It was streamlined but craftsmanship could be improved

Shane was Friendly, Patient. Professional. His handling of the buying process from start to finish was part of my decision making in purchasing the house at the time. He responds promptly and always helpful even when not in office

To many items need to be fixed.

I had call in to have painters come back a few times to keep touching up and to paint where blue tape was. It was so bad that after 2-3 times I still have blue tape. I asked Anthony for paint so I could do it myself. The house was not done with all the issues the day I got my keys. I still have an issue with the driveway that is not corrected yet. I closed almost 2 months ago. I have a light switch to the kitchen that is not working. Sabrina and Anthony were great but I can’t really say anything else was great. Lights on outside garage should be standard.

The house had to many thing there not llook good like the bathrooms sinks has same ckacks as well the floors AND the walls paint looks so cheap AND kitchen cabinets with a few cracks AND when you make the claim the person on charge seems like he doesn't looks profesional AND his not help to much

People involved with the sale were great.

I moved in 3 months ago, my kitchen sink that I picked out is still not in. My drip system is still full of dirt. My counter top was bowed, they replaced my counter top with another one that is also bowed. At this point can I just have granite counters as a "sorry you paid over $430,000 3 months ago and haven't got what you paid for!"

We have been prompted to submit various reviews of our experience with k hov. Please refer to the many reviews already provided where we have had the worst experiences with k hov and the condition of our home.

Starting with the sales experience Sabrina was great. Dustin and Todd were great throughout the walk-through and follow-up. The financing was horrible and I wish we had another options but we needed the builder's incentives for the lower interest rate at the time we purchased. Rob was terrible with communication and made the entire situation very stressful. After we closed we got a letter from another lender with our mortgage statement without anyone telling us our mortgage had been transferred from the builder's financing company to another company. If you choose to buy from K. Hovnanian and use their finance be prepared for great stress and a lack of communication and follow-up. I had to contact my agent multiple time to find out what was even happening. Even the closing agent, Heidi, another K. Hovnanian employee called me to find out about closing because she didn't get the information from the finance team. Good home, well built, only problem we had was in the time it took to build it - three months longer than anticipated

I really appreciated the sales office and the super, Alan. Alan was amazing and Mike and Shane were very attentive. The financial end was unenjoyable at best.

Love my new home. Only thing wrong that I came across was that the color of my house wasn't what I chose, which is upsetting. Also they never showed me proof of what I chose in the 1st place. My guess is the sales person put in my information wrong. So I'm stuck with what I have. Otherwise the house is up to what I expected it to be. Closing and getting everything together wasn't fun. No communication whatsoever until the very last minute, which as a 1st time homebuyer I thought was a nightmare. Would I buy from them again, yes I would. Based on the personal buying experience I have mixed feelings. On the good side, I can commend the sales team, the construction superintendent for the final construction phase, and post-closing service teams. At the same time, there were a number of opportunities for improvement. The house is mostly open frame (very few chip boards to reinforce it). Was quite surprised to see that at this price point. The construction resulted in quite a few deficiencies due to workmanship issues. Some of those took extra time and effort to correct. The selection of upgrades left a really bad impression due to the excessive amounts the builder wanted for some of the options. Finally, the lender team offered non-competitive terms for the loan. So, while it is clear that some of personnel really care and apply themselves, a combination of unskilled trades, and company policies contributed to the less than perfect experience. ... More

Overall, I'm satisfied with our new K Hov home; however, the process to get there was a tedious challenge that required a lot of communication. Thankfully, the sales and construction team were relatively quick to respond to the issues we experienced. Able to temporarily stay with family nearby, I was lucky enough to visit our house frequently as it underwent all phases of construction from framing to close. Along the way, I identified several critical issues with what was being installed -not with the quality of workmanship as much as the accuracy of following what was specified. If I didn't have the luxury of being able to witness the ongoing construction, then my house would have been constructed with several errors requiring rework. It was not a pleasant experience to feel like I had to be construction manager of my own home. I wished K Hov would send out their QA team regularly in order to detect these issues before I could. I found the overall quality of workmanship, which is confined to the local Arizona labor pool and skillset, to be very mediocre at best. Finishes (drywall especially but also paint) were done very sloppily, not to the quality you expect on a home you spent your life saving for. The design of the floorplan and the finishes that were specified are all very appealing, but the execution needs work. Monarch floor plan

This was out first time owning a home that we had built from the ground up. We picked our various colors, etc. Knowing that this house was to mean a lot to us really made a difference. Now that we are in the house, we love it! Selecting, dealing and negotiating was a big impact on us. The sales individual was wonderful, very kind, generous, customer oriented and was very knowledgeable. Once those wishes were submitted and everything else falls to someone at a desk, the journey was not so pleasant. To draw the customer in was great, its the other individuals who need to work on their people skills, throughout its process. To include understanding, knowledgeable of procedures and just down right being pleasant instead of reacting as if it is their next paycheck. We hung in there, and purchased the home we are pleased, however, we wonder if others went through what we went through. ... More

I was surprised at the issues we ran into. Especially the finishes. Painting is really poor. We also had problems with plumbing and lighting. there is a switch in the loft that does not make sense and appears to be a mistake, but it will not be corrected. I continue to find issues.

believe the design of the homes is excellent, but the workmanship is not up to the standards of the design.

The salesperson/ analyst were very responsive. The warranty support team is also very responsive. The quality of craftmanship, materials & quality control checks have an opportunity for improvement.

Great customer service but I feel like more attention needs to be put towards quality checks of completed work. I often had to point out things to be corrected that I felt the construction supervisor should have identified and corrected even before I had to mention it.

Overall, it was not a bad experience at all, but it was not one great either. I understand you have alot of homes to build and alot of warranties to cover, but the overall customer service could be improved on I think. There were many times during the building phases and now in our warranty phase where customer service was lacking, or felt rushed like put a band aid over it and move onto the next house that has issues or questions. Please slow down and explain everything to homeowners as they move into a house. Its a major purchase in life.

We wanted to love this process but there were challenges at every step of the way. The salespeople were not as knowledgeable as they should have been and did not communicate as well as they should have given that we have never built a house before. When we brought up concerns along the way we were told things would be taken care of "later" and that "later" meant after we were moved in. Overall, we are happy with the house (the frame and foundation are good) and we got everything we wanted at a reasonable price but not without loads of stress.

It's as if the construction team doesn't realize that they are building alongside residence. Blocking driveways, debris everywhere, and working at all hours! Quality is lacking overall. Thank goodness for warranty claims. Sales process was pleasant but difficult. This may be out of KHov's control. I think it's just getting harder to qualify for so many people.

Home was poorly finished. Broken and missing items incorrect tile installed. Very disappointed

Sloppy. Light switches not level.
