This is our second KHov home purchase. The first was in Monterey Park in Gilroy, Ca. The quality there was much nicer. This one, we have holes around the outlets, many light switched are setting at an angle. The cabinets are very good quality. We are still picking up cigarette buttes and nails from our front and back yard. It took several tries to reach our service person. The seams for baseboards and door frames have very obvious gaps andWe miss the manual, as the online portal is not secure and we probably wont use it until that is fixed. The thermostats are not centrally located. Overall we are disappointed with the quality and the unfinished look of the home. Our sales person, John was very helpful in our purchase, we needed a quick move in and he delivered. We were very happy with his frankness and his quick responses and his willingness to help. Was a great experience! They did a phenomenal job!!

The home buying experience was amazing! Jennifer answered our questions and handled our concerns through out the whole buying/ building experience. If I were to move and buy another house I would definitely look up KHov!

My home is beautiful and the price is amazing! It was a magical experience watching with hopefulness that this beautiful home from dirt field to solid walls and roof would one day be mine. There is much excitement with knowing no one else has lived in my home or made any memories. There are so many well thoughtout designs included, such as the numerous amounts of light switches in just the right locations, dual level air conditioning and heat control, the Internet based products (that were not upgrades but included), beautiful color schemes, open concept, modern finishings, options for upgrades, and sizable rooms and restrooms. I feel blessed to be a K. Hovnanian® Home Owner! With all blessings there are areas of improvement. These recommendations include following through with meetings and stages of the home building as was explained in the pamphlet at time of signing for intent to purchase. As well as the recommendation of not signing off on final walk through unless everything is fixed that is discussed during the final walk through instead of believing that the site supervisor "will take care of it." This is my only regret with my purchase. What was supposed to be any "easy fix" is now a headache, and a home warrantee request. We enjoyed working with John. He made the experience enjoyable, he's knowledgeable, trustworthy and funny. We were disappointed and frustrated with quite of few things. Some people were very disorganized and rushed. Made lots of mistakes and didn't listen very well on the walk through. Its been over a month and we still have m People coming in to fix things.. the supervisor Ricardo is wonderful. Even though he's visiting alot because there are problems. He at least listens and solves it right away. We got our home early but it would of been better to have it done right. We enjoyed working with the sales staff, they were very friendly and helpful. We were disappointed that K-Hov did not honor their own Hometown Hero credit, that is why the lower score for Trustworthiness.

Outstanding work from the sales team to the building team. Throughout the whole process everyone was very pleasant to work with , and they help smooth everything up to my move in day ! I would definitely recommend K.Hovnanian to anyone who is looking to buy the home of their dreams.

Response to issues is worst

Overall happy with purchase and family is happy. There were numerous small issues that need to get resolved and lots of sloppiness in many areas of the home.

very bad experience with sales team

Sales promised so many things (like Gourmet Kitchen, lower Cabinet in Laundry etc) and ultimately none of them were addressed as I felt they were more focused on selling homes and meeting or exceeding their sales targets and never seemed to consider the buyer as their customer. On the Contrary, the maintenance team led by the construction manager have been very prompt in their responses after closing the home to address any new or outstanding issues.

There was no update through out the construction and emails were hardly answered. Home was not delivered after the closing documents are signed and the account has been funded. There was no respect for Buyers.

I feel great to be a part of KHOV. Loved the house quality/design that come with our homes. Only part i want KHOV to improve is about having better communication with buyers. When buying dreams(homes) buyers don't want to have false promises. Thank you.

The whole process of buying our home was smooth and surprisingly easy.

Attention to detail was not there

While I love my new home, I found communication with the company to be difficult and lacking in the final month of the process.

KHOV, I truly hope this review gets elevated to your upper management. Our experience started in June 2020. We’ve had multiple quality and construction issues through the building process. You guys need to perform your own quality inspection thought each construction phase frame, sheet rock and finishing. Absolutely crazy that you can install the wrong color counter tops twice. Sheet rock had multiple bows. Drywall finish issues thought the House especially where they replaced the counter tops. No one even bothered to paint the repairs, they just textured them. Sliding rear door wouldn’t close correctly. I mentioned it to the construction manager and they addressed it, but it’s not the customer responsibility to do someone’s else’s work and point things out. Not to mention I have a cooktop since October 30th that I can’t use because of damaged leaking gas on cooktop. It goes back to not performing self inspections. It’s seems to me that upper management is more worried about meeting a deadline and closing on a specific date than the quality of your product. ... More

Be cautiously aware that the administration side of this company is very unorganized and lacks proper communication.

Sale rep doesn’t listen or care. All they want is there paid check

I have to be honest, sometimes the response time took too long if I called someone instead of sending an email. I indicated a few issues when I did my walk through, which are just getting repaired supposedly this Friday, November 13th. My home closed on September 28th. What I have been told is it was the vendors who claimed they were not getting the supplies due to CIVID-19. This very well may be true, but it’s still very frustrating.

Overall I would say my experience with Hovnanian was horrible! The sales portion was positive but the workmen-ship was awful! I've had to have the workmen come back several times to correct tile issues, painting issues and overall repairs to my "new" house. Very disappointing experience!
