If you want a 5-star headache, buy a home from these guys. Otherwise, just walk away. Although we are very happy in our new home, getting to this point was a nightmare. We had the worst project manager ever, a guy who was unhappy in his job and basically took out his frustrations on us and our home. Nothing was done right and the workmanship of what was done can only be described as amateurish. I won't describe the comedy of errors this construction site was, but took weeks to get things right. Everything you want costs money. They charge about double what you would pay for things like ceiling fans, so if you can install them yourself, do it yourself and save money. We bought the house before it even had drywall, yet we could not change what tile went in the bathrooms. Preposterous. As you deal with Pulte, you will find that the customer does not come first. They make loads of promises, but do not deliver. Whatever you do, don't make plans around your alleged closing date. They missed four closing dates for us, and missed the closing dates on the other three houses around us as well. I don't know how much that cost them, but it's amazing that Pulte, who owns John Wieland, can throw away money like that and not hold anyone accountable. After you close, their responsiveness to issues is tortoise-slow. It took two weeks for them to figure out who is in charge of our house, now that the previously-mentioned project manager left the company. Once again, many things have been promised, but nothing has been delivered. E-mails to corporate higher-ups have gone unanswered, so we can only assume that the do-nothing corporate culture at Pulte/Wieland goes all the way to the top. John Wieland sold out to Pulte years ago, and when he did, so went his name and reputation. I would probably sell out for $400 million plus too, but don't expect a John Wieland experience when you buy a Pulte home. ... More

Love the area, very convenient and the community is friendly, laid out open spaced and lots of room for roaming around. My house was bought as a new build so I did not design the interior but the Pulte designers did a fantastic job with the fittings, it is everything that I was looking for. The final workmanship lacked some attention to detail and it could of being finished off a bit better with a watchful eye, I don't believe a customer care inspection was done before closing because it was a rush job and it is now evident. The house itself is wonderful, awesome layout and mostly top class finishings. Most major issues I had at inspection have being resolved but there is still a few weeks work to be done that needs to be refinished and replacements to be done. Lack of attention in the final stages is probably the biggest flaw but altogether its a wonderful house and area. ... More

I had a wonderful experience when purchasing my home. Since closing, I have had multiple issues and the responses I’ve received have been poor at best. I’ve had to have the hot water heater fixed, the refrigerator replaced, 3 1/2 hours of work on July 4th done on the air conditioning unit, and the carpet in both the loft and one of my upstairs bedrooms is now coming a part “both areas are completely unused at the point”. Your emergency help line is completely worthless and I will not waste my time with that moving forward. I can honestly say, that I’m displeased with the experience since closing and I’m embarrassed that I referred a friend to purchase their new home with this group. Overall a good experience in working with sales team. Home is well built and well architected.

Very happy with our J.W home. Any warranty issues have always been addressed quickly and the home is gorgeous.

Since we bought the house in June we’ve had nothing but issues. I’ve lived here for now over six weeks and I’ve had numerous issues with the house. Once the house is sold and turned over it seems that they don’t care about the issues and they seem to make you feel like will get around to the issues when we can. Justin has been great and so easy to work with. But he’s only a one man show for numerous projects.

Do not trust when the they say they will take care of things after inspection and before closing. Way too many small stuff that keeps coming out and it is difficult to get confirmation on when things are going to be completed.

I am satisfied with my new home. I look forward to many good years in my JW home.

We purchased an existing, finished townhouse in the Foundry and couldn't have enjoyed a better experience. The entire process was a joy and the team at Weiland answered all of our questions and were extremely helpful. Sherri, Meagan, and Chad were always available to help us and made the process very easy for us. Brent on the construction side went above and beyond consistently and was always available and attentive. I'm a customer home builder and I bought a Weiland home so that should speak volumes. I highly recommend trusting Weiland to build your home.

Good home for the price.

Pulte Homes seems to focus on speed of the build at the expense of attention to detail. We've been in our home less than a month and I have spent over 7 days at home at various points waiting on "warranty trades to repair/adjust multiple items. The is a reasonable expectation for a punch list and i understand things needing adjustments but there have been multiple repairs and replacements. Hopefully, any major issue will show itself in year 1 when it's easier to get warranty work done. On the other hand Kerry, the field manager, has responded to issues immediately and has scheduled repairs with the urgency. He has a tough job under Pulte's Speed Building model. ... More

After closing, he ensured that the few workmanship issues that were discovered were addressed quickly and correctly. PRO: The homes are beautiful, luxurious, and well designed. CON: They are built quickly, so there may be minor workmanship issues.

Home has a lot of new features and very good efficiency rating. Drywall finish and paint was not up to par with the rest of the home features.

Original projected date of completion was Nov 2018; we didn't close until April 2019 so ended up extending our stay in an apartment far longer than expected. Project was mismanaged for the first 6 months, then a rush job thereafter. Even after closing the first month and a half was dedicated to dealing with poor workmanship. Our master shower leaked into the kitchen below the morning after closing. After two weeks of walking through my daughter's bedroom at 5AM for two weeks to take a shower before work, we contacted the some VPs in the warranty group and finally got some progress. Air conditioners were wired incorrectly and did not work, took multiple trips out to correct. The workers in an adjacent lot drove over our Comcast cable tap, which took Comcast about 3 trips out the to house to figure out. Overall this was a disappointing experience. ... More

Our builder made the biggest difference in our process. Brent was amazing!

I like the location I bought in, I like the design(minor things I would change) of the home. The representatives from Pulte were professional but I felt that they were overwhelmed with scope of the project. I had several punch list items. They were not addressed until I made several calls to upper management. Bottom line, I believe that there are not enough line workers to handle the day to day operation.

Nice service

We have had leaking basement. Leaking irrigation system that cost us hundreds extra in water bill. Wood stairs that had spots on them. They tried to sand them and repaint them but still not great. Builder came across like he cared at first but didn’t repair things he said he would in the end. Grout in master bath was wrong color and now repair can’t be made because grout won’t match and they don’t know what color it is to match. Multiple cases where I stayed home for work to meet someone for repair and no one showed up or called.

We have identified several issues upon move in that are problems. It is so difficult to get any response at all. We’re literally stuck at how to get a response. Furthermore, your company is very inflexible about hours they will come with strict rule that they will never come after 4 on weekdays...this is hard for folks with high-demand jobs.

I was disappointed in the delays and initial build quality of my townhome. Most things have been remedied. I did not find the level of management above the onsite employees to be responsive. It was not the experience I expected from the John Wieland name. In the end, my home is functional and beautiful to walk through, but I cannot endorse the construction process or the company's handling of it.
