We were fortunate to deal with John Wieland Homes/Pulte from the beginning to the end. We were told it would take about seven months from contract signing to closing which it did. We were told we would be notified of closing 45 days out and we were. Our Sales experience with Billy and Dana was fun and we felt they were working with our interest in mind throughout. The design process was accomplished with Ann-Mishoe and she was very good to work with. What could have been tedious was again fun. When we moved to construction we first worked with Travis and then Justin for the final four months. ...

Attentive to fixing issues in a surprising way

Good at getting repairs schedule and most small things have been fixed at 6 weeks of ownership, but will be more. They have a good system to deal with issues. Only issues is the subs they have to reply on - some very responsive and others not so much. They do seem to care and I am hope with how solid the home is and the repair process.

JW Townhome Buying Experience

We love our new home. It has had some of the same issues you find in buying a new home, but none of them major and always handled quickly and professionally by Jordan Keels, our site manager. This is the second home we have purchased in the area, and this home is far and above the quality of the last home by another builder. I highly recommend this team.

I would highly recommend JW Homes / Pulte. Jordan and the team were a pleasure to work with in finalizing our spec home. For the most part, the craftsmanship is very good and there have only been a few minor issues. For future home buyers, make sure that the opening for the kitchen refrigerator is large enough and electrical outlets would have been nice in the closets and more in the garage. Again, the home was already under construction so much of what was in the home had already been specified. All in all, it was a very good experience.

The John Wieland team was a pleasure to work with. McKenzie our project manager was exceptionally great. There were a few minor set backs due to availability of certain materials due to COVID but overall, a great builder to have build my house. Their settlement process was seamless and uneventful. I would defiantly recommend John Wieland to build your home.

We found working with the Pulte team a very nice, enjoyable experience. Wesley was so responsive and always followed up to make sure anything that needed to be corrected was done. I also found Paige to be very responsive and eager to make sure things were going well for repair.

Overall great but a few issues

This was our second time buying. Second time experience not a good as the first time which prompted us to come back. We were not informed of a few structural changes which impacted placement in the finished home. We are on our third roof which was an uphill battle altogether. For a two million dollar home one would expect two a/c zones on the main floor, but no, there is only one! There were plenty of minor issues and problems that we did not encounter during the first home build in 2020. There seemed overall less flexibility to correct mistakes, do trade offs and get issues resolved. In ...

All in all the experience was very good. As in every construction process there are bumps in the road and there are disconnects between the sales group, the materials purchasing group and the final product. The overall physical structure was built very well, however, it is very important that you bring an external third party inspector to all of your inspections. The speed at which these homes are built, it is inevitable for things to be overlooked or missed and as the new homeowner, your excitement overrides your ability to see everything even if you are in the business. The most ...

Construction is solid. Materials generally good with a few exceptions. Would highly recommend upgrading the kitchen appliances. The Whirlpool models are terrible! Pay attention to the placement of the house on the lot & the spacing between houses. Don’t rely on what’s in the model home to make upgrade choices. Things change. Structured wiring for TV & security system is a good thing to do. CPI did a very good job & have been responsive.

Love the house and Kevin has been amazing. We took over the house contract when it was 95% done but are super happy. Only issue is our yard which looks horrible in the back. We paid for a premium lot and have a stream that goes through our yard.

Pulte (John Wieland) is a large company and with that comes cautionary tales from previous buyers that helped guide us through the process. The representatives on the ground are great but they are at the behest of the company. We recommend multiple home inspections - post framing, post finish, and pre-final close to ensure everything was completed. Since they are a production builder and not a custom builder there are a few quality issues when it comes to materials but that's the trade-off. Beware of the mortgage side of Pulte and the incentives they offer. Make sure you know exactly ...

There were communication issues throughout. A representative misspoke at one point and they refused to honor what had been agreed upon. Unfortunately, that's what I will remember the most about the process.

Some of the nicest people I have ever worked with. That being said, my build process experience left a great deal to be desired. There seems to be a gap in the quality control and information flow between the people managing the process and the people executing the process. Highly recommend an independent home inspection - even with new construction - some of the best money we spent.
