpriced. Upgrades are overpriced and not worth it. Attention to detail is not good. Quality of craftsmanship is terrible. It’s fine as a starter home, but very far from what they market as a luxury home builder. They don’t include a refrigerator. Overall I would rate them as bush league starter home level quality.

This is our second JW home and we are impressed with the increased quality of materials in it. Very friendly team of sales, construction managers, warranty, and mortgage made it such an easy process.

Had a great experience! The communication during the building process was awesome!!

Overall the process was easy and people were extremly helpful. However, we were disappointed with limited amount of materials/colors/options offerred overall. In addition, when construction was completed, so of the location of the elements incorporated in the house could have been better placed.

It has only been six weeks but so far so good.
