Overall experience with K. Hovnanian Homes was terrible from start to finish. 1.) The sales team members Matthew and Claire were very misleading and dishonest. 2.) The design team Chelsea was average at best. 3.) The construction team members James, Mark and Austin were misleading, dishonest and unresponsive beyond belief. They forced us to close early with the home being far from complete. It took 4 months to complete the home from closing. This all led to a horrible buying experience. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING A HOME FROM K. HOVNANIAN HOMES TO ANYONE.

When you sign, they have a clause that says you can’t talk negatively about khov. That should tell you everything you need to know. I have so many issue with my house that khov won’t fix. Gabe/Anthony (project managers) allows such horrible craftsmanship to get by. Josh (warranty) doesn’t want to fix issues. You have a 40% show up rate for when they do schedule people. But they are always unprepared, so it takes 3 months for you to have a shower working. They damaged my walls when they fixed another issue, but won’t fix the wall that is damaged. Allison (sales) lies every conversation I’ve had with her. Amy (design center) gouges you on price. No one at khov wants you to have a nice house. That’s such a bizarre position to have as a home builder. But they are very quick to tell you how much customer satisfaction means to them, unless you need something. Then they won’t help. Issues: Exterior doors are not water tight. Broken countertop Grout doesn’t match Drywall/paint did no prep work, so you can see every seem and tons of nail pops and cracks. EVERY baseboard needs to be replaced. House interior was painted in a non washable paint. Needs to re textured and painted. Air conditioner is broken and doesn’t work on the main floor. I went all winter without heating. Water pressure is bad Paint/caulk is packed into my carpet Missing drywall on my stairs Wiring issues Doorbell makes a horrible grinding noise Bathroom Ceiling fans are weak and installed poorly. Tile has large variances causing tripping They forgot to install pendant lights Neighbor had the same garage frequency so their opener would open my garage too. We have never felt so let down and lied to by any business as we have with KHOV. The lack of communication, false promises and follow through with the builders and the absolute worst finish work I have ever seen contributed to a very stressful and anxiety ridden home buyer experience. They tell you what they want you to hear, not what will actually happen. BUYER BEWARE!!

starting prices in no way match the model home you are shown. Once you buy and then start the selection process you find out that all the things you liked about the model are upgrades. Choices for standards are way outdated. Before closing you have a 3 hour window to walk through the your home and point out any problems. You can't possibly do this in 3 hours and on top of that we shouldn't have to because all we hear about is the quality workmanship that is put into these homes. We found several items that were problems that should have never been allowed to pass any inspections. Once closed you have 10 days to point out any other cosmetic problems. If any are found after that 10 day window they are now the homeowner responsibility. We have been very frustrated with this builder and would have a hard time recommending. ... More

Everyone on the construction part of the Home buying was awesome. Sabrina , Gabe ,Tyler are just a few.I was kept informed all thru the construction of the house.

Shane kept me up to date on everything and made every step of the process effortless.

Shane and the team were very responsive! They continue to be very helpful even after close! We love the home!

all house outside fill with cracks now inside start cracking ever where i have cabinet doors with no handle I Coll and the guy answer my questions. said that is now Moda of the tortosa community no handle on the cabinets.

I moved in 3 months ago, my kitchen sink that I picked out is still not in. My drip system is still full of dirt. My counter top was bowed, they replaced my counter top with another one that is also bowed. At this point can I just have granite counters as a "sorry you paid over $430,000 3 months ago and haven't got what you paid for!"

I would buy from KHov again.

believe the design of the homes is excellent, but the workmanship is not up to the standards of the design.

Still waiting on stuff from construction since we moved in! This is the worse experience EVER!!!!!

I’ve purchased multiple houses during 2021 and 2022 and the final home I received from K Hovnanian was the worst purchase ever. The materials used to build the home are extremely cheap and the finish product was junk. Cabinets wouldn’t align, contractors had forgotten to set up the plumbing die for second laundry, counter tops were in even and wouldn’t align either. Best advice, don’t buy from K Hovnanian. Try different avenues kick Richmond Homes.

The entire experience from start to finish was a very rocky road. I told my parents not to buy a house here because of it.

We were out of state buyers so we were unable to check on our house regularly. We trusted the process and unfortunately we were very disappointed in the final product. The builder rushed to get our home finished and sold. This resulted in our house missing insulation in attic/ceiling, gas not hooked up to our stove, cracks in our cabinets, chipped tiles throughout the house, damaged doors, damaged driveway, broken shower door, and the list goes on. You also have to be ok with a level 2 finish which just gives them an excuse for a poor mudding job throughout the house. Very untimely response to issues. Three months after close we are still dealing with craftsmanship issues that have been unresolved.

Company rushed closing date to 9/20/22 was originally told it would be end of month. Final inspection garage foundation was not level, contractor poured additional concrete which did not match nor level garage prior to closing was told epoxy would be poured to complete correct the issue with the garage. That was promised 9/16, as of today still not complete. Dishwasher also not working as of 9/16/22, currently still not level and shifts to the left after every complete cycle. Pull out trash can day one jumped off track, was supposedly corrected, still does not open and close smoothly. Front and side door entry to the garage must be slammed to shut. We love our new home, however these issues definitely negatively impact and take away from what should be a wonderful experience. ... More

The house was move in ready but there was a lot discrepancies that needed to be addressed. I felt unprepared when I moved in. It’s an information overload but also there is information that is never given. I was given answered to my questions in the moment only to find out they were wrong answers and made me feel lied to. The warranty person has been great. When I do have tickets they are handled immediately or I get a call immediately that it will be handled. I wish the builders took more care before we moved in so I didn’t have strangers in my house for warranty. It’s a huge stressor to me to find someone who can be here for it, or take time off to be home fortunately our warranty agent usually plans it all for the same day. Is it possible that if the builders took more caution it would have been done prior too. Some information I asked for the builders refused to give me. Information on what my electrical is rated and where the wires are were denied to me which is crazy because as I improve my house I don’t know what or where my electrical is. They also aren’t sure what the inside paint colors are for doors and baseboards. I would of liked all this in my email or printed information. The warranty agent has been very helpful, but I wish the builders either had more time, been more aware of the trades and their workmanship so I wouldn’t have to call warranty always. Quality home with a good team to get it built and this sales team were extremely supportive to the buyer on tough times and rising interest rates.

The people who work here are exceptionally knowledgeable and nice to work with. Our experience has been a good one.

I have to start by saying we love our new home. This was a long process from start to finish and there were definitely some ups and downs to our overall experience. Kelsey, Matt, and Shannon represent Khov sales, construction management, and post sale home support and have been great. Throughout the sales process Kelsey was very helpful and keeping us in the know. During the build Matt and Kelsey provided updates on a biweekly basis and even sent us pictures of progress. Post sale home warranty and service ticketing through Shannon has been great. There are some things beyond all of our control (materials delays, appointment delays with trades/trades attention to detail on certain finishes on the house) that can become frustrating, but knowing that we had a strong team to help us get to and through the finish line has been the best part. The Khov team we had was amazing and we are happy with how everything has turned out. My only tip to help alleviate stress in the process is regarding selling your current home. If you need funds from your existing home to purchase your new home...sell it well in advance of your closing date. We did a "simultaneous" close and it was very stressful. We walked into a model home and were blown away. Our guide then took us on a golf cart ride to view what has become our home. We walked into the inlaw suite first it had everything we needed for our father. Then walked into main home and we were viewing a dream that became reality.
