Sales was awesome, the communication from the builder was great the entire time. There were more items needing fixed or finished than I would have liked come closing day. A few of them still not complete a month after closing. I enjoyed working with all of their people during the process, I'd just be much more inclined to rate higher if the last few repairs would be complete at a much faster pace.

My overall experience with Khov for the Luke Landing property was a great experience. We had minor things that needed to be fixed. Traci and her colleague were superb in handling issues and answering question. The construction team also was great in resolving all the issues that came up in the process of our home being built.

The closing was delayed by 2 months due to sewer issues. They did miss the garage door opener that was to be installed and now I have an ugly handle on my door. The biggest surprise to me was there was no thought for a hub for cable and internet. It's 2021? What the heck? Now we get to run ugly cables outside walls and drill holes in our brand new home. Not very thoughtful on the builders part. The best part of the process was working with the staff from Mike my sales man and my weekly calls from my superintendent Alan and my walk thru with Lori. Quality and workmanship issues but their warranty department are really trying to make things right.

Overall, we are happy with our new home. We did however we did have a couple of minor hiccups with the purchasing process and having the punch list knocked out. This is my fifth house that I have purchased. This process could be a little better. The great thing is that K. Hovananian has managed to construct Homes in ideal locations for work and to live. Our agent was extremely responsive and very helpful to our concerns. She continues to help even after the closing.

Nesha and Mathew were fantastic to work with, very attentive, responsive and understanding when issue arose. In fact all the people I had the opportunity to interact with have been extremely professional, friendly and attentive.

The experience was good overall. Some issues identified were not addressed before move in.

Allison and Scott were great. Your sales manager and lending team need improvement. They wouldn't even give me my closing costs. Their lender wouldn't match our rate. My payment was $200 more expensive. The bigger builders wouldn't do this. I have a real estate office and team. This makes me never want to do business with K Hov again. I was saving 72k using my lender. They were very rude about it also. Then they were trying to make it as hard as possible for my lender. We didn't have much time to close. Then they were trying to charge me daily if we closed late. I've bought and sold hundreds of new builds. Never seen anything like it. Your lucky to have Scott and Allison. Just to clean up these other things if you want to stop being a small time builder. ... More

Most of the process was smooth, and they have been responsive regarding the issues found, to a point. I am disappointed in the 10 day warranty they have. There have been several issues found after being in the home for 10 days like poor workmanship on the tile, a chip in the quartz countertop, marks on the tub, etc. When you move into a new home, there are many things going on, and you tend to miss stuff until things settle down. But after 10 days they don't allow you to report certain issues.

Company rushed closing date to 9/20/22 was originally told it would be end of month. Final inspection garage foundation was not level, contractor poured additional concrete which did not match nor level garage prior to closing was told epoxy would be poured to complete correct the issue with the garage. That was promised 9/16, as of today still not complete. Dishwasher also not working as of 9/16/22, currently still not level and shifts to the left after every complete cycle. Pull out trash can day one jumped off track, was supposedly corrected, still does not open and close smoothly. Front and side door entry to the garage must be slammed to shut. We love our new home, however these issues definitely negatively impact and take away from what should be a wonderful experience. ... More

Our home is beautiful however the final steps were very rushes to get it done on time. The drywall and paint is horrible. There was no QA/QC as we closed and they didn't fix the items that we pointed out at the pre-closing inspection. Now we have to deal with a drywall and paint in our house for three days after we have moved in. I hope we are the exception and not the norm as Khov came highly recommended. One shining star was our sales rep Allison!!! She was great in sending us pictures every week as our home was built and is just a sweetheart.

Appreciate the communications. We were called every week as promised. We were a little disappointed that some of the options we wanted or were told were available ended up not being available.

To many items need to be fixed.

I had call in to have painters come back a few times to keep touching up and to paint where blue tape was. It was so bad that after 2-3 times I still have blue tape. I asked Anthony for paint so I could do it myself. The house was not done with all the issues the day I got my keys. I still have an issue with the driveway that is not corrected yet. I closed almost 2 months ago. I have a light switch to the kitchen that is not working. Sabrina and Anthony were great but I can’t really say anything else was great. Lights on outside garage should be standard.

People involved with the sale were great.

I moved in 3 months ago, my kitchen sink that I picked out is still not in. My drip system is still full of dirt. My counter top was bowed, they replaced my counter top with another one that is also bowed. At this point can I just have granite counters as a "sorry you paid over $430,000 3 months ago and haven't got what you paid for!"

We have been prompted to submit various reviews of our experience with k hov. Please refer to the many reviews already provided where we have had the worst experiences with k hov and the condition of our home.

Starting with the sales experience Sabrina was great. Dustin and Todd were great throughout the walk-through and follow-up. The financing was horrible and I wish we had another options but we needed the builder's incentives for the lower interest rate at the time we purchased. Rob was terrible with communication and made the entire situation very stressful. After we closed we got a letter from another lender with our mortgage statement without anyone telling us our mortgage had been transferred from the builder's financing company to another company. If you choose to buy from K. Hovnanian and use their finance be prepared for great stress and a lack of communication and follow-up. I had to contact my agent multiple time to find out what was even happening. Even the closing agent, Heidi, another K. Hovnanian employee called me to find out about closing because she didn't get the information from the finance team. Good home, well built, only problem we had was in the time it took to build it - three months longer than anticipated

I really appreciated the sales office and the super, Alan. Alan was amazing and Mike and Shane were very attentive. The financial end was unenjoyable at best.

Love my new home. Only thing wrong that I came across was that the color of my house wasn't what I chose, which is upsetting. Also they never showed me proof of what I chose in the 1st place. My guess is the sales person put in my information wrong. So I'm stuck with what I have. Otherwise the house is up to what I expected it to be. Closing and getting everything together wasn't fun. No communication whatsoever until the very last minute, which as a 1st time homebuyer I thought was a nightmare. Would I buy from them again, yes I would. Based on the personal buying experience I have mixed feelings. On the good side, I can commend the sales team, the construction superintendent for the final construction phase, and post-closing service teams. At the same time, there were a number of opportunities for improvement. The house is mostly open frame (very few chip boards to reinforce it). Was quite surprised to see that at this price point. The construction resulted in quite a few deficiencies due to workmanship issues. Some of those took extra time and effort to correct. The selection of upgrades left a really bad impression due to the excessive amounts the builder wanted for some of the options. Finally, the lender team offered non-competitive terms for the loan. So, while it is clear that some of personnel really care and apply themselves, a combination of unskilled trades, and company policies contributed to the less than perfect experience. ... More

Overall, I'm satisfied with our new K Hov home; however, the process to get there was a tedious challenge that required a lot of communication. Thankfully, the sales and construction team were relatively quick to respond to the issues we experienced. Able to temporarily stay with family nearby, I was lucky enough to visit our house frequently as it underwent all phases of construction from framing to close. Along the way, I identified several critical issues with what was being installed -not with the quality of workmanship as much as the accuracy of following what was specified. If I didn't have the luxury of being able to witness the ongoing construction, then my house would have been constructed with several errors requiring rework. It was not a pleasant experience to feel like I had to be construction manager of my own home. I wished K Hov would send out their QA team regularly in order to detect these issues before I could. I found the overall quality of workmanship, which is confined to the local Arizona labor pool and skillset, to be very mediocre at best. Finishes (drywall especially but also paint) were done very sloppily, not to the quality you expect on a home you spent your life saving for. The design of the floorplan and the finishes that were specified are all very appealing, but the execution needs work.
