We bought a model home so we knew we were going to do some renovations and knew the stuff we were replacing was cheaper quality. Overall, we really love our home and are happy with it. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall score would be 4.75 stars.

Builder did a great job, home well build and unique

When it was time to move to the next phase of the buying process, the person responsible for the step was prepared and took the steps necessary and prevented any lost time in the process.

Sean was amazing and attentive to any concerns I had. He was extremely busy but still made time for questions I had. The house is great and everyone made the process as seamless as possible.

This was the most smoothest process. They walked us through every step. I would recommend this company over and over again!

Very professional people to work with!

We had an excellent experience buying our home from K. Hovnanian. The Reps were extremely helpful and attentive to every detail. The construction team sent us text updates with pictures through out the building process that we found very helpful and informative. We love our new home.

Hime buying process was long but worth it . My home is beautiful and I love everything about it .

Stress free, no pressure from the sales staff. Obviously, the homes are superior but we thought the attention from the sales team and then the property superintendant and the follow up on minor issues was outstanding. Dealt with essentially same day. Highly recommend KHOV and Scottsdale Heights in particular.

Easy process to find our great home.

Sales information telling me house would be back on market the next day saved me miles/hours/days of continued searching in a very tight buying market. Home was ready to move into post closing. Each level of contact with KHOV staff was helpful and professional thru the entire process.

Trying to sell one home in another state and running into issues, they were very understanding and worked with us. We love our home and neighborhood!

Can't say enough about Steve and Ben our construction managers and the amazing hands-on transition from their completion of construction to our taking possession of the house. They continue to impress! We are huge KHov fans!

Even though we bought from out of state and during COVID-19, it all went smoothly, We trusted KHovnanian and all its staff and we were not disappointed.

As first time home buyers this was an amazing experience from start to finish. We always felt comfortable and informed through it. Everyone was great we really enjoyed the weekly updates from the team with pictures and updates.

Many of the frustrations from our home purchase came from the financing of the home itself. We were voiced that we would be saving 7k off the price of our home by going through their mortgage lender, and ultimately it was a disastrous experience. I understand wholeheartedly that when selling a home and buying another, there will be many more stressors involved than our first home purchase where our main concern was just purchasing the home. However, the amount of additional (and ridiculous) documents needed, the fact that the home appraised for 15k less than the settled upon price (realistically it was 22k less as we "saved" 7k by using their lender), and the sense of lack to transparency was the most frustrating. Initially the gentleman that sold us our home had voiced we could speak to negotiating the price as well as small features to be included such as blinds and a gas range for the home. Once we decided to negotiate (and they knew we were interested) that changed very quickly to an all or nothing mentality. Ultimately we decided to go through with the purchase price with small features being added in (mainly just blinds). One the appraisal had come through and we were 15k under the asking price, a VP conferenced into the phone and was the epitome of a shady salesman. From the sale of our previous home, we were wanting to put 20% down to avoid PMI, however when the home doesn't appraise the bank won't loan you the full amount so our 20 percent turned into 17%. The gentleman voiced nothing would change to our down payment or our monthly payment so it would be a wash and they would pick up the PMI payment on our behalf as it was "important for the first model to sell high". That is an exact quote. What they failed to mention was that while our monthly and down payment wouldn't change, that 15k was going straight into their pocket and while I knew this is what was happening I wanted to see if he would come out and voice it to us, or if he would hope we didn't have the understanding to see what was going on. Because we did we were going to walk on the property and days later the builder's rep did call us to apologize for the interaction and stated they would meet us halfway. Considering the sales of our home would cause more stress, we decided to go through with it. The mortgage company asked for document after document that we never would have needed through our old lender, and the most frustrating part was having 5 people reaching out to us for documents and then asking the account manager questions about the docs, and them not having any idea who or why they were asking. Lastly, upon the closing documents of our home were to be signed, we signed them based on the agreement we made with the re-negotiated price point and once we went to pick up keys for our home, that closing costs were changed again so we were asked to sign documents once again prior to receiving keys. This led to another few phone calls for that to be resolved. Please remember for the folks reading this review and considering to purchase a new built home, most closing costs go right into the builders pocket (that's why they can waive so much up front) and they are the HOA. This The home itself is really nice and the only issue I have with the quality of work is the paint being so cheaply done. I have purchased several homes in Arizona previously but never before have I seen the great responsiveness, quality and workmanship that has gone into my new K. Hovnanian home. During the building of the home I was made aware of the building status on a weekly basis by the salesperson and the Construction Manager. The Construction Manager, Matt, was there answering my questions during all phases of construction. He listened and came through on everything I requested and any changes I wanted made. Purchasing our home was a stress free, easy experience due to the assistance of Matthew, our sales represntative and Mark, our construction manager... Both were extremely professional and caring... Construction was on schedule and craftmanship was very good... Attention to detail and a quality job was a focus of the team building our home... This was due, as mentioned to both Matthew and Mark... A job well done...
